LuAZ-969 "Volyn": a success story or a mistake?
LuAZ-969 "Volyn": a success story or a mistake?
The LuAZ-969, also known as the Volyn, is a unique car that has exceptional off-road qualities. It is able to bypass such well-known models as UAZ, Niva and Hummer.
The history of the LuAZ-969 began in the Soviet airborne forces, where it was used due to its cross-country capability. Then he became popular in the countryside and even won international awards.
However, in the 1990s, LOISE-969 went into oblivion, never gaining widespread recognition. This is surprising, because the launch of such a car into mass production can be compared to an attempt to convert a Proton rocket into a walking steam locomotive for a children's park or a nuclear submarine into a washing machine. Of course, it sounds funny, but in fact there is no guarantee that the result will be a really cool steam locomotive or a unique washing machine.
In this article, we will look at the history of the amazing LuAZ-969 Volyn car and try to understand whether it was an incredible success or a fatal mistake.

AN-2: a symbol of Soviet aviation and its role in world history
มุมมอง 3.7Kหลายเดือนก่อน
"The An-2 is my great luck," Chief designer Oleg Konstantinovich Antonov once said. On March 6, 1946, the Novosibirsk Aircraft Factory named after Chkalov was established for the development of civil and transport aviation. Oleg Konstantinovich Antonov was appointed Chief designer. The bureau's first project was the agricultural aircraft SHM-1 (later renamed AN-2). Order No. 94 justification of...
GAZ-66 "Shishiga": the legend of Soviet roads and its connection with popular beliefs.
มุมมอง 2Kหลายเดือนก่อน
GAZ-66 is one of the most prominent representatives of the domestic automotive industry. This unusual truck, released more than half a century ago, can still be found on the roads of our country. The popular name of the car has two explanations: In Russian legends, a cone is a creature related to a kikimore, living near forest rivers and swamps. GAZ-66 felt at home in such conditions, and the t...
A storm of emotions from the giant: why did everyone scatter when launching the MAZ-537?
มุมมอง 16Kหลายเดือนก่อน
When the driver launched the Soviet MAZ-537 truck, everyone scattered around. The Kurgan Plant of Wheeled Vehicles named after D. M. Karbyshev (KZKT) became the main supplier of heavy four-axle tractors for the Soviet Army. Its history began during the Great Patriotic War, when it was a division of the Kurgan Machine Plant, where agricultural enterprises were evacuated. In 1959, the plant was c...
"Ural-375 is a symbol of the power and reliability of Soviet technology"
มุมมอง 3.8K3 หลายเดือนก่อน
In the middle of the 20th century, Soviet engineers were faced with the task of creating a car that could overcome difficult terrain and carry heavy loads. Thus began the history of the creation of the legendary Ural-375 car.
why are there no trucks like this in Indonesia
Belarusians make really cool trucks. My favorite is the Russian Ural military trucks.
There are some interesting film clips here, but the narration is AI garbage.
Millitary : we need big tractor truck for towing tanks Engineers: Ok we will make it big, Military: How big??? Engineers: as big as to accomodate a TANK ENGINE under the hood...simple!!
Terrible machine. Attempt to civilize miliary TPC. Absolute fail, unusable at all. First of all due to zhaporozhets engine, but everything else is not better.
just mute AI voiceover
How does the AN-2 compare to the DeHavilland Beaver?
It's on my bucket list to go for a flight in one!
I meant four wings!😊
Nice plane so retro Two wings are better than one.😊
If it does its job its a good airplane. But there may be better ones, though. There are definitely better planned uploads, of that there is no doubt. 😅
I love the Annie.
5:48 "the use of flaps helps to accelerate the acceleration." Man, that AN2 invented 2 more dimensions.
Why is this nondescript car able to bypass both the UAZ, the Field, and the Hummer
Why they call it a car it's a truck
How does a plane land half an hour AFTER the flight? What has it been doing in the meantime?
Vodka!
Per h ,,,, stoping watching your video.
Tractour?
Tractor is basically what we call a lorry that tows a trailer
MAZ,Minskiiskiy Abtomobilist Zavod,means Automobilist Plant of Minsk,actually Belarus,the true monster trucks,nice video!Greetings from Brazil!
The synthetic speech is laughable. And the images and film-clips are very often irrelevant to the script. Total joke.
Eventually text-to-speech systems will reach the level of being able to recognize English. The cringeworthy failures like "kilometers per H", the way the narration fades in slowly when the subject changes, and stilted presentation all combine to render it laughable.
indeed the plane at 19:48 is Baikal LMS-901. still some nice footage you dont find on youtube though.
Thanks for watching!
The Czech. Tatra. Kick ass
Stingers!
MAZ 537
The Russian monster who inspired fear among others
No. Belarusian.
Looks like our current 5 tons circa 1996
This C A R is amazing. 👍
The narrator is completely unbiased.
What is there to be unbiased about. No one denies that Ural trucks are among the most reliable trucks that can operate for years without taking them to a mechanic I think you don't know about the reputation of Ural Trucks It is one of the best trucks, especially for civilian use, especially in Siberia, which has the most difficult geography in the world
Too bad they only made these small compact cars. If they had only made a full sized car.
There are Ural trucks like this but larger. Search on Google for all models of Ural trucks. You will like the new model that uses the TOS system
Gets 5 gallons per mile too
Это покоритель Заполярья!
can anybody please count for me how many times ural 375 is mentioned here ? 😂
16
They should have kept producing this legend until year 2106.
Хуевый но вечный автомобиль, на базе хорошего но не вечного фиата
Очередная "галоша"? 😊
Ага! 😂
