They have updated these. I just installed them on a 2024 DR-Z400S with no modifications. They came with longer bolts and the right spacers also.
Great video. It helped me to decided on the Molecule full wrap for my 24 KTM .
Thanks. I was going to do a post season follow up and show how they faired but after a number of falls, scrapes and drops, they still look as good as new.
@@hillquestdualsport I just bought and installed these full wrap molecules today on my KTM. Can’t wait to test ride. I know they’ll work like they did for you.
I have exactly the same button, i'm able to just reach fingers in and pull it out. Just hook a finger either side and pull.
you think a 225XT Serow would be adequate out in Waiparous? trying to decide on a first bike and there is some serious draw to the dual sport idea
Hey, thanks for asking. The 225 Serow is a very good starter bike, you can't go wrong with a Yamaha and you can't go wrong with a dual sport if you want it legal on any road. It is not that heavy and would do well on any gravel road, 4x4 trail or ATV track out there or at McLean Creek. I don't think I would want to run it on the highway for too long, it just wont have the top end. I suspect yo will outgrow it in 1 season then I would be looking at the Honda crf300 as a next dual sport.
@hillquestdualsport I'm 6'3 with a 31 inseam, would it be to small lol? Otherwise I might be in the market for a simple dirtbike i.e. kx250
@@sf4769 Yah, you are a bit tall for the 225. Keep me in the lop on what you decide.
@@hillquestdualsport thanks appreciate the input and will do!
@@hillquestdualsport ended up going with a KX250F, wont be dual sporting but it fits nice on a hitch carrier on my ford Ranger.. pretty excited about it and might try to get some used tires to stud for ghost lake riding in the winter!
Hope it's not the last ride of the fall for you. Weather is pretty moderate in the Ozarks.
Here in Alberta, in the fall when the weather turns it gets pretty cold with snow. Here's hoping your season extends a little longer. Thanks for watching.
@@hillquestdualsport Sorry, I mixed you up with someone who rides in Arkansas. Quite different climates!
That hill used to terrify me too 😂😂 we’ve come a long way I missed all the good fall riding 😢 hopefully I can get out again before it’s absolutely crap and I have to stud the dirtbike tires
I rode like a grandpa and just wanted to enjoy the day. If you do get out again before the snow really falls, let me know and I might join you.
beat those handlebars back into place lol...the dust reminds me of riding in the Yukon
Thanks for watching through to the end. That was an interesting day for sure, and I did actually read the content of the sign when I edited the video. At the campsite, another rider shared that a lot of the logging truck drivers are also dual sport or ATV riders so they will slow down for safety.
@@hillquestdualsport ahhh, that makes perfect sense! Very kind!! 💜💜🤗🤗
nice logging truck drivers there! why so different in Alberta?
great little hike...did you read the sign later, lol?
riding and spelunking...what a great combination! Sorry your cave video didn't work out!
Man logging trucks in northern Alberta will run anyone off the road. They’ve got the right of way on the lease roads. I was told to give them space when I was a medic in the oilfield. And that if you have to hit the ditch, do it. Sometimes they’ll stop and pull you out after 😂 luckily I didn’t have to hit the ditch but I did come across a few that made the butt pucker with how little room there was 😂
My son hauled logs up north AB for a while and his attitude was that it was his road, he was always in a hurry so give hi space.
@@hillquestdualsport yeah that was accurate up there for sure haha
Yes, the attitudes of the logging trucks north island id pretty awesome. South Island…..completely different story!!
You said that at camp but from my experience, I was a little uncertain. This truck driver was awesome.
Great Vid Tony! fun to relive the "dust storm" :)
Thanks Chris. If there are any shorts you want for your video, let me know and I can grab them for you then send through email.
Got a Comfort Low for my Beta 500. Stock seat was too tall and hard; it was awful. The SC looked better, was about a 1/2" shorter, felt better at first, but there isn't enough padding. After a long ride there's not enough support. Will try a standard comfort next.
Beautiful fall colors !
Yes indeed. That is Mother Nature's trickery to deceive you with beauty before she dumps 3 feet of snow. I hope I still have a few more good rides before that happens.
