    How good do you think that LMR240 would work with GMRS on a 50ft Length?

    • @juanaragon3771
      @juanaragon3771 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I’m not sure. From what I’ve seen, LMR400 is more popular for longer runs.

      @@juanaragon3771 Its doing very good, my swr dropped down to 1.09 from about a 2.0 using PotaFlex from Italy. But thanks for the Reply. Oh but I got AMR400, suppose to be just as good which now i think it is.

    The reason why you're not supposed to crimp it twice all the way to the end of the connector is because you want that part to still be round and just a snug fit on the coax. That's better from a strain relief perspective and if you're pulling hard enough on it for that first crimp alone to be insufficient then your cable is already destroyed. It's not like it makes a huge difference but it's no different than adding heat shrink. You're trying to avoid stress concentrations where you're going from a nice flexible cable to the rigid and unyielding connector.

      Two inches will do it, and she'll take it just make sure the suspensions are in good shape or you'll deal with bad ball joints alot. Personally the kit i have are these little pucks you can screw between the strut and the bearing plate..fits on the rear shocks too of course.

    I have a cheap crimp tool from Amazon, which has .046 and .068 (not .052). I have used .068 on several of these connectors’ center pin on KMR240 cable and it works fine.

    I've been looking to buy one, have you had any cv joint issues?

    • @juanaragon3771
      @juanaragon3771 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes RRO is the most common place to order from. I would suggest getting tires one size smaller than mine, 65 instead of 70, because they barely fit and can rub sometimes. I have not had any issues, although I feel that the tires are wearing a little uneven, even with the alignment having been done. The spacers for the front suspension have snapped the bolt holding the struts to the body for some people. This has not happened to me, but I can see how it is possible, because the spacers are not the best design possible, and they focus a lot of pressure on the top bolt, whereas the factory mount spreads out this pressure in a design that fills the entire pocket mount on the body.
