There isn't any other transforming mecha show that gets their mech designs as great as Macross. Especially when the VF-1 is the mecha F-14. Each subsequent VF designs keeps getting better and better with their designs getting more designs from other countries fighter jets and some are an original from Shoji Kawamori himself.
