This footage was captured on my first video camera, an RCA camera that connected to 1/2 of my VHS VCR, which I carried on my back in a backpack along with the 2 lb battery, which lasted about 15-20 minutes. The invention of the GoPro camera were still 15 years away. Yet this footage was a revolutionary jump from 8-mm movie cameras.

Captain Jack Gladden guides the motor yacht Cavalier from Longbush, NY past New York City and the Statue of Liberty down to Portsmouth, VA. Ports of call, as filmed and narrated by 1st mate Robert Clark, include Manasquan, NJ, Ocean City, MD and Wachapreague, VA before arriving in what was to be her home port for over 20 years, Tidewater Yacht Marina in Portsmouth, VA.
