noma is built up, no new construction. so you can move back
I mainly left because I felt unsafe there
2K That's a NYC apartment price...good content I subscribed
There is just something about older apartments. Maybe it's the old charm. I hate the standard box layout of current apartments and am happy you found your gem
Thanks for this. Live about 2.5 hours away in Hampton and really want to move to the DMV area. These prices make me want to get a house in NOVA instead of getting an apartment.
I just received a job offer in dc and am trying to find housing! how did you find this spot? trying to keep things under $1800/mon as well
Congrats!! And I found my place through: www.zillow.com :)
I know this is a year later, however, I love the apartment you chose! Lots of character and potential for you to not outgrow the space for quite a while!!!
Thank you!! Yes, I'm really happy with it. It's a nice space & perfect for this season of my life :)
You have a great apartment and have curated a lovely home!
The chosen apt is, well, awful. Also, talk a little less.
I loved them all but if you don't get a good vibe wen your there, then it's not 4u...I also luv the character of the one you got!!! congrats!!!
im moving to DC in April with this exact budget, thanks
Nice places! Did any of these have parking included/available?
I'm about 95% positive they did! I don't have a car though
@@maddydesign Cool thanks. I really want to be able to keep a car. I appreciate your response and insights on the apartments. All the best. -- Cheers.
Do you know if this sunscreen is chemical or physical??
Your skin looks beautiful Maddy. Koreans have beautiful complexions. Have a great week. Hugs 💗
Good job
. I understand wanting to be safe and not sharing details of your location BUT for people looking for ideas of nice neighborhoods this was not at all helpful.
Georgetown, Dupont, and areas around Eastern Market are probably the best. I recommend staying away from Noma/Columbia Heights, Navy Yard, and certain areas in Capitol Hill
@@maddydesign thank you! My daughter is in Noma but is looking for an affordable place she can afford on her own. Any tips would be greatly appreciated!
@@mjp2615 I would recommend looking on www.zillow.com! There are affordable places in Georgetown and Dupont ... but sometimes sacrifices have to be made (a view, washer and dryer, dishwasher, etc.) Making a list of what she wants out of an apartment helps too! Also super important - if it's an older apartment building don't get anything on a lower floor. Wishing you guys the best of luck :)
I can’t even find a studio for $1800
Zillow is very helpful (www.zillow.com)! I got my place for $1800 because I kinda had to sacrifice a dishwasher and washer & dryer. I thought it was worth it though!
the apartment you chose reminds me of a classic nyc apartment! i can see why you chose it
Congratulations for your new apt 🎉
You picked the one gem of out of a sea of sameness. Tons of personality - enjoy decorating!
I live in NW D.C. - 3rd & Minnesota . . . Safe area, much renovations in a two block area making neighborhood even more inviting. With front yard & back yard, 1st floor apt RENT - $1,100/month, including utilities ! 😎 🇺🇲 🏠
That’s a great deal!
Would love to see a move in series!!!
working on that now!
NOMA! Is that what they calling this neighborhood now 🤣🤣 Chile DC is still the hood be safe Queen. Born and raised here, don’t let these pretty building fool you.
love this so much! also, love the makeup look !!
thank you 💕
why are you looking at singles and bachelor units instead of actual one bedroom units ?
I looked at anything that was within my price range! The apartment I ended up getting is a 1 bedroom :)
That apt is it! Just found your channel. Can’t wait for more videos
An apartment makeover video is coming soon :)
I’m impressed that you were able to find a 1 bedroom apartment in DC in a safe area for $1,800. Congratulations! NOMA is up and coming but the noise must have been incredible. My niece works in DC at the World Bank. She lived in Foggy Bottom for 7-8 yrs. She loved the area. They are still on the 3 days work from home and 2 days in office. I just can’t imagine the traffic when all the workers return to M-F.
I'm surprised I found it for that price too!! With gas, electricity, & internet it's going to be more like $1,900 a month. Foggy Bottom is a beautiful area - much safer than NoMa! And yes, loving the hybrid schedule for work right now & hopping it stays that way. The traffic can sometimes get really bad!
@@maddydesign I live in Southern Maryland. We were at Washington Hospital weekend before last. At 11 am traffic was moving, but just moving. It took almost 1/2 an hr to get to the South Capitol Street bridge circle. Thank goodness the Nationals Season hadn’t started.
@@Freaysclaw56 that's crazy! Definitely DC traffic though unfortunately
It's so sad that the hard flooring is popular in apartments. It creates so much noise. Carpets are the way to go for apartment buildings.
They stain too easily and wear down quickly. Area rugs can be used to buffer noise on hardwoods.
There's NOTHING modern about a tub. A shower stall with a seat is MODERN! The concept of tubs is so passe.
Beautiful apartment! You found the one that truly spoke to you ❤
The heart wants what it wants even if it defies logic ❤️
loved it!
At least laundry is in the building
true!
I would have chosen the same one. Historic with character! 😊
Beautiful I loved the second one personally for me. But your apartment is lovely x
I’m thrilled for you Maddy. It’s very charming and can’t wait to see how you decorate it.❤️
