There is an 1898 Montgomery Manually Controlled Freight Elevator in this building as well as a 1958 Montgomery Hydraulic Freight Elevator.

It's amazing these still hold up. Many Montgomery Vectors are sadly modernized due to a lack of ADA Compliance. Also among them is my local former Sears at Coral Square, in that case with Epco Survivor Plus in early 2013. That mall's two Westinghouse elevators got modded later on as well - JCPenney by GAL in mid 2019 & the Macy's Men's Store into a Schindler HXpress in early 2023 - leaving only a Dillard's exclusive International Elevator with Black Innovation Universal (the elevator in my profile picture, & one of Kohl's best elevators) completely original there. th-cam.com/video/1S8yFGSRRAI/w-d-xo.html

The machine room for this is in the service corridor. To access it, go to the 2nd floor and make a left turn and go straight until you see double black doors. Going through those doors you should see a staircase, go down the stairs and the machine room door should be to the right. NOTE: I’m not telling you to go look for it (that’s up to you). I am just telling you where it’s located.

Ahhh how do we stop of silence it? I have one next to my new apartment that has been going off for 3 weeks non stop every 30-60 seconds. It feels like some torture device already. Maint can't stop it and there is no speaker for me to cover up with a towel or anything to make it less annoying.
