Used to play this game a lot when I was a kid. You could easily play all day on one quarter if you were good enough due to how easy it was to get specials and replays on this pin.

Tee'd Off and Super Mario Bros. (not the Mushroom World version) are Gottlieb's two best tables imo. I'm not sure how pinheads feel about Tee'd Off but I know they loathe Super Mario Bros., but customizing some of the table's settings such as setting Quick Shot to Hard and putting the table to "Add a ball" mode makes it a really good ruleset and fun table imo.

I saw Viking with Gorgar at a Finn and Feather resort in Bemedji, MN in 1987.

This bring back memories! Black Knight was the only pinball machine I played routinely in the 80's. It was unique the sounds, multi-level and the magnet save. Thanks for the post.

Hey I just realised you must be the Adam Becker who won Pinburgh last year. Congratulations. I could do with some lessons on nudging from you but this vid shows your skills off quite well. Could you describe the movement you make to push the ball away from the outlanes? Is it a rattle from side to side or a upwards nudge?

Sounds like a plan, sounds like we'll get an earlier opportunity if you are coming to MPE as well.

Roy, I'm sure every game you've ever played ever was always awesome. But there were higher scoring games in earlier games it just so happens this one was less then stellar

well i gotta say 1 thing about it,. and that is that the prize pool is kinda huge.. compared with our dutch standards its big.! well i would attended this if i lived a bit closer to canada! but i will come out for next pinburgh and papa.. as they are 3/4 days events.. makes it worthwhile enough to me come out all the way from europe. and i also feel that that 1 big huge shove not getting tilted was wrong,it was an bit outrageous thou.. u gotta admit that! ive got punished for way less

wow even without the knowledge how to actually play this game.. i think u guys basically all sucked playing this X-Men.. i dont want to be mean or offend any of u guys but if u look at it technically.. u got to agree it was 1 big flail fest goin on! i expected to see some true pinball play on video in the finals.. where was robert gagno in this?

black knight was in service way before robotron.. so, the sounds from robotron may resemble black knight...

I have so many fond memories of my Dad's BFF having this table in his game room along with the other pinball tables he has as well. I guess you could say he's a "Pinball Wizard".

Those GI and lighting effects are absolutely awesome half-way through the video.Love the relay pulse noise on these old tables. And the BELLLLLLL!!!!!. That would scare the bejeebus out of you the first time that went off! Really good ploy to get people to come over and watch the game in the arcade.

Williams' 1980's sounds and pinball. I may have a hard time considering pinball as correct any other way now.

I remember playing this as a kid. Thanks to pinball hall of game williams collection. I can relive the memories if some of my favorite machines like this one. Without having to cough up the quaters. I wanted to give black knight 2000 a try.

I really do like the white flipper bats on this game, but it's too bad they don't make a white one for the top flipper with it's long shaft that's specific for this game to match.
