Hey everyone! In this video, me and Kat share with you our experience in using the Too Good To Go app for the very first time. We had a lot of fun using this app, since we got to checkout 4 different Seattle businesses that we’ve never been to before. We picked-up some chocolate ($5.99) from Theo Chocolate in Fremont, got tasty American Halal food from The Halal Guys in South Lake Union ($3.99)...
Smoked Salmon Ochazuke Recipe (Smoked Seafood) - Pure Food Fish Market - Pike Place Market Seattle
มุมมอง 3162 ปีที่แล้ว
Ochazuke is my favorite way to eat smoked seafood, especially smoked salmon. Ochazuke is a simple Japanese dish made by pouring green tea over steamed rice with savory toppings. In Japanese, "ocha" means tea and "zuke" means to submerge, so ochazuke literally means to submerge in tea. For this video, I used smoked seafood that I got from Pure Food Fish Market, which is located inside Pike Place...

How to Collect Clams and Oysters at Tolmie State Park
Great review!
Thanks for showing me this, appreciate all the detail on how to harvest these little gems!
What beach are you watching from, cause that is a really good view
I wonder if there is a difference between East Coast New England area oysters and how to shuck then from the West Coast. Having shucked probably well over sixty thousand oysters each year working at a seafood restaurant on the Cape every year as a teen (and I had the forearms and grip strength to prove it) I can honestly say that I never shucked an oyster the way that you are doing it as that is the strongest part of the shells connection. Help me understand how wand why you were taught that way.
We've been waiting for new videos. Too busy?
Sorry for not uploading new videos recently. I do plan on uploading new videos this summer, so please stay tuned. Thx for watching!
Can't believe you made a 53 minutes video and didn't implement at least a catch clean and cook but the videos i like are the U-Tubers that are showing in detail how good they really taste how they cooking them up in some good recipes so your video has nothing different than everyone else's got to be more creative
Thanks for your feedback. I actually got a grill for my boat, so definitely plan on cooking some crabs this season. Stay tuned!
Good video just subscribed to your channel good luck
Thank you!
Why you didnt take the ones trapped in the bag
The oysters in the bag are someone else's private property. They are usually planted by someone living on the water near the beach.
@@genjster but their trapped in a bag on the ground in a park
@@yo6687 similar to someone else's car being parked on a public road ... just because it's parked on a public road, doesn't mean you can take what's inside the car. Taking the oysters would be considered illegal poaching.
@genjster that's a little different though because these oysters are wild animals trapped in a man made bag on the ground in a public park
@@yo6687 the oyster seeds are actually purchased and then placed in the bag, so not really wild. But if you have any further questions, you should contact WDFW, since they are the government agency that enforces the applicable rules and regulations. Thanks!
Let me come kick it wit u
AMAZING VIDEO! Please make more this crabbing season! I live in the area
Thank you! Yes, more videos coming this year.
Lengua looks good
Thank you for your video.
Where u get that boat from?
The boat brand is Porta-Bote. The company is located in Canada, but they sell them at boat shows and ship them to the U.S.A. Depending on where you live, you might be able to find a used one from Craigslist or one of the other online marketplaces.
I’m a regular at la fondita. The amount of food they give you for 15$ or so is a great value! That’s why I keep coming back and the food is consistent
Yes, I agree! La Fondita is a great value and their meats are very good. If I lived closer to White Center, I would definitely be going there more often. The Best Roasted Corn Stand next door is also a bonus.
Also I dont see how the oysters are able to sustain the people who catch them if you guys are harvesting over the same oyster beds? Are the oysters all harvested in that same area or were they further out near the waters edge?
The oyster beds are fairly far out on the beach, so you can only reach them during low tides. The oyster beds cover a fairly large area, although a good portion of the bed are empty shells (the law requires you to leave the shells on the beach to help propagate future oysters). There's also a legal limit to how many oysters a person can harvest.
what kind of oyster are those that were caught?
I'm not positive, but I believe they were Pacific Oysters. That's a common variety in Puget Sound.
Thanks for the video ! Gonna visit soon and hopefully can visit some of these spots.
Thanks for taking the time to comment! Hopefully you get nice weather while you are in Seattle. Lots of good eats!
@@genjster have y’all tried Maiz Molino? I’ve seen a few recommendations for it. My apologies if you already made a video about it. Haven’t had a chance to go through em yet.
@@ContrerasCorner Sorry, we've never been to Maiz Molino, but it looks good. Fyi ... a Mexican restaurant on my "next to try list" is Asadero, which is a Mexican steakhouse with 2 locations: Asadero Ballard in Seattle and Asadero Prime in Kent (about 20 miles south of Seattle). I've heard good things about their carne asada and wagyu tacos. Please note that Asadero is in the $$$ range, so it's more expensive than Maiz Molino. Ballard is a cute neighborhood with a very good Ballard Farmers Market on Sundays, and also the Ballard Locks (you can watch boats pass through the locks and it's one of Seattle's most popular free attractions -- just be sure to read the parking signs and pay for parking if required). Have fun while visiting Seattle!
We ended up visiting Snoqualmie Falls and in the town they had a really good Oaxacan restaurant (Caadxi Oaxac). If y’all ever make the drive there. We just ate the Mole and we did eat the Molina. They do have a spot at Pikes market as well , next door to the first Starbucks.
@@ContrerasCorner Thanks for the tip on Caadxi Oaxac ... the food looks good. Snoqualmie Falls is beautiful and the town of Snoqualmie is real cute with the trains and stores. How did you like Maiz Molina at Pike Place? Did you enjoy the food there?
