1970 Brockway Will It Start?
This truck hasn't run in five years, I got it hooked to fresh fuel and batteries to give it a go.

I started on this project 6-1/2 years ago, today I backed the truck out for the first time. Still some work to do, but it is driveable.

I did not know about this model from mack
Old guys knew how to build things.
EXELENTE !!!! .
The dirty Bill!!!!
That is a gorgeous 361! Brockways are my favorite. I'm a bit of a Brockway nerd so feel free to reach out with questions if you'd like. Glad she's got a good home!
Wow, love the sound of it! I’m surprised you got it started so soon
Sweet keeper. Good luck on the Restoration
Sounds good! Did you find another turbo for it?
I patched the old one back together, this truck needs a lot of work so I'll get a better turbo when I get farther along.
Gotta love them 855's
These trucks never make it to where I live (Indiana) and we have to be careful about rust. Looks like this one is in decent shape as for corrosion. Probably could find a turbo pretty reasonable priced for testing purposes. Good thing the turbo was mounted below the intake, that might have saved the engine.
What year is your Mack. When I was going up, Smith trucking has 100s of those style cabovers in Staunton, VA. I lived along Hwy 250 in Fishersville. I was in grade school (1959 - 1964) and waiting on the school bus, the Smith drivers would come by and either sound their air horn or hit the very noise air starter when we motioned for them to blow their horns. When you started your Mack, it brought back many great memories. Thanks
I call it a '59, it's got a 1960 frame and rear bogey and a cab and engine from a '58. I have an old Smith truck, there's a few parts from it on this one.
I would give a hundred dollars just to get in and crank it up,,,Lol,! What a beautiful rig, Thank you 😊
Had the misfortune of driving a R model, hauling dirt. Always heard they were built tough. The real story is most of them don't have enough power break anything. Businessman's choice & hire somebody to operate it. I do like your old cabover, though.
You are doing a great job with the old H. Like the colors.
What a beautiful Mack! I always loved H models
My dad had a Mack cabover but I think it was did they build a Gmod it had a aluminum frame it was all Mac with a 15 speed we lived in Georgia at the time I think it was around 1973 of course the Mac was a lot older I remember him selling the motor and stuff out of it later on he was a wheeler-dealer
The G models are pretty rare now, they had a much larger cab than the H models.
Do you have any pictures of the g model I kind of remember in my head what it look like but I can't find any pictures if you do would you play share thank you
@@chuckteverbaugh6798 I don't have any but you can google "Mack G Model" and you will see a bunch of them.
Air starters used to scare me when I was a kid in the 70s
What incredible progressive you made on that, I remember when it was just a pile of rust!
Trucks awesome, how about that brockway I see?
Thanks! That's a 1970 361 with a 335 Cummins, I will be restoring that after I get this Mack done.
Looking good. Nice to see that moving again. Take care good friend
60 or 70 pounds isn’t that heavy, i could totally bench that
That looks like a perfect fit, almost looks factory fit!
Perfect video, 11/10 if I could rate it that
I have the same truck ..just need to restore mine...could please upload a much longer video about your truck.
Great video! This is good, clean fun entertainment for the whole family
FANTASTIC!!!!! It would have been great to have you working when we had the trucking companies. Here at 1592 Carl had mechanics working on repairing and rebuilding trucks before we moved to Dover Road. None of the projects then was involved as this one. I believe you said you have been working on this for 23 years. Great job.
Me too!
I liked the part where the truck started
