by using deep blue in the shop you missed out on 1k extra stats on your buddy for the final fight.

haha I'm not a pro that's for sure; I'm currently at 8.1k and climbing, but as Ive pointed out to others MMR isn't my main focus, or to be more accurate, I'm willing to sacrifice MMR if I'm attempting to try something interesting or new (like my infinite corrupted cupcakes video with voone, which i didnt end up winning sadly) I think my main goal is to show people I'm not a pro, but you can do these things in BGs even if you're not a pro--kind of like "if I, a non-pro, can do it, so can you"

You know what, i rewatched that part and I concede to your point; i think i got a bit of tunnel vision because of the two golden hunters of gathers and the meme part of my brain was just like “maximize hunter buff triggers!”

I know it's not a satisfying answer, but it really depends a lot on who your opponent's heros are and what tribes are in I'm not a pro player, but based on the games I've played after the recent patch, I've found mechs to be pretty consistent and relatively easy to build towards; I think it's because mechs don't necessarily rely on tier 6; beatboxer is great of course, but i've had matches where I won with mechs with 0 beatboxers

well I don't really think wins only are necessarily interesting; I prefer to try to experiment with more fun things, things that don't happen that often (like surviving long enough to copy near infinite cupcake spells), even if it means not getting first place necessarily; trying to explore the boundaries of how crazy bg can get

I really wanted to; I would have had to sell my scallywag to ensure the nala buffs went to the cleave pirate but without spell generation at that point i was worried it wouldnt get big fast enough

I mean, I don't really play for mmr; I play for making fun, interesting, or unique builds... in the grand scheme of things i feel like mmr is pretty meaningless, especially if you get high mmr by only spamming the same meta builds every time (look at Kripparrian's videos and he mostly sticks around the 6 to 7k mmr area; he mentioned himself in one video that it's on purpose because higher mmr becomes boring in terms of game variety, with rare exceptions)
