AIDET is an acronym for a framework that is used by healthcare workers to communicate with patients
AIDET is an acronym for a framework that is used by healthcare workers to communicate with patients, their families and each other. It is a powerful way to communicate with people who are often vulnerable and anxious and provides healthcare workers with a consistent way of communicating.
This video shows a nurse in an acute ward communicating with her patient regarding a procedure. Watch as the language changes in the second scenario as the AIDET framework is applied.

When a iv stays is it right or wrong when practicing nurseing
These people are ridiculous. If you're sick then you need to take sick time off. We need extra 30 day off for mental health
Maybe just maybe they're actually sick!🤦♀️
How about employees that are supposed to work in the office two days a week but when she comes takes long lunches and work less than 8 hours but write 8 hours on the time sheet, why employers allow that?
That was really helpful. Thanks
How to micromanage poorly.
They get mad at you for being sick
It honestly shouldn’t be something that you’re worried about. Taking a few sick days off is no big deal. Some times things come up, some days you feel like trash.
take as many sick days as youre allowed to take and dont feel guilty. there are gonna be days when youre just burnt out and thats fine to take a day or 2 a month but try to time your sick leave so it wont look too often
My coworker will go on vacation and then miss days again and I just know his pto is gone by now . What’s worse it’s only two people in my job that’s full time so I have been getting hounded to come in on my day off almost weekly.
That's the jobs fault not your coworker
As good as this video is, I'm getting this weird good guy vs bad guy vibe. Sometimes this isn't the case. Do we consider reoccuring health issues? In scenario 1, the boss was out of line. In scenario 2, the employee was out of line. The real world isn't like this.
This is genuine garbage, this would never ever happen in a professional capacity.
My situation is hard I have a good worker but in the space of 3 months he's gone home 2 hours early for feeling rough(always at the weekend shifts) on 3 occasions and 2 full sick days straight after a holiday When I sit down and speak to him he says it's not his fault he's sick UK
the writing is annoying, how about talk so we don't have to read the screen the entire time.
My supervisor constantly calls in sick literally every week I understand wanting to have time to rest and relax but who gets sick every week
Yep feel the frustration I have 1 new worker age 27 and all he has to do is car park duties 7-3 5 shifts a week. 3 months in he text me on 3 occasions to go home 2 hours early because feeling unwell On 2 separate week holidays he's been sick for 1 day straight after he comes back
whack it
Give your employees 10 to 12 "PAID" sick days per year, whether they use it or not, so that at the end of the year, they'll get paid for every sick day they did not use, this is an incentive, like a bonus ! Or, how about a 4 day work week, hmm ? th-cam.com/video/KYF9oW-tyLU/w-d-xo.html
The first lady was so rude! Hope she loses her job
This type of tactic is trying to force your authority (power) over your employees. And then she threatened him with further disciplinary actions should it continue. Yeah, great tactic. Good if the employee is shit, but crap if the employee is good.
I have worker who is good but he's young and sometimes especially at weekends he sometimes texts to say "sorry mate not feeling well can I go home early" on 3 occasions in 3 months
Nope. It’s a trap. They get dirt on you and then use it against you. Well, that’s been my experience. Just shitty managers.
Usually HR position is the most useless thing company ever created !! This crap usually run women who got there make till fake it attitude!
I work with a guy who misses 30 days per year and the place still won't fire his ass
He may very well be that sick 😫 🤦♀️ a little birdie told mea manager in my area had to miss at least a month because they had a major invasive surgery.... you'd have them working when they should 💯 be healing up 🤦♀️ plus if someone is truly sick I 💯 don't want their germs and their cooties! If you are sick stay home! Far away from me! I might have to pick up the slack, but I'd rather do that then get sick!
you work in the video game industry don't you? i wish we had a truancy dpt.
