    Thailand has had "issues" since 1973 that I know of. Still a great place to visit. Just like the cities in Europe. You have to keep your wits about you or you will be scammed, pickpocketed or something else. Enjoy but remember to watch out for YOURSELF.

    I lived in Thailand for years and the main people who will shake you down is the police, they must be the most corrupt on the planet, I can understand it as they are very poorly paid, they even have to pay for their own ammunition if they have a gun, at the end of every month they have a share out of all the illegal fines, etc with the "Big Boss" getting the main share and the BIB at the end of the scale getting very little, even the police in Pattaya are in on the jet ski scams also beware coming through "Swampy" Bangkok airport as often things can be planted in your bag by security and later pulled after you have left the airport. The list goes on.
