NICE!

NICE!
What's that guitar? Are those railhammers? Good stuff
Yes, Railhammer chisels and the guitar is a Reverend Sensei.
@@jefft5854 yeah I looked it up, got ovation GP vibes, Love it.
Is there anywhere where I can find what pedals you use
A Behringer SF300 for Scott's part. For Bob's, any of the other fuzz pedals that I have: a FFM3 fuzzface mini, nano Russian muff (the army green one) or the Dr No Kafuzz.
Wow you're on a roll
The guitar was tuned in Drop C, so Anodizer was unavoidable ^^
Love this song and the album
Killer tone…I just got into this band and this is my favorite song, so it is cool to hear this. Thanks!
Thanks, I love Mammoth too from the same album.
That sound is mad ! Buzzing, fuzzing, gargling ! Damn ! So heavy and beautiful!
Hi, sounds great! Could you please tab the interlude 2:27 - 2:42? Figured out yourself or is this somewhere online? Thanks!
Thanks! I learned it by ear. It's all box 1 pentatonic from 10th fret, with all licks starting and finishing on a C (3rd string 12th fret). I can make a quick vid showing the licks slowly if that may help.
@@jefft5854 hi Jeff, I ended up doing the same thing - playing your vid in 1/4 speed 😀 reeeeaaal slooooooow - think I got the idea! Thanks and keep it up! Cheers!
🔥🔥🔥My all time favourite band. Merci Beaucoup 🤘🏼
de rien !🤘
Very nice, could you do saturn iii?
Thanks! I can play the Saturn III riffs, but I never gave a try at the solos. They sound easy enough but they are 2 with doubled guitars, so more or less 4 leads to learn :D I will give it a try after I finish a couple of other "big" songs.
Cool cover! What guitar model is this?
It is a Reverend Sensei.
Who? Never heard of this band...
Thus Love ;) The best post-punk band since Interpol imho. Not the kind of music I listen to everyday, but everything they've released so far is good.
This is great. Love this.
Amazing, so much love this solo and bass
Thanks!
Looking at it from a guitar perspective, it looks like it's the Mongoose but just backward.
Nice job as always! Though I'm pretty sure it goes 6-5-6-5 in the beginning riff, not 6-5-7-5. Your solo version was great btw, I would also not be able to replicate Bob's shredding :D
Dammit I played it half like Mongoose then 😆
So cool, what fuzz pedal you use?
I do not remember for sure, I think it was the Dr. No Kafuzz. I also use sometimes an EXH Sovtek big muff and an MXR classic 108.
@@jefft5854 ty man
@@jefft5854 circle jerks
Excellent, thanks! I like more than a few on that album but right now... Solar Baptized. (at the 2:23 Mark of the song, it sounds like Lynyrd Skynyrd's cry for the bad man. and I also like Loch Ness Wrecking machine.
Yes, great track. The first part of Low Road in Fu30 had a similar southern rock vibe.
What pedals do you like to create Fu Manchu sound. I have a boss fuzz. It's ok..orange amp. I know Balch also has his own pedal I haven't looked into it though.
@@MGS61 For Scott's sound, I usually go cheap and use a Behringer SF300 or the built-in Katana octave fuzz (they do sound the same). Tbh I don't like the tone so much but it sounds great together with another type of fuzz. For Bob, I use the MXR 108 fuzz face or a green russian/sovtek big muff or a Dr No Kafuzz and try to tweak it to match more or less the recording. I cannot get anywhere near his solo tones though (sometimes super creamy, sometimes with lots of mid range). His sig fuzz pedal sounds fantastic when he plays it but I guess it also depends very much on his guitar pickups and amp as well. Eddie's tone is easier: marshall amp with some gain (or emulation on Katana for me) with a fuzzface, and if it isn't gnarly enough, a sort of tubescreamer in between.
Awesome cover - this song was the first one I ever learned to play on Bass and Guitar. I can't thank Does it Doom and Beholden to the Riff enough for helping with that 😁🤘
Yes, they're great channels!
Rad as hell and conpliments on the OP shirt! Any chance in hell you would be willing to cover Loch Ness Wrecking Machine? Im stuck on a few parts and cannot figure them out.
The OP shirt and Vans shoes make up for the mistakes😁 I've started learning The Return of Tomorrow this week. I'll have a look at Loch Ness Wrecking Machine after that but I know for sure that Bob's shredding at the end of the solo is way above my skills.
Awesome cover
Thank you!
