Most of the videos on this channel are short videos of adventurous outdoor activities. Some are family trips doing adventurous outdoor activities with young children such as mountaineering, backpacking, wild camping, canoeing, mountain biking, caving etc.
There are also some of my old videos from an Overland Expedition from London to Capetown, through 22 African countries in 1992/93.
I generally like a fairly tight edit and a short video that captures the overall feel of a trip. They're here for my own family to enjoy and bring back memories and also to hopefully be enjoyed by others and to inspire other families to enjoy the great Outdoors together. Presently they are all filmed on a Gopro camera.

Pembrokeshire Coast Path Trailer
For those that follow our family adventures - in the Summer of 2024 we backpacked the entire Pembrokeshire Coast Path (300Km). Over the Autumn I will be editing the film I took of our trip and hope to have a full film for you to enjoy in the Winter 24/25.

Crack in Black passage in Redhouse
มุมมอง 1.1K3 หลายเดือนก่อน
The 28th September 2024 11 cavers entered Redhouse Lane Swallet working in 4 teams. I filmed with the conservation and exploration team (Dan & Tim) who went into Crack in Black Passage. After taping around the unusual black cracked mud sediments (possibly formed by run off from a coal mine?) plus some calcite formations, we got to a rift traverse that marked the start of unexplored passage. We ...
REDHOUSE LANE SWALLET - EXPLORING VAST VIRGIN CAVE PASSAGES
มุมมอง 1.8K3 หลายเดือนก่อน
This film gives a very brief background to Redhouse Lane Swallet (in the Forest of Dean) and the entrance series, before focussing on the wonder and excitement of cave explorers finding the large passages beyond. The majority of the film was taken on the 18th August 2024 when 8 cavers assembled at 'Tiff's Treat' and headed off into the darkness beyond to see what they would find. They were the ...
REDHOUSE LANE SWALLET - CRYOGENIC CAUSEWAY - EXPLORATION OF VIRGIN CAVE PASSAGE IN FOREST OF DEAN
มุมมอง 6093 หลายเดือนก่อน
14 Sept 2024: A team of 5 cavers explore virgin cave passage in Redhouse Lane Swallet in what at the time had the working title 'South Passage'. It is now known as 'Cryogenic Causeway', named after the significant deposits of cryogenic calcite in the passage. It doesn't end up going south and in fact has several junctions heading in different directions. The team dig through one Marl run-in blo...
The UK's Best Long Roundtrip
มุมมอง 3395 หลายเดือนก่อน
This is a film featuring just some of the caving on the Long Round Trip in Slaughter Stream Cave going in the compulsory (for conservation and safety reasons) anti clockwise direction. It gives a flavour of what this route offers in around 3 minutes on what is a 5-6 hour trip for fit cavers who know the way and 7-8 hours for those competent cavers who are new to the route. The film is made up f...
HE SLAUGHTER TRAILER
มุมมอง 3696 หลายเดือนก่อน
This is the trailer to an exciting film project I'm working on at the moment that is likely to be my longest and hopefully best film to date. The final film will unfortunately not go to TH-cam for sometime as I will be 'touring' it as a fundraiser for the Gloucester Cave Rescue Group and doing a premiere to a live audience. Wish me luck...
RIVER WYE WILD CAMP
มุมมอง 1216 หลายเดือนก่อน
This was a quick (14 hours) Family Microadventure from Chepstow up the River Wye (in two Canoes and a Kayak) on the last hour of the incoming tide. we pulled up at a wild camp I know of and camped the night before getting on as the next incoming tide slowed and turned to take us back to Chepstow, 12 hours later. Just before we launched we saw a porpoise heading up river only briefly catching it...
WILD GARLIC WALK
มุมมอง 498 หลายเดือนก่อน
I shot some footage for a film I am making and needed to wear a coat for continuity. It was a really hot evening in May and I got soaked in sweat. The wild garlic was beautiful though and I thought I'd make a 60 second short to show you a special place in the Forest of Dean
DAUGLEDDAU ESTUARY & CLEDDAU DDU - AN OVERNIGHT FAMILY SEAKAYING TRIP
มุมมอง 1948 หลายเดือนก่อน
This was a 24 hour family seakayaking trip from Pembroke Dock, up the Daugleddau Estuary to a high tide wild campsite on the banks of the Cleddau Ddu. Then a return on the ebb the following morning. I'm now preferring a longer edit to allow viewers to be more immersed in the experience and the views. I enjoy watching filmed expeditions like this and hope you will too. Kayaking as a family with ...
PEMBS SEA KAYAKING - Out from Fishguard & Porthclais Harbours - world class sea kayaking in minutes
มุมมอง 1238 หลายเดือนก่อน
The April Forecast suddenly came good for a weekend and we loaded the kayaks on to the Campervan and headed to Pembrokeshire with the boys. The first day we headed East from Fishguard Harbour and were soon enjoying the stunning coastline and remote access beaches. That evening we enjoyed watching the sunset from Strumble Head. The gorse was a riot of yellow and seals bobbed in the sea with seag...
LOCH ETIVE - A family sea kayaking adventure
มุมมอง 5879 หลายเดือนก่อน
A 3 day expedition up Loch Etive in the Scottish Highlands by sea kayak at Easter time. This is the film of a family adventure with 3 teenage sons. We experienced beautifully calm conditions as well as a hailstorm and Force 4 winds. Two wild camps with cooking over open fires on the shores was a big part of the experience. A lot of preparation goes into a trip of this kind, including training t...