That’s a super cool ride! Some interesting terrain changes for sure. I liked when you guys went through the cut blocks, got to see it open up a bit and take it in the vast scenery around you! Awesome 👌🏼
I want to ride that again next year.
Yup another fun ride!
Celebrity cameo by Shoestring ADV 😉 Wishing I could go ride that again right now ! Thanks for capturing the ride 👍
So much fun, I love elevation rides for the reward of the view.
That was a great ride!!!
It was right up there as one of the best of the year. Thanks for leading.
Oh man I was so close to the top of that middle line. I could taste it 😂
Nice video Tony ! Looks like lots of fun. (You can’t snooze at all otherwise you hit a tree 🌳) 😅
Good to hear from you :) Agreed, although even paying full attention I still manage to hit a number of trees and rocks, and puddles and......
Imma do this trip. On the new bike
Nice. It was a lot of fun but I think the 390 was just a little to small for all those kms all at once. Next year I will break it up a bit. I hope you are doing well.
@@hillquestdualsport great videos. I really enjoyed them. Makes me miss the island. You thinking of keeping the 390? Or upgrading to the bigger version of it at all?
Prior to this island trip, I wondered haw capable and comfortable the 390 would be. Questions answered on both fronts, and I think I am keeping it for a while. If anything I am thinking I may swap the Victory out for an Africa Twin.
@@hillquestdualsporthow often did you have to fill up?, that’s awesome those bikes are so fun to ride! Yes, I met up rode with someone that had one. I think that would be an awesome trade up. Bike was so technically advanced, fuel rage on that thing was unreal. And I’m curious to see your review on it.
I have a range of 300+ kms on a tank. Round trip I spend $233 in fuel.
Nice! When we scouted that route last year there was a big ole black bear at the lake to great us.
That's exciting. I was hoping to catch a glimpse of wildlife up there, not this time.
@@hillquestdualsport no, sadly they were pretty elusive this year. First time I’ve gone up island and not seen a bear. Did see that monster elk cross the highway after the Devils Bath Brewery tho.
Good times Uncle Tony!
The braaap of your bike in the mine was awesome.
@@hillquestdualsport lol a lot louder than I thought
You passed by two roads I recognized from rides we went on! Vedder Mountain outside of Vancouver and Bear Creek in Kelowna! Also, that’s a really cool Polynesian style tattoo on the foot! I like it
I never stop at rogers pass discovery center. Good to know they expect a park pass to enter. They can shove it.
Awesome, I bet you time your trip through the Fraser Valley different next time ! Lol
My commute to work is 4 minutes in high traffic so this was an alien experience for me for sure. I wonder what it's like at 2 am?
@@hillquestdualsport lol that day was definitely worse than normal but it seems that corridor is busy from 5:30 to 9 or so
Stayed in that exact same hotel in Hope ages ago. Too bad you missed out on the Mini golf! Good on ya for riding out to the event and not truck/trailering 👍🏻 Great to finally meet ya in person!
Thanks for watching. It was good to experience the full ride once but if I get selected for 2025, my aching back may consider the trailer option.
@@hillquestdualsport totally get that 👍🏻👊🏼
Any reason to go that slow?
I usually slow down when the camera is on.
Nice route, what sequence of marker # did you follow?
That was starting at 78, 76, 74 and 72
@@hillquestdualsport Thanks I'll give it a try
looks like a fun place to ride. thanks for sharing
How did it ride in the new section? I see that tree was down literally at the end of where we were working 😂 thanks for removing it
That trail is one of the best out there I think. Always going uphill and not too many difficult technical sections. We removed three trees from the trail that day after that big windstorm. Ashton also went for a swim in a mud hole on grizzly.
@@hillquestdualsport sounds like an eventful day!
there’s not 100 install videos of these! There’s literally none!
Agreed. There are a lot of videos on how to install bar ends and handguards but not for this brand. I did a follow up with them installed and plan another for a post season review in a month or two.
