This ride we start at Alafia and get cut short when my buddy sent it a lil' too hard. So I head over to Balm Boyette, not wanting my ride day to end. Didn't bring my phone, got lost, crashed myself, ran out of water, then started cramping up. You can count the Karma points I was about to cash in on this ride! Make better decisions than me.

I subscribed yesterday for the 3rd time fyi. Idk why youtube keeps unsubbing you smh
Thanks so much! I'll have some decent content coming soon. Just been in a bit of a funk and having to do general life things.
super fun but the trail rating would be green and blue in mountain states. those from the rockies, pnw will find this old really quick. still worth riding if visiting fl
🤘
I got to visit here last year (My aunt lives a mile from it) and it was one of the better parks I've been to in FL. It flows into multiple other trails, each with interesting stuff between them. It's nice to see a city have a park space like this. There was a fun pump track too that was super nice. You can skip the very east side, it's just kind of pine scrub land with some "trails" in it. Also, the jump park area in there... even if you're a noob (I can't jump at all)... I found this intimidating to go into, but ended up having a lot of fun, just take that stuff easy and do it multiple times. It was a blast. I started figuring things out towards the end. There's a ton of trail in there. Bring some snacks and water and do the entire thing. I can't wait to return. (I'm over in Orlando).
Looks like you enjoyed Tallahassee! Hope the house did ok.
We did! I wouldn't mind living there! Fortunately our house got by with almost no damage!
@@inbermswetrustman I just got done watching the last half. There’s a bunch it looks like you didn’t hit. But you definitely got in some of the good trails. Much much more around here too.
@@850OVERLAND I know, I saw a bunch of features on videos that I didn't come across. I honestly was getting off trail a lot, I felt like a noob. That wall ride is dope though! I'm gonna hit you up here when I go back.
Always gotta take home a little "Dirt Souvenir" 🤣
There is a lot more there to explore
I have been back since and followed Florida Flow to all the options. I still somehow missed the jump line after 3 visits! you can check out my latest trip to Mt. Dora. th-cam.com/video/75gbBwy_gms/w-d-xo.html Thanks for watching!
Hi great video where did you park at to get-to that trail?
past the drunken monkey parking. Use the heatmap feature on trail forks to see it. My buddy took us the long way, so I don't really remember how to get there.
@@inbermswetrust thank you
e bike mecca of florida lol
I dream of the hot summer day that I can join those ranks!
Super late to the party but what’s the last trail you were riding with all of the flow? (Also I want to thank you for including the drop with the cinderblocks on roller coaster, I’ve been working towards getting the confidence to ride that for 6 months)
It's Lunar Flow, its a jump line off Moonscape. It has changed quite a bit since this video. That drop is way easier than your head is making it out to be. I was the same way, then I just went for it and was like, "huh, that wasn't so bad". Send it!!
Hot damn.. This is not terribly far away. I've been out of the trail game for a bit too long. Prolly time to head down there before my bones turn to dust.
It's definitely worth it, especially now that the heat isn't so brutal.
Bro what MTB is that?
Trek Fuel EX5 with some upgrades.
Cool
Thank You!
Nicely done
Thank you! Cheers!
What’s the width in your bars? Just got a new top fuel and they are 780. Thinking about cutting down to 750.
785 is the factory width. They are Spank Spoon40s
I’m new this area I have a question that you never show in the videos. Do you have to ride through the green trails to get to the blue trails or black?
You can take the access road (FTR) around most of the park. I'll probably start at South Abyss and work my way down toward Sidewinder.
I was out there 2 weeks ago, every time I’d stop I was swarmed by skeeters.
Yeah, they will carry you off to their lair if you hang out too long!
Yea bug spray is a must there lol
Where is this??
Mt Dora is near Orlando.
Is this meant to be this trippy? 😮😅
Kinda, it is a pretty wild looking place.
@@inbermswetrust the trees, the speed, the field of view, it all makes this all the more wild to watch! 👌🙏💯
What bike are you riding? I'm looking to transition from gravel to a MTB.
