Skydio 2 Testing Broken Yota Trail Repair
Looking forward to seeing the completed work!
What size are the bolts that attached the Maine bumper piece to the frame?
So it's the center section isn't actually attached the frame, the entire bumper is actually entirely mounted on to the body. The bolts you were asking for should be 12mm but can be different.
What size tires did the Gladiator have? I run 35s and am thinking about hitting this one in a few weeks.
She was run 37s on this trip. But most of the crew was running either 35s/315s and everyone got through.
Thanks for the link. I have been looking for cheap flares, after doing the SAS I could use some wider flares.
You're welcome, one point id make is super glue the liner on and which route did you take for the SAS?
@@TheProjectNomad I completed the SAS about 2-3 years ago, I copied what is now the tahoverlanding axle swap. super easy.
So the exact same route I'll be taking in the future. I love Tahoeoverlander kits, just haven't gotten around to getting one yet, or fabing one.
@@TheProjectNomad Tripp is a great guy. I was the first person to take on the "Tahoverlandingswap" he didn't have any products available at that time so I had to source from different companies. He helped me out every step of the way even when I wasn't purchasing anything from him. That is the reason I am proud to recommend his products.
I was sold on him as a person the second he was just giving information out on how to do the sas. That's a genuine act.
Nice work! looks pretty similar to my burb. Keep up the good work!
Thanks man, and I got to check out your rig when I get a chance. And man it's so hard to find anything for these rigs, almost everything is a diy build.
@@TheProjectNomad yes it is.
Everyone LOVES lifted Suburbans never sell it you'll regret it!
Never planning on it, I'm building it out to be a full size overlander that can go almost any where.
Nice "how to". What brand of lights do you have on the roof light bar? I really like the round look.
Thank you, they are these lights here amzn.to/3AEAEmq They are 7in rounds I bought 2 sets of 4, only used 6 for my roof, so I could have the spares go on a different project.
@@TheProjectNomad Great, thank you! So, you must have made your own mount?
Sorry for the late reply, but yes everything is mounted on to my roof rack.
The forward most bolt for the air compressor bracket is removed by inserting a socket and extension from the inner side of the rail to the nut that is inside the frame. There should be an access hole there.
When I was initially doing the build, I did say I couldn't get access to it but after I did find what you were telling me out. The issue I found was the nut had been rounded off. It looks like the previous owner had tried to remove the compressor as well and wasn't successful. I think I'm just going to grind the head off and pop it off the next time I remove this bumper.
Robert is the man!! Can't believe you flew your drone while it was snowing LOL! Cool vid!
Thanks man, I appreciate the love. And Yeah bother, got to take the opportunity when it presents self.
Don’t care much for seeing all the screw holes that have to be put in
🔥👏
Awesome day on the trail, Casey and I had a great time meeting all of the crew! Thanks for including the Taco!!
Dude, it was awesometo meet you. And to top it, it was awesome to see that rig just working it's magic. That thing is a fantastic build.
Dude that looks dope ❤❤❤
Thanks bruh
Ever used a Rough Country hidden winch tray on a suburban? Looks like an awesome / easy setup. Hard to believe you can make the approach angle of a Sub any worse but that's what I've heard. Still...haven't seen anyone do a good video on them. Great work man! keep it up!
Thank you, but don't get me wrong. The approach angle is bad, even with lift keys and even replacing the indexing bolt for longer ones to max it out again it's nearly the same as stock. We chose the ARB Bumpers primarily because they can take a hit and they are air bag rated, but with an end goal of doing a solid axle swap in mind, raising the front won't be an issue, so it solves the approach angle. "Hopefully"
Just purchased mine ! Cant wait to install.
Good to hear, it's been so useful it's not funny, I'm sure you'll enjoy it.
Thanks for this video. I really wanted to visit this mine, but even with its higher clearance and X mode, I don't think my Subaru Crosstrek Sport could handle it. I am not experienced enough to risk it.
No problem brother. But on this trip, we did end up going the much longer and much more difficult way around to the mine, but if you were to come in from the park's main entrance, and get to these cooridnates (34.02257, -115.67661) at least. This route still relatively flat, more akin to washboard roads, and some sand. Now getting there it, makes hiking to the brooklyn mine, and the surrounding structures really possible, especially if you choose to camp there. But if you were to get to those cooridnates, you could also choose to porceed via your rig towards the mine. It's before dropping in to lower wash that leads to the main mine, or ascending up towards a different set of mines before reconnect to the lower portion later on. But it would be at your discretion at that point. I hope this information helps you out more.
🎉🎉🎉🎉 👌
Thanks for showing my dirty garage
You welcome
Nicely done sir!
Thank you, I appreciate the love. I do try to make good sliders for our rigs.
I've seen videos of this area a 100 times, your video is very good and never gets old watching this again from a different view. I'm about 500 subscribers behind you. I subscribed to your channel
Thanks Brother!! I just try to give the same things we've always seen before a different spin, and vibe. As well as trying to make it an interesting narrative.
The views and location is mind blowing. So beautifu!
Done this trail many times-fun place to explore.
It was fun, I just didn't expect to be put on off camber Hill for most of the run in.
Looks like a great starting project for me building for myself
Honestly it is a relatively simple project, there are many moving parts, and a lot of parts just lock into place. The only issue I had was was just the amount of material being handled.
Nice suburban! Couple questions for you. 1) how is the fit of the flares? Looks like they fit pretty nicely. 2) I have that same front bumper, I love it. But what lights did you put in the corner light/blinker location? They look great!
Sorry for the late response. So to start... 1) the flares are aftermarket, so the fit isn't a prefect as an oem, but having the provided rubber gasket makes the transition to the body a whole lot better. I do think having different gasket with a larger transition lip would be better fit. 2) Yeah we actually removed the ARB turn signal lights, and openned the slots up a little to fit flush fit amber lights, I would put a link to the lights them selves, but they are no longer avaliable. But if you follow this amazon link it should bring you to a light that is similar, a.co/d/drNj5oi
@@TheProjectNomad No worries! Thanks for getting back to me. My flares actuallt showered up today. Really quite pleased with the quality. The fronts fit perfectly. The rears took a tiny bit more effort, but still went on great. And thank you for the link! I appreciate the feedback, info, and the great vid. Thank you!
