Hi Graham, how many days was your expedition in total? We're gearing up for this trip in May and looking at 7 days maximum, hopefully with a hike or two in the mix.

We did it over 7 days with 3-trip portages, with one of these days out to climb Slioch. The final day was just a short hop back across Loch Maree. I hope the weather is kind to you, and you have a great trip. G

@@grahamwarren7807 Fantastic. Trying to guage how much additional play time there is, and that's very helpful. Thank you very much.

What a thoroughly enjoyable video, very well done lads 🛶🙂👌 After doing lochs Marie and Ewe in a leisurely 9 day trip, I've always fancied doing this route. I'd be solo in a 17' open canoe so that last portage, with a fat-tyred trolley, would be soul destroying I think. Cheers 👍

Thanks for your kind comments. I think the second two portages would both be very tough with a trolley. If you have the chance to use a light canoe you can carry up top, then I would strongly recommend this.G.

@@grahamwarren7807 yes, you've confirmed what I already suspected. I could always wait for a friend to have enough time off work to tandem with me. Or buy a Nova Craft Pack 😂 Thanks for your time and advice 👍🛶

Excellent video Graham, and the fact it is 75% portaging reflects the experience well! The Pirates will have to return to check out your first two lochs sometime too. The very best part of the world. Don't tell anyone!

Absolutely fantastic! What a feat this must have been! Well done. I'm planning a Loch Maree / Fionn trip - in a sea kayak. But to lug a canoe across to Fada... WOW! Impressive!

Amazing effort guys. We did Veyatie, Fionn, Scionnoscaig last year and looking to do this come May. Just how bad is that middle prtage? doesn't look for the faint of heart but we're up for the challenge! Love your blog btw

We built up to the portages by doing lots of easier routes and refining our gear to give really effective padding to our shoulders when carrying the canoe. Hope your trip goes/went well.

@@grahamwarren7807 Hi, just wanted to thank you for posting your video. It inspired my son and me to do it. We completed the same route as you 2 weeks ago. I have lots of respect for you both, the portages were quite brutal with our hire canoe weighing in at nearly 40 kilos! Thankfully the weather was fairly kind for most of the trip - at least until the last day when we had to endure a strong headwind on Loch Maree for the last 4 miles back to the car. Overall a great adventure though, thanks for the inspiration!
