I can’t wet shave all the time because I get too many bumps on my face

When I apply the finished lather to my face, how much water should I have on my face? Should I wipe the water off my face and then apply the lather to my face, otherwise the water on my face will dilute the lather I worked so hard to make?

Hi, are you able to name the shop or shops where you found this stuff? I was able to find Proraso and Prep at tobacco shops or grocery stores like Conad for example. Cheers!

Great job with that parker straight. And i agree with using whatever technique works for you. Im not a barber so i feel whatever method gives a comfortable result, thats what i go with. Been using the same razor you have for some time now and yes it does take a light touch and some getting used too. I've moved to using a half Feather blade in it and have noticed much smoother results but man....no margin for error with that Feather blade! You'll know it when to make a bad move. And great old school aftershave you got there. Still an old favorite of mine. Great job on the shave!👍

I use the Captain's Choice Obsidian and am equally thrilled with this bowl. I decided against the standard bowl because water and ultimately dirt accumulates under the bent edge that cannot be removed.

Why does it dissapate so fast when I lather?

im searching strong subtle barbershop scent and i understand the PAA Good Vibrations is great but i wonder if to gamble on it or Zingahri Man Gents or Wanderer they are both Barbershop scents ,according to reviews the Gents is amazing

Great shave Matt! Nice to see some warm weather scents being reviewed right now. In my opinion too many people are strictly seasonal shavers. Too many great soaps in the den to have them just sit around for 3 quarters of the year. I love aggressive razors nowadays, but I’d be lying if I said I didn’t bust out my milder ones too. Sometimes the mood calls for an easier type shave where not as much focus is required. Great review of a nice sounding scent. Enjoy your week!

Great shave Matt! Lots of excitement in the air with the twins on the way soon! Very happy for you guys! Man I tell ya...ever since I smelled the doppleganger plum from PAA, I couldn't believe more artisans didn't utilize a plum note in their products. It's such a great, under appreciated scent. This soap always caught my eye, and to no surprise it doesn't dissapoint. Definitely adding this one to the list. Always a smart idea to revisit razors and master them. You inspired me to bust out my fatboy again. Have a great upcoming weekend man!

Nice one Matt👍 IAMCDB's lathering method is an excellent one to base your own lathering skills on, the starting slow and not splay knot too much too early are important attributes of his method and it keeps the lather dense. Take care my friend and enjoy your twins🤟🤠🤟

Great video! I had to stop what I was doing and go smell my Pepoered Plum haha. It really is a great scent. If you ever come across Barrister And Mann's "Electric Mayhem", that's a great plum scent. Congratulations on the twins! Crowne And Crane is run by a lady named Liz. She's a one-woman show and has had some personal stuff going on so has slowed down. However, she is usually very good about making a set if you ask her to. She's a wonderful person and absolutely worth supporting. (Does her own labels too!) I appreciate the mention and the tag. I'm very glad you like it. I'm overdue to use a C&C set. Take care!

Looks good man! Love the mix of legacy soaps as well as modern artisans. Love the blades on the wall and how you store the razors hanging on the shelf like that. My razor storage isn’t anything fancy either. I just have them all piled up in a cigar box lol. I think efficiency always wins over looks and displays. I look forward to the reviews man! Hey. Congrats. I have lil' kids (2 and 4). If I could only use stirling for the rest of my life I guess I'd be more than happy. One thing tho, I dilute down their splashes with some home grown aloe vera juice, a little too much burn... for me. Have a good one.

I’ve seen some people mention that Stirling is bad/or they are “above” using Stirling. Utter nonsense, like you said. Stirling performs as well as any high end soap. You just can’t go wrong.
