Officially this would be yellow card for ‘unsporting behavior’. Since I know Liam, I pulled him aside when ball was not in play near him and asked him to ‘chill out’ as this is just a scrimmage. No yellow card given. 46:51 18th challenge: In motion of play Hunters(BSG) foot gets stepped on by Danilo(IB). Play is stopped. No offense took place so play recontinues from ‘dead ball’ once Hunter was ok to resume. 51:44 19th challenge: Benji(BSG) falls to ground on own. No other teammate or opposing players nearby. I check in on him and he is okay. Play is not stopped. No call required. 54:29 20th challenge: Christopher(BSG) grabs and pulls on Danilo’s(IB) jersey. Advantage plays to IB so only verbal warning given. 55:30 21st challenge: BSG player #70 charges Marco(IB) from behind. Marco steps across to play ball, contact made by both player and charging player falls. Contact from both players is clean. No foul. 55:33 22nd challenge: BSG player #70 pulls back of Danilos(IB) jersey and executes a ‘scissor tackle’ from behind. Dangerous play (officially would be yellow). 1st foul of the match is given. Free kick. No card issued to player. 55:55 - 56:10 23rd challenge: Liam(BSG) does not want to move back 10 yards and blocks IB kicker (officially would be yellow card and his 2nd of the match which would’ve resulted in a red card). Liam is told to move back 10 yards. He replies “I don't know where 10 yards back is” he is told to take 10 step. then @ 56:12 he starts to move back but then says to “ ‘f’ off”. 3rd offense for ‘unsporting behavior’. However, due to the direct foul language to a match official it would be an automatic red regardless of if 1st offenses occurred or not. Since this was a ‘friendly’ scrimmage a Red Card is not issued. He is given a break for misconduct and unsporting behavior and benched to calm down and will be allowed to return to play when both coaches and ref feel it is appropriate. Laim(BSG) was allowed to return to play after a 10 minute ‘timeout’ 57:02 24th -25th challenge: On refs’ way to address parent sideline to explain reason for player removal as a ref courtesy, a parent from BSG decides to argue with ref over not taking game seriously and being unfair. Officially, coach from arguing parent team(BSG) would be issued yellow for parent misconduct OR in extreme cases the child of parent can be issued a red card and both player & parent must vacate. @ 57:04 ref address both teams parent sideline of offense and reason for player removal. 57:27 parent continues to argue with ref. Ref briefly comments and moves on. Note: Arguing parent was not the offending player’s parent. 58:02 26th challenge: Giancarlo(IB) scores but is offside. The goal is called off and goal kick is awarded. 59:29 27th challenge: BSG player #12 pulls on Mathias’(IB)jersey from behind. Advantage plays out to IB no foul is necessary. 1:01:06 28th challenge: Liam(BSG) charges Kevin(IB) from behind. Kevin makes clean backward pass Liam trips over Kevin's passing foot. Clean play. I initially saw handball from my angle but no player from either team reacted, so no call was made. 1:12:24 34th challenge: 2nd foul called in match. Liam(BSG), Benji(BSG), & Eyoab(IB) challenge for ball. Liam is knocked over by Eyoab. Clean foul. Free kick awarded. 1:14:00: - 2 minute warning issued. 1:14:45: - goal sored by IB. 1:15:07: Originally match was scheduled to be two 35 minutes halves. Since u14 NAL & MLSNext (white team) play is 40 minutes it changed to 40 at game start. At half time I was asked by incoming team if we can knock it back to 35 so they can start their game on time. However, since opposing incoming team was still not present after I announced 2 minute warming I opted to continue on to 40 minutes. 1:17:53 35th challenge: Ball is put out of play but advantage plays out for BSG no call made. 1:18:06 36th challenge: Benji(BSG) grabs James(IB) jersey from behind and pulls him down inside own offensive zone.
