Hi! I‘m a german emergency physician and I had to use my CAT Tourniquet. So I bought a new one. The only CAT that was accessible fast was a blue one. I don‘t care about colors because I‘m not in tactical scenarios. But when I received this tourniquet they printed on it „only for training use“. Is there a difference between the blue ones and the other colours? Can i use the blue one on a Patient? Thanks for your answer.

Why do you put the pressure bandage over the clothes?? That doesn’t look like it would work.

Seven years ago, I suffered a shock and fall injury at sea, and I landed on my head. I was working alone, and the fall tore my scalp wide open. I bled profusely (head injuries like to bleed), and I don't know how long it was before the bosun heard me moaning in pain and discovered me. He didn't have an IFAK, but he raised the alarm and wrapped my head with his shirt. He remembered the first aid training he had with the Boy Scouts decades before I was born, and he saved my life. I'm alive to write this comment because he was able to remember that training and react instead of panicking. Cargo ships don't have EMTs, and they don't have stored blood. If it weren't for his quick intervention to stop the bleed, I would have died. No ifs, ands, or buts, I would have died. Get a kit, get trained, be the difference.

There’s dozens of these videos on youtube and surprisingly, half of them are DEAD WRONG (meaning if you follow their advice, it may get you dead should you ever need your tourniquet in an emergency). This is actually the best video I’ve seen in that it teaches you how to stage the tourniquet correctly and it’s the shortest and easiest to understand. Keep up the good work!

I took a free stop the bleed class like 6 or 7 years ago at uc health in colorado Springs, and you guys were selling ifaks after the class. It's good to know this is still happening.