This was a family training trip in our seakayaks to particularly give the boys (13 & 15 yrs) some more experience in their boats as well as dealing with packing kit for an overnight camp and portaging etc. A weekend in March with wet weather on the Saturday and an improvement on the Sunday with Spring making an appearance. Hopefully we're now set for a trip to Scotland at Easter if the weather ...
FAMILY KAYAK EXPEDITION ON ULLSWATER with wild camp in February
มุมมอง 35711 หลายเดือนก่อน
Our latest form of adventurous human powered travel as a family is by kayak. Over the last year we have slowly bought bargain second hand sea kayaks on FB Marketplace and Ebay along with paddles etc. Fortunately we already own plenty of camping equipment. This was our first ever overnight kayak expedition. We ended up going to Ullswater in Cumbria as the weather for February was just right - ca...

You guys are cool. Loved the video
Very nice guys 🎉🎉🎉🎉ஆஆஆஆ
August best avoided but I guess you had no choice. Thanks for the video, I'm a cycle tourer with many months cycling in France over the past 20 years. Generally I find end May to early July to be the very best weeks regarding weather and empty campsites.
Hi, dear, I hope you are well. I saw that your TH-cam videos are very lovely and very helpful. You have enough of the videos but your video is not getting views because there is some problem with your videos. Your SEO score is very poor and you need optimization for better results. If you update the videos then the views of the video will increase. If you want you can discuss with me. Thanks
Those wet crawls near the entrance cause some anxiety; even in summer. I hope you can find another, safer entrance eg. via an old mine…
@@arthurchampion we're digging for one at the moment!
A good example of how digital cameras and LEDs have transformed making of caving videos. Now we need to know what’s down the pitch?!
We won't know what is down the pitch until sometime next year when we can get back in. Entrance series presently flooded with water. Hopefully it will be filmed
It’s rare to video taken during original UK exploration, let alone good quality video and such attractive passages. I really enjoyed it. The team did well to keep calm and avoid “exploration fever”.
Very nice a truly exciting discovery... and the video well here in the states we call this a suck in or how do you recruit people for a nasty crawl to survey on the other side lol
tout Auch sympathy for your kids.... Riding without helmet...Not the sharpest thing to do ...
There are plenty of worse lifestyle choices like not going cycling at all. Risk assessed and they are involved in that process as well. Cycling with helmets in 40 degrees not always the best choice. If you watch video there are plenty of times when helmets are worn, especially if on a road with traffic. Plenty of debate to be had on this one and many people with views for and against.
What an awesome family adventure 👍
Many thanks for taking the trouble to film this and share it. I hung up my caving boots over 30 years ago and at that time the only cave in the area worth mentioning was Otter Hole. I can't believe that such an amazing discovery didn't merit a few minutes on prime time news. Who would have thought that a dig would pay off so well? You have to wonder just how much else is out there waiting to be discovered.
Fantastic. Well done!
What a great documentary of this epic find. All the years of digging, mapping, supposing and hoping paid off! Well done to all involved!!! 🥳
Looking forward to it...
What an absolutely superb discovery, a wonderful reward for persistent digging, and a remarkable video of the actual original exploration. Congratulations to all involved!
Astonishing find !
Just watched this beautiful film. Very inspiring! Hoping to do the same with our family, but not sure we are as brave as you guys..well done!!
Wow! Well done!!!
Hello, your audio is sterio and all the sound comes out on the left , btw !