💖🧡😆💘❤
@2:00 if that employee is "near his limit" then holy sh*t he's fine. As long as he didn't take more than 10 days every employee is entitled to those days. You want reliable employees then let them take certain days off until they reach their limit. If they use all their days then that's on THEM. Stop working people until they drop dead, that's unfair and that's why everything should be reevaluated
What does one do about an employer who consistently denies annual leave?
Incredible, i cant even remember the last time i called in sick. Its been well over 10 years, actually and honestly its been that long that i cant even give an answer.
If you don't want employees to have time off just say that. If sick days are given they can and should be used. It's not the employees fault there isn't proper coverage in their absence
I’m half way through this video and this guy starts deflecting right out of the gate. Like a child not owning his actions instead pointing to “ Natasha’s” maybe you both should kick rocks. Thanks For pointing out someone that is worse than you are
You can help if your fuxking off and then you genuinely are sick your out of sick days. You are showing you have no character and no regard for anyone other that yourself because others are being forced to pick up your slack causing a snow ball effect!
Why is this woman in a position like this
Employers treat you like cattle
:/
This video actually helped me . I was legitimately sick bc of root canals I needed 2 only took 3 days of my sick time … total I’ve taken 5 days with 90 days . That’s not a lot plus I have sick leave of like 60 hrs .. there are co workers that slack off and I get written up!! Oh yeah and I’m disputing this write up with HR and Cc her Boss!! 👌
wel then piss off m'am
m'am, good that we are talking about pay, when will you pay overtime?
lol UK and the US are different in many ways
This is 👍great

Basically what corporate is saying.... you have 10 available sick days, but you arent really supposed to use them because it will look really bad on your future with the company.
Sooo.. what be a robot and not get sick!🤦♀️ yeah come in throwing up cmon employeers this is common sense 101!🤦♀️🤦♀️🤦♀️💯😫🤢🤮
Kerry is a shit employee
I think this approach is bad. If you asked if there is anything that I want to "tell you". My response is not, "there is not anything I would want to tell you". It is, "if I have not exhausted my sick leave why am I here". If I was that employee I would go see a lawyer when she starts suggesting my sick leave isn't legitmate.
I know it’s a yr later but ur last sentence just help me add more details in my complaint letter to HR. My boss wrote me up for using my sick leave.., when I was actually sick … so is saying my sick leave isn’t legitimate which is false bc those are my benefits!!
Australian workers are full of soft s***
Ahhh surprise surprise... Australian...
Imagine doing that in a restaurant industry especially in the kitchen. Absolute madness
My coworkers do this shit all the time and my boss lets them get away with it no matter how many times they do it. They show up late every day too! Nobody gets sick that often unless it involves some kind of disease that's heavily treated with medicine. But too many people do that shit for it to be realistic.
I think the approach is wrong and could result in legal action. The simple action to resolve it, is to require a doctor's note.
@@WhyDoThat yup problem solved
you the type to tell on people for longer breaks...lol
Have clear policies. Example: you must produce a doctor’s note after a certain number of days.
Or employers should at least pay some kind of bonus to those who do bother to show up and have to constantly carry the load for those throwing too many sickies. It's not fair on those who have to work doubly hard for nothing but stress and exhaustion in return.
Podría traducir al español, gracias
The entire idea of limited sick days is stupid as hell. Life happens and it doesn't recognize arbitrary limits like that. If you're ill, you're ill - the end. Monitor me all you want, but sod your limits.
The way her voice gets high pitched at the end of her sentences 😭😭 is driving me nuts
Well done! Funny and educational.
Can you put the pump on hold for a set amount of time?
A guy I work with calls out sick every Monday (almost) and this gets very frustrating (I end up dealing with his work) & then he is off every Friday yet too. It is bullcrap.
I understand but this isn't that. Someone hasn't exhausted there sick day and there is a threat if they take more there will be "a more serious talk". A better resolution is to require a doctor's note once it starts getting excessive.
@@WhyDoThat I don’t know of a single doctor who is going to give an adult a fucking note..