Hi Tony nice to see you going moto-camping. I 'm still gathering gear. I see you have the rhinowalk bags. I have a rhino walk tail bag and 2 of the 6L drybags with tools etc strapped to my crash bars. I have the tusk pannier racks and pilot bags and tusk Olympus tank bag.
Looks like you are well set up already. I was a bit concerned that the 390 was going to be under powered with the added weight but I really didn't notice it much. I love that bike.
I have been thinking. If you can wheelie, you can get over any mud pit there is.
True. The 390 doesn't wheelie that great but the next time, I am going for it.
Probably good you didn't go through the water hole at 3:25 I went through it in my Jeep this past Sunday and it was a lot deeper than it used to be.
Close call then. I just about convinced myself not to worry so much and just send it. I guess it proved a first instinct is always the right decision. Thanks for watching.
Enjoyed your video. You live in paradise!
Thanks. It is a nice piece of the country for sure, so luck to have great well maintained trails.
I added 22 mm (7/8") risers, and did not need to switch out the clutch cable. The bars came slightly nearer too. This change works for me at 6' tall (183 cm).
Hi Tony great content, I haven't been to Mclean in couple years I remember riding those trails on my KLR650 when I first got into adventure riding. Most recently I would ride with friends on the WR450 all through that area. I've been wanting to go in on the 390 before I head back to Florida. Trails look good hope to see you out there someday so we can compare 390's
Tony, would you mind listing out some of the trail marker numbers? I may scout some of this on the 350 then try it on the 900 - Mike
Sure, I left from Fish East. followed to 236, 348, 364 and turned around at 496. follow that through 612 all the way to the river at 596.
@@hillquestdualsportGlad I checked it out on the 350 first, was wet out there last night!
@@mihlkaen It doesn't take much rain to fill those mud holes.
“This is not a dirtbike” 😂
Huh, I was a little quicker than I thought I was through a few of those sections haha good to know 😂 your little “ahhhhh” when you came up on Carlos a bit quick there when he stopped had me giggling pretty good 😂
Man hitting that toe twice! Didn’t realize it was at the very beginning that you broke it! That must’ve made the evening a bit more interesting lol
Still pretty sore but will be out next week. See you out there.
Thanks again for the ride, also thank you for the shoutout and I hope your toe heals quickly.
I'll just rub some dirt on it, all good. Wiil be riding next week. See you out there.
Oh no did the up and over get you?? I hate that one haha
Going to slow. Bike survived but I fell in the ditch. Wasn't my best moment.
@@hillquestdualsport I fell off a bridge once, so every time I cross this abomination I think of that and it makes me super nervous lol, so I hear ya
Hi Tony, I like your 390 content. Hope to see you out there sometime soon. I have installed the Veridian Cruise control on my 390 today and it is fantastic. Anyway keep it up. I like to see what other 390 riders are doing.
Thanks again Kelvin. I am definitely going to look into a cruise control before my 10 day ride to Van Island in September and the Veridian seems to be the option I am considering.
@@hillquestdualsport Veridian is based in Calgary. I ordered it online and got a discount using the promo code VCFacebook. I then went over to his house and picked it up. Nice guy knows his stuff.
Great video and great ride. You got my crash. lol
Hah, I hope you don't mind:) See you next time.
@@hillquestdualsport not at all. We'll ride again.
That was a great wee spot you stopped for your food. Some superb scenery, I was surprised how much traffic there was.
Hey, it was pretty sweat except for the active horse highway. .... On the long weekend it always seems to be a lot busier than usual, that's why I generally prefer to head to the foothills mid week. Although I didn't video it, I did go about 20 kms to the end of the road west of the Lodge. I only saw one vehicle out there.
@@hillquestdualsport Aye, I often don't ride on holidays.
Oooooo new bucket! Nice!
It's been 5 years with the Scorpion and time to replace. I forgot how much good safe $$$$ helmets cost.
❤❤❤❤❤
Mannnn it always feels like you’re so much higher when trying to jump, then you look back at the video and your dreams are crushed 😂😂😂
No kidding. It always feels faster, higher and farther.
Amazing 😮 off road