Where did you park and how did you get back to your car? Was yours a hire and get collected deal?
@@4ndrewthe we parked at corpach and I then hitched back but there is a bus you can get to fort William and then the train to corpach
@adventuretraveller007 thank you very much. Very useful information.
Hi, really enjoyed your trip! We are currently undertaking the same route on a tandem, we would really appreciate the details of the bus journey to Santander, where did you take the bus from? Any advice would be greatly appreciated 😊
@@pipando we got the bus from Irun and it goes directly.. even though they take bikes the drivers don't like to! You have to take it apart and box it. Book it on their website
@@adventuretraveller007thank you for the guidance.
What a fabulous trip to take with a family , is there some where I can find your route plan ?
Amazing and very beautiful.
Great video, loved that you included your Boys in the decision process.
What can I say .. Well done lady's . I'd have given up at that first portage
Awesome! Bravo to the gang!
Reminds me of cycling with my parents in France in the late 70s, including the revolts and crashes. As kids all me and my brother wanted was a canp site with a swimming pool...nothing changes😂😂 Wonderful film and great memories.
Absolutely fantastic a family doing that epic trip well done to you all and especially the young lad who crashed and soldiered on 😊
Brilliant👌👏👏👋❤️ I'll follow your journey👋
I only just found your channel. Brilliant short video. I'm pretty new to making videos but I'm learning by watching others😁 I'll catch on more of yours soon👋
What a fantastic adventure, well done all of you. Loch Etive is a magical place. I was up there exactly a month after you, although I only spent one night out by the loch. It was pre-midge season too so made it all the more pleasant. I’m guessing you took off from Kelly’s Pier? Well done on dealing with the choppy conditions on one of the days. A bad day on the loch is still better than a good day in the office.. 😉👍
Loving the journey.. why didn’t you sing along to Tom 😃
@@juliawood245 apparently he's now 83 and still good! A friend went to see him
My hubby just finishing the Velodysee, so it’s been nice to see the places he’s been travelling through. Can you tell me, is it easy to find the Alsa bus stop in Irún and do you have any idea if there is an Alsa office there to buy a bike box? Any advice gratefully accepted as he arrives on Wed to get the bus to Santander and we are struggling to find any information on the Alsa Office ? Thank you!
From memory it's easy enough to find bus station. Finding a bike box could be harder. We had to make them from cardboard from supermarkets etc. They can be grumpy about bikes even when you have booked them
That's an impressive family
Super effort and very inspiring!!!!

@@adventuretraveller007How did you get the footage from the various devices to your external hard drive while travelling? Did you take a laptop and power cable with you?
@@edwardcullen3251I just kept my data on the micro SD cards in the camera and then uploaded it on to pc when I got home
@@adventuretraveller007That means you barely filmed much. Maybe only a few hours of footage. Crazy. I would have filmed at least 40 hours of footage.
Hello?
What a fantastic film to watch! Well done to you all for completing such a character building experience, especially for your children and unforgettable family time together! 😊
Glad you enjoyed it!
What cameras did you use to film with?
GoPro 9
@@adventuretraveller007 There are clearly many different cameras you used. Which are the others? Thanks.. Also how did you transfer files whle on the go? You would need a laptop with chargning cable + External hard drive surely?
Ah yes, also had a mini2pro drone. All editing done later on PC.

The video needs to be MUCH longer, but awesome you guys did this. Also it would have been great if you had shown and detailed all the gear you all took, how much each item cost you and from where you bought it, total cost of the travel with a breakdown. Also the miles displayed under the days is very confusing. Sometimes it says miles to xyz, othertimes just miles. No idea if it is total miles travelled that day or what. You should have done a much better job with that and included more info. Should have been something like this: Day 1 Miles completed at end of day: Miles remaining to next destination: Miles exepcted to comeplete:
Ha ha you are so courageous taking the whole family..My wife and I cycled from Brussels to saint Malo last July, and at times it was very stressful for the same reasons , for example in Saint Malo all the campings were full so we cycled out in the country and wild camped near a chateau, the owners came out and invited us in and gave us breakfast in the morning..😅
A great achievement for you all! Well done!! You did well with the weather mostly by the looks of it. Great video, thanks for posting.
Great video but helmets are much better protecting heads than panniers!
You all did a phenomenal job. Your video was also beautiful and enjoyable thank you for sharing!!! Loved it!!! Congratulations!!!😍😍😍😍
Have you seen the full feature film?
Awesome place for paddling on calm water . Nice video . Did you find out what the torpedo looking thing was ? maybe an old sea mine from ww2 ?
That was a great video . I feel exactly the same way you do about private property and kayak camping . here in australia they stole it all from the aboriginals and then have the hide to say get of my land lol . but yeah its all those dickheads who dont take their rubbish with them that are the main problem . yeah leave no trace minimal impact camping it the way to go . they will never know you were there . happy yakking !
Another great family adventure!
