This is so cool but I can’t imagine it being a permanent fixture that goes off every now and then the amount of redundancies to make sure a plane isn’t flying above must have been a headache or maybe that wasn’t done at all and I don’t know shit lol
It is only for the weekend. Illuminate SF does temporary light shows in different areas of San Francisco.

The stations are designed well but some issues with construction as noted in this article: The $2 billion Central Subway has lots of leaks, few riders sfstandard.com/2024/04/12/san-francisco-central-subway-leaks/?
I also like that is is not crowded, but I guess revenue wise it's not good for SFMTA.
@@urbantrekusa Nope. That SF Standard article turned out to be slopaganda. Since the Central Subway opened ridership grew by over 80%. From 11,000 to nearly 20,000. Even the writer of the article acknowledges the crazy ridership growth, "Daily weekday ridership for the T Third averaged about 14,300 in 2023, way below the 43,000 riders SFMTA expects by 2030. (Last month it had 17,300 weekday ridership.)" People keep trying to dunk on SF and keep failing. It's become some sort of an online meme and the press is trying to cater to it for out-of-towner clicks. But the reality is that the Central Subway has nearly double the ridership of the T in a single year and the growth just keeps pumping every month. Since this article was written the T has surpassed 20,000 riders, another 15% increase!