Really enjoyed your cool video. However, your music is just horrible. LOL But really, great work. Thanks!
Thanks! I'm glad you enjoyed the video.
Que rico!!
Thank you!
Thanks for putting your sheet in the middle of a navigational lane !! So nice how u cause so much damage to ppls boats.
Nice thing is there are plenty of friends in Seattle to share your tacos with.....Seattle's booming homeless population.
you got great weather out there
Sad halal guys is no longer in the app. Guess they got kicked off
Thanks for the update. I'm not sure why they aren't currently on the Too Good To Go app. It's possible the restaurant just decided to take a break from the app. It's too bad ... that was a great deal.
Lived on D dock for 5 years ion the 90s... They rebuilt and the cool restaurants and bars are gone. Pretty souless now like the rest of my hometown..
thank you so much for mentioning the location as well. Many youtubers would not do that and it is frustrating! Really appreciated! Just subscribed to your channel!
Thanks for your comment and subscribing! Always good to share location ... especially since there are so many great places to see in the PNW. Have fun and be safe!
Very good cinematography….. And I study the principles of the Juche…taught by the DEAR LEADER. 🎥 🎞 👍 🦀
Thank you!
Looking forward to visiting this market.
Very nice market in the U-District. The Ballard Farmers Market is also nice and is bigger with more food options.
My backyard ♥.
Lucky to have Shilshole Bay as your backyard. Beautiful views and great walks!
The social unrest of 2020, COVID and crime policies of seattle really took a tool in this mall. How freaking sad. This is the failure of the city of seattle
It was definitely a bit strange walking through Pacific Place and seeing a lot of the empty retail spaces. I heard there were plans to convert some of the retail spaces to office spaces, but not sure when that's going to happen. Would be nice to see more food vendors, since that tends to attract more people and creates a more lively atmosphere.
Went to this market 3 months ago. Great walk Tour! New subcri to your channel!
Thanks for your comment and subscribing! The udistrict farmers market is great.
Crabs not too plentiful, but the ones you kept fit on your platter real nice!! Great video!!
Yes, and the crabs were delicious too! Thanks for your comment!
The tacos from the first place looks really delicious.
Yes, the tacos at Taqueria La Fondita are delicious! I went there again a few weeks ago and really enjoyed the meal. We also got a fruit cocktail from the roasted corn stand next door and that was also very good.
I really enjoyed it Thank you. Looks so different since I was last there in 2003.
Thanks for your comment. Yes, it has changed a lot in the past 10 years or so. Especially the food court areas and the addition of the grocery store (Seafood City).
Very cool video captures you do an amazing job at editing and making the whole experience super fun!
Thanks for your comment. I'm glad you enjoyed the video. Just got a new (old) boat, so planning on new videos for next year.
Nice...Do more when a storm is blowing in November!
Thanks for your comment. I like your idea of watching the boats blow in the wind. Might have to give that a try. 👍
When do the Cherries usually start their bloom? I can't remember, but I did graduate as a Husky in 1978!
Thanks for your comment. The cherry blossoms usually begin blooming in early March, and reach peak bloom around the 3rd week of March. However, depending on the weather, the peak bloom can occur earlier or later each year.
nice video! i like it
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed the video.
Great show 👍 do the bigger crab fight off smaller crabs it looked like you had more with less soak time? Looks like the crabs could fall out when getting them out.
Thanks for your comment! Yes, crabs do fight in the cage sometimes. But they are usually too busy eating. 🤣 if there are a lot of crabs around, then soak times can be really short. Otherwise, you might have to increase soak time to an hour or more. The smaller crabs can fall out of the pot while pulling it up, but they are usually under the size limit anyways.
GoPro under water is fantastic,.
Thanks for your comment! It was really interesting to watch the crabs enter the pot w/ the GoPro. I was surprised to see how fast they entered.
Love the video, staying at Graduate on Monday, any recommendations for local coffee shops "No Starbucks" in the university district, trying to enjoy the area eating out and walking around, been to the university few times.
Thanks for the comment. Sorry for the late reply. If you are still in town, you should try Cafe Allegro for coffee/expresso (located at 4214 University Way NE). It's a bit hidden, since the entrance is located in the alley between University Way NE and 15th Ave NE (between NE 42nd St and NE 43rd St). Cafe Allegro is Seattle's oldest expresso bar and they roast their own coffee.
Thanks for the video! It was a lot of fun watching with my family.
Thanks for the comment! Glad you enjoyed the video.
I'm jealous too! Keep up the good work
Thanks for the comment! Summer crabbing season just started, so hopefully get more crabs soon.
Great video! Very informative and helpful, and the go-pro shots are a fantastic way to see what actually happens. Thank you!
Thank you for your comment! I'm glad you enjoyed the video. It's definitely surprising to see how fast the crabs find and enter the pots.
Wow Amazing chocolates , that's a great bargain. I love this app too good to go.. $5.99 for the chocolates that's good price. USA always have a lot of food.. Good job guys for helping in reducing food waste and definitely saves money. All the best
Thank you for your comment! Yes, the Too Good To Go app is great. Hopefully it continues to grow and do well. It's fun trying new things on the app. Of course, Theo Chocolate is one of our favorites!
I'm Blessed 🙌 😇 🙏 by God
Thank you!
Thank you for a beautiful video. Had fun watching those crabs getting trapped 😋
Thanks for your comment! I'm glad you enjoyed watching the video. It's always exciting pulling up the pots to see what's inside.
