How to SAFELY Double Process Color on MULTI-TEXTURED Hair (With Haircut)
มุมมอง 8272 หลายเดือนก่อน
Double process coloring is a two-step hair coloring technique often used for dramatic color changes, such as going from dark to very light shades (e.g., blonde or pastels). The first step involves lightening the hair by bleaching or using a high-lift color, and the second step deposits the desired color on the pre-lightened hair. It can be a challenging process for textured hair, which tends to...

    Just a warning- Type 3 and Type 4 curls that need more hydration need a deep conditioner with a plastic cap and a hot towel for 20 minutes weekly and a leave-in conditioner daily or every other day. Innersense gels alone do not provide enough hydration or moisturisation for dry type 3 or type 4 hair especially if someone lives in a dry environment from the sun, heating, air conditioning, wind, etc. Also the gels are not heat protection from the dryer.

    This is what I did before I started brush styling, but I find the brush styling does a better job of distributing curls evenly, and it could have been done in the same time it took to finger curl her bangs. Also a HUGE amount of product was used here compared to what I use in my 3A

    • @CurlCraftStudio
      @CurlCraftStudio 13 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Here’s a polished response you can use: Thank you for sharing your thoughts! I definitely appreciate the benefits of brush styling for even curl distribution-it’s a fantastic technique. However, I like to give my clients options for days when they don’t have the time for more involved styling routines. That’s why I used finger coiling here, focusing on simplicity and personalized care. Also, I only used a quarter-sized amount of each product. One of the things I love about Monat is that its molecular structure is small enough for the hair to absorb, making it super lightweight and airy, so a little goes a long way-no need to use tons of product! At the end of the day, it’s all about finding what works best for each individual. Every method has its place, and I enjoy taking my time to customize the experience for each client’s unique needs.

A lot of brands or stylists/influencers whatevs are selling more volume and more definition. Wet styling is okay but sucks in winter. In winter, I do curl cream, followed by some kind of serum and diffuse.

I think it’s because, for so long, Afro-Latinas and women with textured hair have been told that big, bold hair wasn’t “professional” or “elegant” enough. @CurlCraftStudio 16 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @ Both MONAT Curl Defining Gelée and Innersense I Create Hold Gel are fantastic products, but they serve different purposes depending on your curl needs. • MONAT Curl Gelée provides lightweight hold with hydration, enhancing curl definition while keeping hair soft and touchable. It’s perfect for curls that need moisture and flexibility without stiffness or crunch, making it great for most curl types. • Innersense I Create Hold Gel offers a stronger, more structured hold, ideal for tighter curl patterns or styles needing long-lasting definition. However, for 2C to 3A curl types, I believe this gel might be too heavy, potentially weighing down the curls instead of allowing for natural movement and bounce. Both are excellent options depending on the look and hold you prefer!

      @@Angie-jp2cv With the right routine, you can expect this method to give you about 3-4 days of longevity before needing a refresh or wash. It really starts with priming your hair using the right shampoo and conditioner to build a solid foundation. Since you’re already seeing improvements with K18 and layering products, that’s a great start! Consistency with moisturizing products and styling on wet hair will continue to enhance definition. Over time, as your hair gets healthier and more hydrated, you’ll likely notice better curl clumping and longer-lasting results. Keep up the routine - you’re on the right track!

    Would you suggest the same sparse application of product for thick, coarse hair (2A-2C)? If I don't brush in a lot of product, the waves/curls that didn't get enough turn into puffy frizz. On the other hand, I can see that a lot of product weights down my curls into looser waves...

    • @CurlCraftStudio
      @CurlCraftStudio 19 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@Nubesyxochis For thick, coarse hair (2A-2C), it’s all about finding balance between even distribution and avoiding product overload. Instead of applying a lot at once, I’d recommend using a layering technique with a more controlled, targeted approach: 1️⃣ Start with priming in the shower - a lightweight leave-in conditioner or curl primer on soaking wet hair to boost hydration. 2️⃣ Apply your styling product (gel, mousse, or cream) in sections, raking or glazing it through while focusing on even coverage. For better definition, use your fingers or a wide-tooth comb to ensure every wave gets some product. 3️⃣ If you find heavier products are weighing down your curls, opt for light to medium-hold formulas and build up slowly instead of applying too much at once. By layering with this method, you’ll get the coverage you need without sacrificing bounce and definition. Keep experimenting until you find the right balance that keeps frizz away while letting your waves thrive!
