Basically no as they need to be mapped out anyway, so at the same time just do a stage 1 mapp to so no loss of power, infact a gain also better fuel consumption by 15% imo
@@malcboyd1064 Hi. Nice video. I'll do the same on my 2006 Q7. I read elsewhere that you need tuning software to map out flaps. VCDS will do as well ? 100% sure ?
Great video . I’m looking at doing this to my A4 3.0 TDI ,, Do you need to leave anything in the holes to blank them off when you put it back together ?
What was the reason for removal mate
Hi mate, there renowned for clogging up and breaking, plus I kept getting bank 1 error
That's the issue I have mate
Great vid mate
Thanks 👍
@@malcboyd1064 my passenger side rod and plug has come out of bank 2 guessing that’s what’s causing bad mpg my flap is stuck shut I think 😂
Have you deleted now then?
@@malcboyd1064 not yet I need to fix the inlet flap rod so I can get them open again then I can delete via a map?
You still need to take the flaps out mate, then map them out
Hey up matey wen you clears the swirls flap faults did they stay off you finished
Yes mate
Yup cracking video pal
Very very helpful video. At I right in saying if you’ve the motors mapped out you can just leave them off and not reconnect them? Thanks
Yes that's correct buddy!
@@malcboyd1064 Any torque settings for all the bolts or just good and tight haha?
As far as I'm aware just tighten buddy, that's all I did
Brilliant, funny video. You not only helped me with the same problem, but you made me laugh. Excellent do some more😆
Can you drive the car afterwards to bring it to be mapped. Will it run ok
Yes mate it will run fine as that's what I did 👍
Hi buddy, great video. What happen if I remove flaps and choose not to remap the car?
Your EML will stay on @@MrKherryk
NICE You have a AUDI Q7 very expensive car. If have a problems of parts all delete. This is a fixable problem. Not an expensive cost!
Did you cut the flaps apart to re use the “ luggy” parts ?
Didn't need to cut then as they simply just sit in the luggy bits if that makes sense
any side effects after remove ? like higher fuel consumption or less torque in low end area?
Basically no as they need to be mapped out anyway, so at the same time just do a stage 1 mapp to so no loss of power, infact a gain also better fuel consumption by 15% imo
@@malcboyd1064 yea sure i will map them out with a stage1 egr and dpf off but i was curious only about flaps effect
Why did you do this? What is the benefit?
What diagnostic use to delete flaps
Hi I have a friend with vcds but I'm sure there's others out there

@@loubakker5000 yes vcds will do this
@@malcboyd1064 Do you know if it's coding that has to be changed or something else?
@@malcboyd1064 Tks !
Great video, i was scared to do it but thank you mate you helped me alot. Now i am confident enough to do it. Thumbs up 👍👍👍
Any success?
do you need to recode the engine for this?
Yes the flap motors do need to be mapped out still
@@malcboyd1064 With VCDS ?

Hi nope holes stay open, just put the little plastic bits back in you will see what I mean it's in the video 👌
