Bell’esemplare!
Thank you for the video. I bought a 53 170 DS about a year ago. She runs ok but I need some repairs. Can you help me to get some parts when I need. I really appreciate. Thank You Tim

Wow! My grandpa did his driving license on a 170. He always pointed this car out to me when we came across one in a museum.
that is today a wonderfull car... Not to fast for overfilled streets, but only safe, that you can drive, when you need it. Today i hope more cars will be builded not fast but sure and perhaps, with less oil or gaz
Well done! Perfect Restauration.
Dear braveman Is there a German Licenceplate under your Licenceplate??? IS IT starting with a D????

Beautiful old Mercedes!
Thanks!
SUPER AUTO .
Nice video. I like the color you chose for the car. It must have been an expensive paint job. The interior is beautiful, too.
Thank you. Super video. I remember the model from my RAF days in Germany 1957 - 1960. A lot of the guys took them home to England at the end of their tours of duty. Yours is a credit to you. True love I should think.
Michaelxxx1936 THANKS!

Thanks! I like your car, especially the blue colour. Since last spring I am owner of a MB250SE W111 Coupé 1967 Have a nice day! Lars
super
I m driving a 2009 GL Blue Tec. I also once owned a US 1937 Chevrolet family car. Your Merc has "such a 37 Chev" look about it, especially from the side....... though, ten times the better car. Thank you for sharing, as they say....
The secret to life is in the details and you hit it out of the park. Congradulations
Thanks!
May you and future generations enjoy your work. Love the color ,I used to own a 220A that color.
Its a question about free time, money, enthusiasm mixed together. I also have a house, wife, children, parents, work, 4 more cars, garden, etc. friends to spend my time with.... Have a nice day !
you havent really rebuild a mercedes have you?
Tack!
that's awesome, thanks to you, cars like this can still run our roads ;)
Yes I have restored it myself except for the paint and chromeworks. If you watch my other video you can see details from the project.
Did you restore it?
Wow looks 30's. Mercedes was waaay behind in looks. (which i think is awesome) but way far ahead in mechanics.
My older brother owned a 1953 170-SD in the early 1960's while living in Dallas, Tx. It was a fun car to drive around and always drew a lot of attention. Unfortunately he had to let it go as it became impossible to find parts to keep it running reliably and it was his main daily vehicle. As I recall he originally bought the car for $600 and a Colt 45 pistol (This was in Texas remember).
Thanks, The original colour name is Mittelgrün DB229, But when I used the modern colour specifications they call it Tundragrün DB229 (Glasurit I think) If you use DB229 you will find the right colour. Regards/braveman170
