    I think a significant part of why the ito seems a little loose is due to the false samegawa. The real stuff grips better.

    • @talesoftheblades3289

      Well, I can´t say anything to that, but in my experience the wrapping needs time and a littlebit of strengh to do it tight. But Working Time is expensive, so this is maybe also an explaination for loose knots.

      No. An Iaito is never sharp, it's alloys are soft. Only steel blades could be sharpend. Tozando also sells shinken which are sharp.

  • @xwing8029

    Maybe edge like that is because of some laws in Germany? I wouldnt be surprised if this blade was imported dull and edge was put in shop. In another videos from other countries edge looks to be normal.

      @raidbossnunu 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      You can buy a katana in Germany if you are 18 years old. You are not allowed to have it publicly but there are no laws that say how sharp it can or can't be.

    I think you did that actually very well. I have bought an Iaito a couple years ago for 400 € and I was very disappointed, because even that one was kind o cheap work. The parts didn´t fit well, the Sword itself was adjusted in a lousy way... I found that out, after some months, then the tsuka started to rattle. Today I adjusted some parts, so it works now. But last week a bought a new one from tozando, about 500€. And I think, that that one will be at least good and fine work. I believe, that the price for an Iaito doesn´t even matter so much. It is more important, where you buy it. I searched for some days on the internet, but Tozando seemed to me do be the only shop, which is actually reliable.

      This Commentator gives advice for handling a japanese Katana. Never touch the blade or speak to it due to spittle or acid of the fingerprints can lead to rust on the blade. After watching the blade you should apply a thin layer of oil to the blade. my Response: Thank you for the advice and of course would a real japanese blade spent that much of attention as mentioned. But YariNoHanzo is an italien based company and the blade are mostly made from modern steel, which is not that sensitive as the historical Katanas from japan. Also I cleaned and oiled it afterwards for storage the blade.
