Hello. I'm currently playing it on hard difficulty with only one character (barbarian), but as I'm busy these days I haven't played much (I have the first 5 hours of the game recorded in video, (more or less up to the end of the catacombs), when I have the whole game I'll upload it to youtube gradually. There are difficulties in the bosses with only one character, but not in the normal fights of the levels, but I think that as soon as I get to Malan Tael, buy magic bags (luggage loading is another problem) and lower the cooldown with items and the skill “apprentice toorum” and and I bought herbs and left over to make speed, healing and energy potions.the bosses will stop being difficult too :D And yes, completing hardabar 100% with all the secrets and treasures is really hard work the first time.

@DonEmilioSpain Lol, one character. Good luck. After multiple playthroughs I just found a way to manage my inventory just barely with four characters. I will watch it. Already found two Epic items I was missing watching your videos, so thanks for that.

@@Josje1978 Finding all the epic items is difficult because some epic items are obtained by upgrading items in forges and you don't know it. There is an epic item that you get by selling the red sword that you get in the quantum reactor (to get an automaton tool box), as it is a good weapon there are many chances of not selling it in “Pirate Bastion”, that in my opinion should be fixed xD Regarding playing with only one character: it is not as difficult as it seems, when you play with four characters the damage in a corner is received by two characters, here it is received by only one character instead of two, but that character has the best armor, the maximum vitality he can have (because of the health books and vitality potions), the maximum resistance to elements, apart from all the potions that instead of being used in four characters are used in only one character. The main problem is the cooldown, and you have to focus on lowering it (if possible) and use weapons that have low cooldown (double light weapons, combined with good critical and backstabs). Inventory management will be carried out by filling the inventory with magic bags (at least 8 xD). The lower armor pieces will be left in some teleporter, the heavy weapons also because they will not be used, from firearms I will only use dragon riffle and automaton gun, cannons, cannon ammo, machine gun ammo and machine guns I will not use or carry them. Magical items: I will use the bow of the elements, the arckanos staff and a couple of battle mage weapons with their ammo. The modern weapons found in THE ARC will be used exclusively against the lich king and maybe the ion cannon will be used in some difficult combat as well. Speed potions are going to play a fundamental role and I will buy a brutal amount of herbs to make these potions. Absolutely everything that is left over and can be sold in Malan Tael will be sold.

It was a mistake to invest points in armor rather than concentration, I spent the whole game without being able to launch the force field (which in this mod is changed to level 3) xD I should have used the same character I used in the original grimrock 2 “solo”: Barbarian, light weapons, alchemy, concentration and critical or athletics (in that order). Not being able to use two light weapons at the same time (two hits) is very noticeable in a solo. Two light weapons are good for enemies with little armor, a single light weapon is good for enemies with more armor. Actually, I think the “armor” skill is almost useless. Choosing a battle mage I think was also a mistake, I suffered a lot at the beginning xD

Having 105 protection and proficiency in heavy armor I can't place against a “Shrakk Torr” 1 vs 1 head on, he can kill me with only 3 blows, I have to place myself in a level change or a door that opens and closes, run away, rest and come back, or use a freeze bomb. It's as if the “Shrakk Torr” doesn't care about the armor that the character has, I have tried using the +25 protection magic shield. (130 armor in total) and it's useless. The same thing happens with mosquitoes but to a lesser extent, they are always dangerous, even if you have a lot of armor (all this in HARD difficulty). That's why I miss the alchemy to be able to make freeze bombs (to easily kill “Shrakk Torrs”). In this mod there are almost no bombs, potions, or herbs, but if there are enough black moss, I would have benefited here the level 5 alchemy (3 bombs for 1 black moss). In short, the biggest rival in this mod playing with a single character are the Shrakk Torr and mosquitoes.

Yes, "Shrine of Dreams Gone By", is the easier mod that i played: www.nexusmods.com/grimrock/mods/429 Short and easy, but good, discovering its secrets is interesting. Then I would recommend "Princes of pale moon" and then "The Legend of the Lost Dwarf Kingdom of Kahrak'arul", in that order. When you have passed those 3 I can recommend you more.

@DonEmilioSpain What are your favorite mods? I've played Lost City, The Guardians and Final Adventure + Eye of Atlantis + Chaos Isle. I didn't finish The Legend of PAT because it had a bit too many technical issues.

