Dan it’s sad history for a dangerous job. Having a bus accident just three months was a load on the community no doubt. Glad you told it and do they have any black American stories of the area?

I'm 68 & I remember my mother washing clothes, but the wringer she had needed to be hand cranked. Then it was time to carry them to the end of yard as myself, brother & sisters could only reach the line at the end to hang them up. Brought back memories, thank you for the video!!!!
A lot of heartache for a community to endure

I love the cross over. As I'm watching you, I'm also watching Leo on the Hillbilly Files... My father was a Branham. Branham creek is 40 miles southeast of Williamson Ky. The Branham history is full of twist and turns... 2 Branhams shot Sherriff Frank Phillips. Others were associated with Al Capone. Others were KKK. Let's not forget the faith healers and politicians. Lol. But most importantly, Caroline Branham, who was at George and Martha Washingtons death beds. (Born and died a slave) and still has no head stone. Anything you happen to know about the creek would make me very happy. thank you. J>B>K.
Love ya Dan!!! Keep them comino! ❤❤❤
@@melindaschluter1669 thanks I sure will
Really enjoyed this! It’s always good to get back to the Devil Anse home place and museum. Amazing the things you find there! Maybe someday you could do a video telling about metal detecting - maybe tell us the basics in operation and the differences between your previous and new detectors, finding sites, etc. I’m sure there are a bunch of us interested in learning how to get started. But especially tell us your favorite digs, your favorite finds, and your best and worst experiences.

I’m 62 and I remember doing clothes like this until about 1980 when we got a “real” washer and dryer. Laundry and folding/putting away clean clothes was one of my chores from about 10 -20 until I moved out. Daddy had made it so we didn’t have to carry water. Miss Christine was right. Clothes didn’t get nearly as clean in a modern washer!! I say this now and my kids roll their eyes 😅 Oh and the smell of clothes brought in from the line on a sunny day! There’s no smell like it!!

Thanks Dan for doing some metal detecting to entertain us! I wouldn’t be surprised if a bullet could be in a good sized tree trunk but you can’t go injuring a tree to pull one out.
