Being Excluded Causes You PHYSICAL PAIN - According To Your Brain
Your brain processes physical and emotional pain in the same way. Being excluded triggers a primal response in your brain due to it not feeling safe. This is because, for our ancestors, not being a part of a group meant suffering death.
It is something that you have experienced yourself at one time or another. And, in a lot of cases, emotional pain can take longer to recover from than physical.

PROTECT Your More Valuable Resource: Your Time
มุมมอง 33หลายเดือนก่อน
Instead of working to "gain back lost time", protect it in the first place! Our time is precious. It's a finite resource; once it's gone, there's no getting it back. Instead of working to compensate for stretching yourself too thin and spending time on things that don't truly matter to you, try this instead: Get it right in the beginning. It may seem uncomfortable at first to decline an invitat...
The SECRET to Peak Performance? Take a Nap!
มุมมอง 11หลายเดือนก่อน
Your brain needs to be well rested in order to perform at its best. If you are sleep-deprived, there is no way that you can do your best work. Companies that are truly innovative and thinking about the health of their teams know that running folks into the ground and allowing them to burn out is NOT the way. Google has even gone so far as to add nap pods at their headquarters to allow their tea...

Your Face Is Not Important (When It Comes To Meetings)
มุมมอง 26หลายเดือนก่อน
It's not your face that is important It's your voice. Many meetings could have just been an email... And equally, many video-calls could have just been a phone call. Voice-only calls actually do just as well, if not better in some cases, than video-calls for ensuring productive and high-quality discussions. If people are disengaging from the meeting that has been scheduled, they are zoning out ...
How To ELIMINATE Time Clutter To Get MORE Mental Space
มุมมอง 46หลายเดือนก่อน
Your time is your most valuable resource. So it only makes sense that when too many people are demanding a piece of it, that it can be overwhelming or stressful. Sometimes as business professionals, we can feel that we are at the mercy of our calendar and who wants a meeting with us. By finding ways to assert healthy boundaries and bring some of the control and power over your time back to YOU,...

How to GAIN Control and REBALANCE Your Life
มุมมอง 29หลายเดือนก่อน
"I'm overwhelmed. I don't know where to start!" You're not alone. Making changes in your life and routine can be hard when you don't know where to begin. Especially so when the task at hand seems too big to tackle! When it comes to streamlining your life and making space for what you really care about, my advice is to start small and to show up consistently. For me, that was setting a 15-minute...
You CAN'T be Everything to Everyone. You NEED Boundaries.
มุมมอง 1282 หลายเดือนก่อน
You can't be everything to everyone. Social clutter eats away at your time to engage with what truly matters to you. Culturally, a lot of us have been influenced to feel that we cannot say No to someone for fear of being rude or making them think poorly of us. The truth is, the more that we say Yes to others when we don't really want to, the more that we are saying No to ourselves. Let's bring ...
Should You Trust Your Gut (Intuition)?
มุมมอง 522 หลายเดือนก่อน
Have you ever over-thought yourself out of a good thing? I would wager the answer is yes, at least once. Overthinking about our decisions can actually make us less satisfied with them. Sometimes, we just need to trust our gut and ask our higher-order brain to turn off for a moment. Not all "correct" decisions need to come from a place of intense scrutiny and objective reasoning. Trust yourself ...
Can you really have it all?
มุมมอง 662 หลายเดือนก่อน
Do you have to pick just one? A happy family/kids OR your sanity OR a clean home? I don't think so. And neither does your brain. Everyone will be different, however, the one thing that the neuroscience agrees on for all of us is the more physical clutter we have in our spaces, the more our stress will increase. It's about finding the balance that works best for you and your household. #Mindset ...

Thanks for sharing this. Great tips.
Yes, yes
Brilliant and so simple! Have you ever thought about posting them as reels, doctor? They are bomb and should go viral, the world needs it! Thanks for the knowledge ❤
🎉
No.... definitely Lizard brain has more striking stimulation than the limbic system and than frontal lobe... but if you are aware .... you can supress limbic system with frontal lobe
But then they wouldn't be in a "fight" at that point.
Everyone who feels stressed should watch this video!
You are certainly right
Thank you for sharing this video and your message. I'm doing a lot of deep thinking about my work, passion, and mission in life. And I am trying to learn how to optimize it for fun. Because I believe that is the only way to truly last

Very relevant - I’d like to know best practices from the „knowledge work service sector“ like consulting - which is still billed by the hour (mostly). So there’s a very practical (accounting!) obstacle to be overcome. Does anyone know prominent examples where this has been solved?
I was 19 years old in 1995. I had a secret. I prayed that I would forget and I remembered in 2015. So it happened.
After a workout start with a cold shower, feels good on the brain and finish with a short cold shower.
Great content
Friederike, it was a fantastic live. Very practical and inspiring.
I'm glad you enjoyed it, Beata!
Your advice is greatly appreciated. The incorporation of scientific references and studies sets you apart. Love your books!

You're welcome!
I'm a bit afraid of decluttering my group just because I don't like them, some of them are my colleagues 🙂
That does make it a bit more difficult. Maybe you can make sure to keep as much of a distance as possible.
wow very nice video
Thank you.
Me too, using secondary Personality exhausting
Very true. Just try to convince the school boards of it.
The irony is that I found this material while doom scrolling... My brain does tell me that this is a self-harming behaviour and pulls my attention to videos like this one. So, "I" can analyse my brain as another actor, create a distance and apply restrictions to it. When you think about it, my brain is criticizing itself or at least correcting its own destructive tendencies. My cheeky brain is like Nelson from Simpson and keeps saying: "Stop hitting yourself". My question is - since my brain is a slippery fish, how do I apply the necessary level of discipline in order to change its behaviour? It feels like a vicious circle of stressful self-criticism. Any other tricks that can trick my tricky brain?
It's about practice and giving yourself time to change behaviours. It won't happen overnight. Noticing when you are starting to doom scroll, and putting the phone down and getting a quick bout of exercise or focusing your attention on something else will gradually help over time.
@@FriederikeFab Thank you for the advice and quick reply. I appreciate it! So basically, it is like everything else in life. Small ladder steps instead of measuring the distance to the top. Re-wiring the brain is a slow process.
Love your videos!
Thank you. I'm glad to hear that.
🎉
Amazing! Could these two signatures exist in the same person or different moments of life? Thank you!
Yes, absolutely! The brain is a structure that is always changing.
Thank you. Warm regards and respect to you from Jakarta, Indonesia.
Thank you too!