At the moment I recommend you these 3: “Call of House Hardabar”, “A Test of True Heroism Lost Lands of Lemuria” and “Crack of Doom". HARDABAR: The longest mod I've ever known, with the best story and some really difficult boss fights. It starts a bit linear, it becomes very open later (very well done this). The bad thing is that it takes a long time to load the game, between 40 and 90 seconds, depending on how advanced you are in the game, if you accept that I strongly recommend it. I also recommend you to always have the game saved in two different games in which there is not much time difference (for example 15 minutes), “rarely” some absurd bug may occur that takes you out of the game. It is the first time I try this, I do not know if it will be possible to pass it, at first I had difficulties in the caves “Twigroot Tunnels”, once past that part and having level 5 light weapons, the bone blade and an acceptable armor seems that the thing becomes much easier, however there are parts that I still do not imagine how I will pass, as the fight with the Wormbound brothers or a hole full of zombies in a crypt, time will tell .... Knowing what I know now I think the best option to play alone is an alchemist as a mage or a battle mage (concentration, fire magic and air magic), taking into account that the food is practically unlimited for a single character, you can run away, sleep, come back, attack with magic and repeat the process :D

Hi. I'm not pressing anything with the mouse, I'm simply going back as far as I can, press the forward arrow without releasing it and you can climb the ladder, don't release the forward arrow until you have climbed the ladder completely, there are a few more holes in this mod that can be bypassed like this. There seems to be a bit of "controversy" on this issue in this mod, there is at least one other ladder in the game where you have to click on it with the mouse in its center "in the air", so don't discard that issue either.

This has happened to me several times with snakes in different gameplays, it has not been isolated, it can be considered as an additional clue.

It's a good choice, this mod is really fun, but don't go down that big hole, it was my mistake thinking it would go somewhere else, you can still reach that area later.

@@bellduke6417 secret button in Malan Tael Palace, look for secret buttons on the walls, is marked with a rune, inside another area which is accessed by another secret button, the button opens a wall in the south (with stairs) to Skyreach.

It's well thought out, I've played the game 3 times, I'd say that the time I was most comfortable was with this group: 4 lizards, all with ‘endure elements’ (resist all +15%) and ‘endurance’ (+25 kg -25% food). - 2 barbarians, one with light weapons, one with heavy weapons, max dexterity and strength. - 1 alchemist doing mage work, archer (because there is a bow with a brutal special magic, the bow of the elements) and firearms (which I only used expressly against bosses), I never used cannons for anything, only dragonrifle, machine guns, etc... The alchemist is the character in which I invested more skill points books. - 1 battle mage, with purely magical tasks and magic items. However I'm waiting for a new version of this mod to come out (as long as it takes), I want to pass it again on Hard and this time with 2 barbarians (light and heavy weapons) and 1 fighter instead of alchemist (for the great speed casting secondary magic items, which in this mod there are many) and a battle mage (for all types of magic). I might also put one of the barbarians as a fighter (to take advantage of the skulls). Herbs are not a problem in this mod, there is enough money and you can buy them in the shops, that's why I don't see the alchemist as relevant. As you have explained, it is also a good idea for the wizard to be human.

Haha, For the WARG: Kill them with the magic cane that throws poison and you hide and let it act, also simply attacking and fleeing one step back and always have freeze bombs in case they surround you, the freeze bombs in this mod are very good against the ambushes of ratlings and warg. Regarding the mod: I think this mod is unique and nothing will ever beat this mod in Grimrock 2, except a new official Grimrock game, I do not think anyone can do something better with the grimrock 2 engine, not only technically but in story, levels and secrets well done. The only thing to criticize (always from my point of view) is that there are too many monsters in some levels (I don't mean the bosses) and it gets a bit long and repetitive, otherwise it's the perfect dungeon crawler. Regarding the gameplay: I had passed it before in HARD (in fact I have uploades all the boss fights in hard th-cam.com/play/PLXREATG5ylhO1j3nNSFJArHEeMknjn7Wf.html , but when I decided to do the replay I didn't want to complicate my life, now I regret it, if a new version comes out after a while maybe I'll pass it again in hard and hang the complete gameplay on youtube. @@Alenka6536 The black flag of the library cannot be opened in the V204R version until you reach a level called PIRATE BASTION and get a dialogue with a character. In version V206R this was changed and the flag can be opened from the beginning without going through Pirate Bastion. The “skeleton figurine” is another change that was made in the V206R version, I collaborated in these changes with the author, Bongobeat, and I know everything by heart, the “skeleton figurine” was before in a level called “Prison” that was removed because it caused technical problems and was quite boring, then the item was moved to Skycity. @@nikolatorgross Very good mod, a bit disconcerting at the beginning (it starts "too open” and with almost no information), but when you've moved through at least two levels it's a lot of fun.

Not a bug, it is deliberate, always appear and disappear in the same places.