Hell yeah man, getting nice with it!
only original beat version on youtube....bravo
nice cover of a classic fu song what amp are you using if you dont mind me asking? and is that a reverend sensei?
Thanks! That is indeed a Sensei. The amp is a basic Katana mk2 with big muffs (a Sovtek/EHX big muff reissue and a Kafuzz) pushed by an EQD plumes. I guess the Katana effects would be enough to get similar sounds, but it's simpler turning knobs on a couple of pedals than using the software.
@@jefft5854 thats a killer sound especially for an amp thats so cheap. ive considered getting a sensei but none of the local stores carry them and im leary of spending that much on a guitar ive never played. they sound great though from what ive heard
@@warshipsatin8764 In Europe you can find a good second-hand sensei for something like 600€. Comparing with my other guitars (a Fender tele FMT and an Epiphone SG with Gibson pickups) I'd say the sensei gives overall a better value.
One of my absolute favorites from Fu Manchu! Really the whole In Search Of album is amazing!! Thanks for this!
Thanks!
What are some of your other favorite bands in this genre? My favorite band of that genre was Kyuss. I also like Dozer Greenleaf Monster Magnet Clutch Freedom Hawk Brant Bjork and any band that John Garcia sings in.
Nice selection! 👍 I would add Nebula, The Atomic Bitchwax, Earthless and Lowrider.
nice playing and killer tone, man! "in search of" is one of my favorite albums of all time - i learned to play guitar and bass by playing along to it. so many great riffs on there
Thanks!
Another great cover of a classic Fu song!! Awesome stuff man
thank you!
Great cover man! Nice tone! 👍
Thank you!
Awesome cover as always man!! Also if you could cover Anodizer sometime, it would be amazing! Keep on rockin' brother🤘
Thanks! Anodizer is one I tried early when learning guitar and I stalled on the "Flying over my head" riff 😁 I'll give it another try.
!! GG My Friend nice video !! have a good day ;D !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks ^^
Same chord structure for main riff from original song?
Yes, verse and chorus riffs are the same.
heyo keep it up my friend and have a great day :D !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Underrated song!! Great work man, keep these coming!!
Thanks :)
Awesome tune man i love Fu Manchu and your cover is great👍! Cheers!!
Thanks!!
What tuning is that?
It's D standard.
@@jefft5854 is it dropped D as well? It appears as though you’re barring the full fretts on the low E string
@@darkstaarzero It's standard D (DGCFAD). All power chords are played with standard fingering, not by barring the low strings. What is the part that confused you?
D Standard? Love that CC Demo album or anything from this band. Wish Brant could work with them somehow. How about Planet if the Ape Hangers ?
Yes D standard. My list of songs to learn is already too long but I'll add Planet of the Ape Hangers, it's a fun one. I'll see Brant Bjork's Trio in about a week, can't wait to hear him live.
@jefft5854 ugh don't remind me... I missed him when he came to PHX.
Way good!
Sweet, you’re playing a Reverend Guitar like Bob the lead guitarist.
Yes. Perhaps one day I'll get his signature model ;)
@@jefft5854 I’ve taken Skype guitar lessons from Bob for years. He is a supercool guy. It looked like you were playing a Reverend Sen Sei guitar; his signature one has just a couple of different parts and it’s a killer guitar but very similar to the Sen Sei.
@@EchoApexFirstEcho That's great! His lesson videos on playthisriff are lots of fun.
Nice playing Jeff!!
Thanks!!
WHAT IS THE FUCKING TUNING?
D Standard (D-G-C-F-A-D), like 99% of Fu Manchu songs
Thank you
Thanks for the free lesson. Owe you a six pack. Is this in D tuning like most other fu ?
Yes it is :)
Most of them are D Standard, off hand the only one I can think of that I know thats not is Evolution Machine in Drop C (I thought it was in C Standard at first but turns out its Drop C)
Another great cover, what make is the guitar Jeff? Subscribed👍
Thanks!! It is a Reverend Sensei RA.
Lovely, fuzzy, fat guitar tone
Great cover. Great playing. What a lovely< guitar that is! Any chance you could do "Lesson" off their "We must Obey" album in the near future? Cheers
Thanks! That song was not on my list, I'll give it a good listen. Not sure the Katana can handle the effects and my fingers can handle the solo ;)
@@jefft5854 Thanks for your quick reply. The effects don't need to be exact replicas though ;-) Would be a fun song to learn. Cheers
Great cover my friend!! 👍🎸
Merci !
