    • @Letsgobyland
      @Letsgobyland 12 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา

      You are welcome. We choose bus because when you go from Georgia to Turkey there is no train connection near by. So its easier to take a bus. From Ankara we could take a train to Istanbul but we decided to basicaly cross whole turkey by bus. Just for fun. We used trains in turkey in opossite direction on our journey Amsterdam to Dubai. If you want to see trains in turkey we have videos on our chennel too.

      @Letsgobyland I understood bits and pieces of the post by Alexei Maksimov, who no doubt wrote the post in Russian. Although by the early-2010s I’d taught myself to transliterate that language’s alphabet, understanding others has been hard. That said, I admire the sound of Russian, with Canada, the country in which I have always lived, having one of the largest Russian-speaking communities in the world outside the former Soviet Union.

    I like the idea of traveling by land even if it takes a little longer. Yet until there are trains that travel underneath more of the world’s oceans and gulfs, air travel may very well be the most practical way of jumping between continents that unlike nearby parts as well connected by train, road or boat.

    • @Letsgobyland
      @Letsgobyland 18 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา

      Yes traveling by land is best if you want to explore a lot. Flying is good if you wanna go fast from A to B

      @ Before having viewed that video of yours I hadn’t known there had been ferries linking the UAE to Iran. get after that they’re no doubt our links overland between Iran and the European Union that don’t involve travelling through Russia. I grew up with the 1980s in Canada during an era of a massive Iron Curtain between countries in Western Europe and those further east. After the 1990s breakup of the Soviet Union, followed by that of Yugoslavia, links by road and rail made overland travel into many other parts of Europe easier. That said, who would’ve thought that, pandemic aside, travelling overland between Belarus and the EU would in 2021 become a lot harder, followed by overland travel from Russia? Although the Yugoslav wars had long ended, making travel throughout much of the Balkans a lot easier, Ukraine isn’t that far from parts of the Balkans, with Romania bordering Ukraine in the northeast and southeast. Hopefully travel through the Balkans to the EU will continue to go smoothly, even with all the issues so many within the Balkans still have, because as the Russo-Ukraine war has shown, land links can be severed for years. Who knows if travel by bus, airplane or train will resume normally anytime soon between the Belarus-Russia Union State (BRUS) and EU countries that border such Union State? It might not have been from the 1990s to January 2022 necessarily a breeze to cross from Belarus or Russia to any EU member state bordering either former Soviet republic, but things have become a lot harder since then including bans on some types of vehicles registered within the BRUS from crossing into the EU and trains that if operated by the Russian or Belarusian state railway company are now banned from entering the EU to pick up or drop off passengers there.

    Correct me if I'm wrong am wrong but the ATM is inside a closed area which is generally not open at 8 am when most of the trains go. Make sure you have cash if you need it before you go to the station. Definitely a shortage of baggage storage. I think the luggage problem started when they opened the Kutaisi Airport station. It never used to be like this. Last time I travelled, it was like that too. Madness. However the train generally runs on time. For travelling to Batumi there is also a comfortable bus solution. Companies like Citibus operate very decent services from Ortachala bus station in Tbilisi.

    • @Letsgobyland
      @Letsgobyland 2 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Yes you are right. Doesnt really make sence with atm. So must be ready a day before. Yes most of the peoplw went to kutaisi airport station. Bus was our second plan. Exactly the company you said. Hope they fix the lagguage thing because that was really bad

    Impressive voyage! Slightly disappointed you didn't take the train between Ankara and Istanbul; You'd have paid the almost the same price for the business class on the Siemens Velaro (ICE 3) train set. The cheapest, yet best value for money, business class in Europe.