Trek Fuel Ex5, but I upgraded the fork, brakes, tires, saddle and bars.
Just realized I have the same bike. I have a fuji rakan 1.3 as well.
I ride a Trek Fuel EX. So I looked your bike up, good looking bike! The back half looks just like my Trek, but where it connects to the steerer tube it looks like my wife's Giant Trance. They took the best looking parts of two bikes and made a sweet one!
@@inbermswetrust Im sayin, i have a fuel ex and a rakan. The rakan is much less forgiving but they are both very capable bikes. Fuji claims its a hybrid bike.. a trail mixed with an enduro
Listening to you gulp for air by the truckload brings back just enough memory to remind me that I don't need to head back there any time soon. This trail whooped my ass!! Love those gloves!
I think it means we just need e-bikes!
@@inbermswetrust no lie there!
Love this POV
Thanks!
Man I haven’t been out there in probably 2 years. I’m actually planning to ride it tomorrow. Can’t believe how overgrown the jump line is. Trails look like they are in decent shape though after the storm…
This was at the end of June. I heard they're okay still though. Where are you planning on riding after this? Your like a storm predictor!
@@inbermswetrustit was all good! Had a good time!
I see you just posted this 5 days ago, but this ride must have been a while back, those trails have changed in the last couple months
June 23rd
That's "Loch Ness", not "Lock Ness" ;)
I can change the description, but not the graphic. forever dumbdumb
way to focus on the important things my dude lol
@@nonickname8292 just doing my part!
You have to be in really good shape to get the most of Alafia.. FL trails are tough! I mean, unless you get an E bike. Anyway good stuff! Ill sub from my other account.
I'm saving my pennies!
Nice ride! I was a Croom the other week and the Banana Spiders were out in full force 😅, after the 3rd web with a big spider on it I decided to head out! Only been to Balm once, clearly need to check it out again... the ride in and out kills me though.
Thanks!! I used dread the headwind both ways. Now I look at it like a good warm up and skinny practice in one!
There's a "FTR" option that takes you directly to Ridgeline from the two track entrance. Fast Track Ridgeline
Thanks! This was the week after it closed. So im trying to get more familiar with the park. I've kinda been an Alafia Park rat. I'll give it go when it opens back up.
Just found your video. Thanks for posting it. Alifia is a favorite place. I’ve ridden Lost Meadows once and it maxed out my skills. I’m one of the old roadies now on an eMTB and loving being in the woods. I ride mostly the green trails so your video showed me trails I know are there but I won’t ride personally. Just turned 76 today, planning on riding there in the morning
Happy Bday! I hope you had a great ride! I hope to be joining the eMTB gang soon. It's very difficult keeping up with ya'll!
Florida is alright if you are in REEEEEEELY good physical condition. The Drunken Monkey is a perfect example.
You're right! (I edit many breaks out). Unfortunately, it still doesn't translate to actual mountain riding. I get gassed after 2 mins of slow grade climbing, and 2 mins of steep downhill. Here's me realizing that th-cam.com/video/YLUpz1ZdwAg/w-d-xo.html
@@inbermswetrust You were in foraging country up there! Perfect place for top dollar gourmet fungus. I'd probably be walking up half of those hills especially after low altitude air and minimal elevation changes down here. My issue is I really enjoy velocity, but I have trouble keeping it up in Florida.
I missed some of these trails on my first trip around! Definitely heading back soon soon!
I was riding with a different group this day. I typically don't bookend my rides with jump lines. This day is probably still my favorite ride of the past year.
dude it’s so crazy that we have the exact same setup. nice riding man👍
*i have a b8.5 s4 with my cannondale lefty strapped to the back also lol
Nice! Such a great car, by far the most reliable VW I've owned so far!
I need to get out more
They've upped the flow substantially since I posted this too.
