ROCK-OLA CAFE, Raleigh, North Carolina
Rock-ola Cafe at Mission Valley in Raleigh, NC was one of my favorite places to eat at growing up in North Carolina. Not that the food was all that great, but I just loved the atmosphere. To me it was the closest thing we had to a Hard Rock Cafe in the Triangle. After I moved away, I loved going back to Rock-ola with good friends when I was in town visiting. Unfortunately Rock-ola closed a few years ago. The last time I went there was in 2007, when I was in town for my high school 20th reunion. I took a camera with me and friends, Joe Harrison, Ralph Stevens and Prekash Babu.

Cary High - Thank You Lorenzo Charles for '83 NC State Dunk
มุมมอง 12K17 ปีที่แล้ว
Lorenzo Charles scored the last second winning basket for NC State in the 1983 NCAA National Championship Game when he dunked Dereck Whittenburg's missed shot. It was a favorite memory of mine growing up in Cary, North Carolina, as I'm sure it was for a lot of my classmates at West Cary Junior High in 1983. In April 2007, while producing some video clips for the Cary High Class of 1987 20-year ...
Cary's Top Gun

Joe Bobrowski pilots an airplane over Cary High School in 1987. Along for the ride are Pat Schaefer and myself. I knew there was no way my mom and dad would let me fly with a high school senior piloting the plane, so I never told them about flight until I showed them the video. I can't remember being punished for it, but I may have been. It was certainly worth it, because it was a great moment ...

Rock-Ola Cafe...The name does bring back memories. I remember going to the one where Kickback Jack's is located now, not too far from the one that was located in Raleigh.

So sad to hear the news that Lorenzo died today. He was very gracious to do this clip for our class reunion and I really enjoyed meeting him. You will be missed and always remembered.

Wow, I've never seen that angle of "the shot" before. I met Lorenzo at Jimmy V's basketball camp in 1987, he was great with the kids. Thanks!

I remember this. Some friends and I "slipped out" and went to the Brickyard to celebrate. Great memories.
