Where is harmony on low caste Hindus in india ? First bring genuine equality between low caste & high caste hindus, then harmony in india. Later in the world. You know many dalits are treated like a garbage bin. Even kids of low caste in all government schools & remote schools of cities are treated as untouchable. He let slip that he would like the French right to gain power. Later he also provides a very stark statement that Ukrainians might be considered 'nazis' ... I presume that de Gourdon's position, evidences by such a statement, is strongly in alignment with the Russian invasion? That the world should justifiably be critical of Western (read particularly 'USA') values, that often reflect purely American interests, is quite understandable. However, Ukraine is the agent of their own independent status and (like Russia) looks for support for its resistance from wherever it can find it. To support the idea of Russian imperialism (this has been articulated by Putin himself) is a ridiculous approach to critiquing American imperialism. Surely it's imperialism that is wrong, not whose imperialism wins? If we question the values based international order of state boundedness, won't India's claimed borders with China also lose legal legitimacy?

I'm afraid that the platform upon which this discussion is carried out is absurd. Look at other nationalist and popularist leadership in the world ... Russia, Hungry, Israel, and Boris Johnson/Nigel Farage in the UK, Trump in the US, etc. ... and you will find that the playbook is the same. India is not a 'victim' of a world conspiring to undermine it. There is no grand conspiracy (with reference to George Orwell's 1984). I look on from the outside because I am worried that the rhetoric of divisiveness (as with each of these other examples) - framing impending doom as the instrument of 'outsiders', with emphasis frighteningly on disenfranchising its own Muslim population - is leading India away from the protection of its secular constitution into what appears to the outside world as some sort of unrepresentative Hindu theocracy. The success of this election is that, despite a BJP capture of the tools of government and media (with its clear assault on opposition and critique), its project has failed to equally capture the electorate.
