It was a real challenge putting all this together "for me at least" since I haven't any knowledge of Python and Javascript prior to learning the last two courses on CS50. Yeah the same happened to my laptop. Nvidia for some reason (the mobile chips at least) doensn't provide dsr (nvidias method of upscaling).

So if I have a 1440p monitor I can do the AMD thing and then go to monitor resolution and put in the 4 k settings and it will work?

It didn't run dayz very well. 60fps.and jerky. Put back to 1440 and runs sweet at 200. Maybe I try it on cyberpunk
@@nateUKdayz Yeah when you use amd vsr you're in other words playing on 4k so no difference there... the framerate will dip hard (just as normal 4k). 60fps on 4k is quite crazy if you ask me, for most people at least-- idk bout you 🤗. I can't run games in 4k more than 20-30 fps on my laptop.

la opcion de Super resolucion Virtual no me aparece, hace unos meses la vengo usando y hace 1 semana no me aparece mas Super resolucion virtual. Saben cual sera el error? Tengo una rx580 de 8gb, me fije y sigue siendo compatible y tengo los ultimos drivers de amd. Que habra pasado?
Did this happen when you updated your graphics driver? Try rolling back & check again

@@SkySentry7how do i activate VSR? my desktop resolution is 1360x768 and i always play with that resolution but when i lower to 1280x or 720x it didnt upscale to 1360x. help 😂
This true 4k resolution?
Its an upscaling method, cannot be compared to Native 4k since it doesn't have the pixels. Its good to have if you want crisp and high quality gaming.

I have an MSI ultra wide 2560x1080 if I select this option i get 5120x2160 3840x1620 3440x1440 2560x1080(recommended) 2310x990 2100x990 1920x10809(current, I am not using ultrawide because I prefer record full screens for for display in youtube). which ones would get me the best resolutions ? ( i am guessing 4k?)
While gaming the 5120x2160 gives the best quality OFC. But I think AMD didn't work well on the sharpening for the text, so I would stick to resolutions close to your native maybe (3440x1440)
@@SkySentry7 but it does make the screen go 100% ultra wide and for the screen recording to show in youtube fully ( without leaving black spaces ) I think I have to stick with 1920*1080 (unless you think otherwise, Id appreciate your advice) i tried kinda cutting the screen but doesnt really work. Im guessing I could try 3440*1440 and then in the game put 1920*1080? would that give me 4k ?
@@AirspeedisLife No it wouldn't the game would play at the resolution you set for it ingame settings, not the desktop resolution. So if you want clarity ofcourse go for higher resolution for gaming, it would render it in higher resolution then downscale it to match your native resolution making textures and edges more crisp and non aliased If you don't mind the black edges you can stick to 3440x1440

hey i have a question, how long did it take u to finish cs50? and did u get outside help from friends / tutors?
(1) It took me abt 5 months. Full time being classes and doing CS50 in my free time. (2) No I didn't get any help. it's a relatively easy project I chose since It was my first time. I wanted to start small :D
When im playing the game (Grand Theft Auto IV), its all normal, but after, like, 3-7 minutes playing, the game starts stuttering for like an minute and then it goes back to normal and it keeps happening 24/7 any solution?
What gpu? Maybe its your vram limitation

Like Nvidia DSR enables shimmering text on screen when set at 4K through upscaling, does VSR has the same problem? If yes, do they offer Smoothness slider to fix this?
Sadly, its same with both technologies(There is a lil shimmering). As far as I know there isn't any slider to control the smoothness. But as long as you don't go too far with the upscaling, y'll be aight.
For example, I had a monitor with 1366x768 resolution. It used to put simmers and aliasing when set at 1083p @ x1.50 setting, but worked absolutely fine with 1550p x@4.00 setting. If VSR does not offer the similar viability in upscaling, then this is a big turnoff for me as I was planning to upgrade to AMD graphics card.

Is VSR Systemwide FSR ?
No that's RSR. This is supersampling tech, which will marginally improve visuals but eats resources

RSR is basically "driver level" FSR and what you'd use when a game doesn't support FSR. It renders at a lower resolution and upscales them to your native. VSR renders at a higher res, and rescales it at your native res. Basically opposites. RSR gives your more frames at slightly worst image quality and VSR gives you slightly better image quality at the cost of some frames.@@niroop87
@@JohnnyBoy-sy8jt ty for the explaination i spent hours today looking for difference between them and almost went to conclusion both are same lol (thanks to amd confusing naming scheme). Also i have noticed no difference in fps while playing witcher 3, genshin and metro exodus on vsr any idea why is that? it was surely running on 4k resolution in game according to game settings.

My windows display setup doesn't list such resolution after do that, even the new "Custom Resolution" functionality doesn't let set the resolutions manually. Can someone help?

Yea you will get 3300x2100 which is nearly 4k. No real difference

Yeah AMD is the integrated gpu(just like intel).. while the Rtx is dedicated.

If I decrease the resolution of my game (Hell Let Loose) on my laptop for performance (without VSR). I have to increase the resolution scaling and/or Anti-aliasing to compensate for the reduction in pixels. With VSR, I set my native resolution higher than 1080p, and then in game settings to 720p. I can then turn off anti-aliasing and decrease the resolution scaling without any noticeable picture quality issues. And the performance is amazing. VSR is amazing!

I used vsr to run my game at 1440p on a 1080p display, however it wasn't producing good results because of aliasing and bad text. Can someone suggest me something ??
@@jayantsiwatch1145 it's the resolution. Try adjusting the resolution scale and see if that helps

I highly recommend buying these 2 applications. 1 is called Magic Borderless which is the same thing as this video. The other app is called Lossless Scaling. I use Magic Borderless to downsample all my games from 1080p to 720p. Then upscale the downsample window to 4k. This is the end result. th-cam.com/video/SGJJ8geaGwA/w-d-xo.html

How to enable it on rx560 4gb? Never showed the option ever in years. Native of the tv 1024x768. It used to work on r9 270 till it was discontinued on a driver update

My game RDR2 crashes after a time when using it, I don't know how to solve it.
Bro enabling VSR has a high cost in performance... so if you don't have a decent secondary GPU, Don't use it. Only use it for more view while doing other stuff...
