Badinerie (Bach), SV2 Rhodes, Left Hand in manner of Pop

J.S. Bach, Badinerie from the orchestral suite in b Minor. The left hand is played in the manner of Pop. I play the piece without the prescribed repetitions - for modern TH-camrs in a hurry.

A synth with aftertouch (or an expression pedal for the MODX) would have been better for the right hand to add some modulation.
That’s a good idea. Thanks for watching!
If your version of the theme is correct, I‘ve played it wrong for nearly 50 years. 🫣 Anyway, sounds amazing. 👍
You can hear the original recording of Freddy Hubbard on TH-cam!
In this Video I play this prelude very fast to create a special church organ effect on the piano (with a lot of sustain pedal). But I created this effect a few years ago originally on an accoustic Piano, where it works really better. On a digital Piano it is very difficult. Anyway I tried it here.
Brave! Encore!
Many thanks!
Vieel zu langsam! Doppelt do schnell wäre besser. Bach hätte seine Freunde dran....
Hello Andreas! You can actually play this piece at any tempo: Slow, medium or fast. Here I play it very fast to create a special church organ effect on the piano.
The unique bred outta all brands of electric pianos easily presents to us the same beauty of bach❤🎉
Many thanks!!
sehr Glen-goldig. schöner Swing! go on Peter!!!!!!!!!!!
Thank you very much!
I love Korg sv-2❤
😊😊😊
👏 great job 🎵👏
Thank you very much!
Beautiful performance 😊
Thank you!
Wonderful 🎵
Many thanks!
Beautiful sound it’s so organic & rich. Inspiring to listen to. Great playing too sir.
Thank you!
Hi Peter, ich möchte mir auch ein SV2 (73) zulegen, bist du zufrieden?
You got it, Sir!
Thanks!
oy yes!!! I experimented with it too! I find that Bach sounds really good on Rhodes piano!
Thank you very much! Yes, Badinerie is one of the best pieces of Bach (- but all pieces of Bach are the best!)
This is cool, man! Congrats
Many thanks!
😊

schöne Version, gut gespielt!
Many thanks!
New cut!
I play this piece of music (Badinerie) without the prescribed repetitions - for modern TH-camrs in a hurry! The left hand is played in the manner of Pop.
Autumn Leaves is a very beautiful piece. I have the theme refreshed with some new chords! It appears in the second half of the video.
What would the patch be called if it was on a dx7?
The sound in this video is reprogrammed in MODX on an FM basis. Most of the sounds in MODX are combination sounds of some different sounds. There is also a little reverb effect and a chorus effect. I believe a similar sound in the DX7 was called FM E Piano.
In the bridge I used the following chords: In bar 4 Bb 7/b5, in bar 8 Bb sus 7, in bar 10 Gb 13 and F13, in bar 12 Ab7 with the 7 in the bass and Gb7 with the 7 in the bass, in bar 15 Db 9 and Dbsus 7/9. In the 4 Last bars of the piece: Db over B7, Gb over C7, Bb7/13 and so on. the Main Theme Part before: in the Last 4 Bars: A#5 with B in the Bass, Gb Minor with F in the Bass, then Bbsus and Bb2. All the other Bars the Real Book chords or other chords that you can easily recognize by ear.
Awesome. Thanks!
You're welcome!
You play with class man... Sounds amazing
Thanks a lot!
It sounds sensational, I like it a lot, greetings from Mexico 🇲🇽
Glad you enjoy it!
Hi Pete, well played and that keyboard sounds amazing. Thanks for sharing. LIKED & SUBSCRIBED.
Thanks a lot!
You need a more stable stand.
I know. It's not a problem for me when playing. Thanks for the tip!
True
🔥🔥
Thanks!
Sounds like Law and Order theme lol
beautiful
Thanks!
NICE PIANO SOUND!😊
I have the SV1 and it already has excellent Rhodes tones! I can imagine how wonderful it is to play on SV2!
It really is!
just a beautiful composition with a very spanish touch; Gracias para este
Many thanks!
K bella tu música saludo cordial desde Dominicana ❤😂😂
Many thanks!
beautiful melancholy! a straigtforward interpretatioin of this song dedecated to Leste Young. Thank you for that!
Thank you very much!
Как то не понятно вы играете.
I explain my playing Under the comment „I love it man“ . Look the third answer!
I am often surprised how good my Korg SV2 sounds when recorded. The sound with the built in speakers is only a poor alternative.
In the Real Book are three chords totaly wrong! In the bar 6 is the right chord Bmaj7/b5 and in the bar 7 Bb-7/b5 and in bar 12 F#sus7. In 2 other bars there are any Variations: bar 15 I play A7/#9/#5 and bar 16 Eb13/b9/b5.
Excellent !!
Many thanks!
Ein echtes Rhodes klingt doch noch besser, obwohl der Sound echt gut ist ❤
Yes, that may be. A few years ago I played the Rhodes Mk I myself for 10 years. It‘s realy a great Instrument!
Good ✨
Sounds great! Is this the Mark 2 Stage-Sample?
Yes, so it is!
Currently saving up for an upgrade from my beginner digital piano havent decided on a model to buy yet. I'm torn between the Korg VS2 and the CK88. leaning hard towards the CK88 because it's so much cheaper. anyone have advice?
Thanks for watching! Buy the Keyboard, wich is the best for your project. Please note the different piano touch and good weighted keys (You must test it!) and the different weights of the keyboards! (The SV2-73 2S with speakers have a weight of 20 Kilo and the SV2-88 2S with speakers of ca. 23 Kilo.) Also Important is a good feeling by playing the Keyboard!
Lovely sounding keyboard, love it, well played.
great stuff!!
Thanks!
Make a stand that doesn't shake, that machine costs too much for standard stand.
Thanks for the good Suggestion!
That's just how x stands are. Z stands are usually more stable but less portable.
That machine cost more that a decent used baby grand. If you're using it in a studio or home setting: Make a stable stand. Watching a keyboard wobble is a bad look. I know thousands of performers do it on the road. But at home it should be like a rock. @itsallinyourheadbiotch
@Keith-zc2nn nah not everyone has room for a permanent stand
It takes up the same area. That doesn't make sense. If it's in a studio or a dwelling permanently, you should have a permanent setting. Anyone who doesn't is settling for instability. Instability is only good if you're trying to create confusion. @@StopWars420
