@@kyleb7974 Yeah so much for that in Season 6... Where they literally let it get in the way of the kids. Daniel cant stop glazing Mr. Miyagi especially and allows it to affect his choosing when it comes to the students of the Sekai Tekai. Its one thing to admire someone but am sure Mr. Miyagi himself would have found it annoying. He even says the same thing we do not teach these students to be aggressive to Johnny when Daniel himself said lets let these students use what they learned from both of us here in Season 4. All of that gone down the drain and back to my style is better in Season 6. Sometimes I think the writers are just getting these 2 to start fighting without proper reasoning and creating unnecessary conflicts. For instance the whole MIT drama between Dimitri and Eli was dumb. Feels more like the writers are forcing them a reason to fight when they were already friends and accepting each other. And noone actually bringing Tory back or trying to console her after she leaves the dojo feels unrealistic. Everyone just moves on being like ok Hawk will take Tory's place. Like dude her mom just fucking died. Go console her be supportive and help her get through it. Maybe setup a practise dummy where she can vent out her anger or setup a different day for a redo with Sam rather than just tell her she cant continue to fight. Right? I mean there are more realistic ways to help someone who is trying to cope with a loss.

@@kyleb7974 These 2 should be completely trusting each other by now. They have been through 5 whole seasons but the writers want them to keep fighting against each other for some reason. Its honestly quite dumb and they really dulled Season 6. Didnt feel nearly as well written as Season 5.

@@jeremydcruz1757 They don’t let it get in the way of the kids though. They said they wanted to make sure the kids grow their own root. Daniel tries to stop Johnny and Chozen fighting in episode one because he says they have to focus on the kids instead of fighting. When Johnny splits with Daniel, he says he’ll make sure it doesn’t get in the way of the kids training, something he didn’t do in S4. In terms of teaching they even acknowledge why Daniel does that. Daniel is off balance from the chest which shattered his entire reality, basically making him double down on everything he knew. That’s why Daniel rebrands Miyagi Do in episode 1 to be more “badass” with the Eagle on it. He still lets the kids fight how they want. When Johnny says to Daniel that his daughter and Tory are becoming pussies. Daniel tells him to work “his magic.” This all changes when they cheat thing off balanced him. We see with Amanda when he’s pissed at Johnny’s “old Mumbo jumbo” in his lessons, and Amanda responds “Isn’t that what we were supposed to do?” Because Daniel before the chest was more lenient. And we see why, because he even says “This is not what Miyagi would’ve wanted” obviously an effect of the chest. Daniel is coming to face with his final arc. Becoming his own Sensei without the need to try and be Miyagi 2.0. Season 5 didn’t deal with that. MIT: I’d argue it’s worse to do nothing with a coming of age movie with the literal Binary Bros nerds. Them being friends doesn’t mean they don’t fight. Since when do friends never fight. Their situation is something that happens in real life. Demetri is really attached to Eli and he isn’t ready for such a big thing as him being split off from his friend for the first time. For Eli another real story for him. Friends drift apart because of different paths and interests, Eli was worried. Also Demetri has always been a set in my ways, and Eli is inherently a character who’s willing to change his life on the whim (He got a Mohawk after all). I feel where they’re going with it is the two are finally able to come to terms with the two splitting, taking two different paths in life and only being the Binary Bros in spirit because the two will be long distance. Demetri absolutely needs the character development for that, that’s why he felt betrayed. For Tory. She left before they can do anything, she said she was done. We know she was ghosting Robby earlier in the episode. If she heard her mother died she 100% ghosted Robby and the others. I’d say no for completely trusting each other. The only reason to two got along was because of a common enemy. Season 4 was not enough for a reconciliation. The convo was “I won’t get in your way you won’t get in my way. But both of us shouldn’t get in the way of the kids.” The two no longer are at a rivalry over high school disputes or egos like S4. They aren’t even at a rivalry, Johnny is just straight up done talking to Daniel after the Sekai tournament is finished. To quote Zabka it’s because of the roots of where these characters came from. I feel they have ways to loosen up this. Johnny was conforming to some Miyagi Do this season and if he makes peace with say Kreese the guy directly responsible for his root. And Daniel when he comes to accept Miyagi wasn’t perfect.

They gave Daniel so much growth here, and ruined it all in s6, and same with Johnny who now suddenly is obsessed with Devon and his old Cobra Kai ways are back
