How does Bittensor ensure that a successful subnet owner remains incentivized to stay within the ecosystem rather than leaving with their project once it gains traction? Have there been any instances of this happening in the network?
Very good question, not sure i'll have time to do a vid on this. But short answer: Bittensor is permissionless and open source, the subnet's code is public. So if a subnet owner leaves, anyone can pickup where they left off. You can't actually compete with bittensor outside of the network very well, subnet owners lose access to world class miners if they go out on their own and become permissioned or closed source.

All sounds great. Bitcoin has had 14 years to prove its authenticity credentials and imo the jury is still out on a few unanswered questions but it does have 14 years under its belt. Given the founders connection to DARPA and other corporate entities where does your faith in it and its integrity come from? Seems a bit early to suggest its on the same par as bitcoin for integrity, so I welcome more evidence of your steadfast believe in it and why. Has there not be speculation of the initial allocation of tokens and seed money that need answered as well as other questions? A bit of objectivity would be great to see. I like probably most hope very much you are correct, but would very much like to see more evidence of credibility and integrity please if you have it?
Did satoshi need integrity? No, because the open source code spoke for itself. The Bittensor codebase is completely open source. I am deep in tao, AI is requires huge amounts of computation power. my only question is how does tao scale while running so much AI on chain when blockchains are inherently slow.
Models are not stored on chain. They are mostly open source so they are often stored on hugging face with copies on miners and validators.
@TAOTemplar is this something something good. Wouldn't the ICP crew be able to take shots at us for this?
@Solomon_Bachelor They do take shots all the time. I wish them luck with their project though. There's no need to store the "AI" on-chain for bittensor to work. If you're coming at it thinking that bittensor is an ICP clone, then you'll think it's required, but it's not, bittensor isn't ICP.
@TAOTemplar I'm into tao due to the incentives. It's incentive structure is amazing much better than what corporations have to offer. I was just concerned about scalability.

Very good question. I certainly didn't talk about "why" in this video, only "how". It's a little hard to explain in a youtube comment, so I'll likely make a video eventually. You cannot setup mining competitions in other cryptos. With bittensor, over time, you end up with commodities that are inevitably the best in the world thanks to the competition between miners and since it's permissionless, that competition is essentially between anyone in the world. For instance subnet 51 is serving extremely cheap decentralized compute (one of the cheapest in the world). Bittensor allows anything to be commoditized, and then produces that commodity better than any single centralized source. Essentially an upgrade to capitalism 2.0

How many Subnets have we at the moment and what has the growth of Subnets growth over the start?

Thank you mate, can you recommend a wallet? I read the docs and it suggested chrome ext(Brave) for me. But when I look on the 64 reviews it was not liked by the users. Issues with locking the wallet and staking/unstaking they were unsure off. Thoughts please?
@@macmac7384 I have plans for making a video on wallets in the future... but it takes me a while to make the vids. The browser wallet extension is probably fine for now (I keep some of my TAO in it as a hot-wallet). Expect a video on it in the coming months.