What kind of gloves are those ? 😍🤣
I got too many gloves, if you see me you can have mine. If you cant wait until then... saintsofspeed.com/collections/gloves/products/graffiti
Headed here tomorrow!
Nice! Enjoy! I might get out there for a bit before the night ride at Balm.
@@inbermswetrust I’ve been there a few times. Navigating the trails has been difficult for me there.
Cool to see our little hometown spot getting some hype.
As it should. It's a great trail network. I didn't even see the jump line either! I'm itching to get back
@@inbermswetrust Newest addition.. Small but we're very grateful for it. Thanks! See you out there man
Those damn cement pavers get me a few times a year. Especially now, when rain has washed away the borders and they stand up higher.
Such an easy place to lose focus too
Hey, what's the name of the bike you are using?
Trek Fuel EX5, its got some upgrades though. Solid bike for sure.
@@inbermswetrust Thanks.
Great video!!! Alafaia is awesome, but i am planning to go to loyce and harper this weekend, would you recommend it?
@tiagoweyne6661 Loyce Harpe (Carter Rd) is really good for tight technical trails. Great riding there and very different than Alafia. It's a bit more "natural" and a good mix for all skill levels.
@@ScaldedDawg thanks for the reply!!!
Definitely! All the double exposure gets the adrenaline up for sure!
Balm: Follow the "FTR" (Fast Track to Ridgeline) signs... takes you along the power line all the way back down the 2-track road. Short little section of single track right before the entrance. Great ride!
Thanks, This ride really crept up and beat me down (lots of cussing). Past 3 rides have been at balm to get a better mental map of the park. I really hate carrying my phone.
@inbermswetrust we'll be riding Balm early Saturday and know that place very well, if you want to ride along. The heat/humidity combo has been brutal lately, it'll really zap you fast!
Rode Alafia last weekend, very washed out from the rain.
Thanks for the update. This was filmed a few weeks ago, before the skies opened up. I'm sure ATC is on top of the repairs.
I haven’t ridden that trail in forever! Is it closing soon?
It usually closes when we start to get the daily downpours. I feel like we got an extra couple of weeks this year.
Cool video, except the info on banana spiders. No Florida banana spider's poison will kill children, the spider you described is a Brazilian banana spider, which is one of the most poisonous. I've handled countless banana spiders in Florida, none of which bit me. They are scary looking but super docile.
If I could change the graphic I would, I just copy/pasted from google. Where is Jeeves when you need him eh?
Are you rocking a chin, Mount or a chest mount on your go pro ?
It's a chin mount, with the J hook clip to get the camera a little lower. I couldn't wear a chest mount in this heat, plus it makes hypersmooth work so much harder.
Do you think this trail would be suitable for a beginner? I have years of road cycling, but thought I'd give mtb a try. Nice video btw!
I wouldn't say for a beginner. But you have riding experience, so you should be fine. You might have to wait a few months now though, its closed from all the rain. But the other trails there are great too.
@inbermswetrust I decided to stick to the green trails and leave the more advanced routes for later once I get a bit more experience. Just came off the trail a few hours ago, and I really like how they're all interconnected with plenty of signage so you're aware of your location. This will definitely be one of my more frequented trails. Thanks
1:39 The Jetson's car sound lol!
and I'm over here like "WIIIIILLLLLLLMMMAAAAAAA!"
I wish I was your client!! How do I get on that free rental?
You gotta pay me thousands of dollars first. Lol
Where is secret monkey, I’ve been wanting to ride there and check it out
You gotta use the heatmap on trail forks to see it. You go in about 1/4 mile past the drunken monkey parking area. Hope that helps.
@@inbermswetrust thank you
w vid man! i subbed❤❤
Thank you! 👊🖐🤘
Miles of transit and sugar sand... two things Croom is famous for! 🤣😂 I'm avoiding that place until the rain comes more frequent. Good Ride!
I think the rain gods heard you! I'm doing the night ride at Balm next Friday, you should come out!
@inbermswetrust yeah, man! I'll see how the week goes.
