The idea is that the tiger is a toy, which i thought fit with William Blake's questioning of how the tiger came into being. I didn't really get the timing right so you would probably have to pause it to read all the text. I made this quite a long time ago when i was studying for my Btech in Art and design.

So cool !😜
I'm so upset that this version isn't on Spotify ☹️ I just looked for it and couldn't find it :<
Considering its an audience recording from a cassette tape its an exceptional performance !

2:28 FOR THE "OVER THE RAINBOW" BIT
THANK YOU!
In my "VU covers" playlist with several other versions, including Lou live. Thanks for the upload!
......... Yeah nope
This is so great!! This is definitely in my top 5 David Bowie songs! (Maybe even my Favorite)
Hi Oliver I was lucky and I did all the concert sound for David during his Ziggy Stardust project and my unique recording of that wonderful last concert is available in my music store at robinmayhew.co.uk and forgive me but please take a moment to have a look at this link as I managed to get my old band The Presidents, who were signed to Decca, back together to perform the long lost recording that was found in 2018, and released that June. th-cam.com/video/sjcKGcM0Rtc/w-d-xo.html
Haha 02:30 Hilarious!!! :):):D:D

Cant get into demo sounding songs / Toy version much better !
Musically this song would have fitted on either of Hunky Dory an Ziggy, but lyrically the Shadow Man seems to be another Avatar of Starman ot the Alligator in Moonage Daydream. But which song shuld have been omitted?
This song would get passed over for Moonage Daydream or Starman any day..
Che ballata fantastica. Unico David Jones. Amazing.
日本人いる?
I'm not but I'd love to visit, think you can help me get a ticket to go over there?
much better than the 2001 version
I was there! AWESOME NIGHT! Do you have the rest of this concert? I was in the third row center or so - it blew my mind. Seeing Bowie sing Aladdin Sane on his knees...and then this, and then Moonage Daydream with the old mime moves...please post what you have!
Wasn't shadowman for toy, his unreleased album? Also about toy, slip away was originally called uncle floyd, and in toy, but was eventually made better and put into heathen. This is real weird.
Kinda late on this, but shadowman was an outtake from the Hunky Dory album and later re recorded for his album Toy with other old tunes that didn't get a chance plus new original songs. It later got dropped because of the label. He then used Uncle Floyd and Afraid on his new album Heathen. Hoped this cleared things.
i like both versions. bowie the master story teller.
this is SO GOOOOOD❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
omg this is awsome
He released it again in the album Nothing Has Changed!
This song started off as C'est LA Vie, recorded as a demo in 1967. Apparently there is anothet demo version of this song recorded in April 1970 as well. Then this version was recorded about a year later, and finally a studio recording was made in 2000 or so for Toy, and was put on the B side of one of several versions of the Everybody Says Hi single around 2002. cttcaegoaktd 😛😛😛😛😛😛😛😛😛
Had to come here for the "somewhere over the rainbow" bit -- fantastic! Thanks for posting!
So interesting, a couple of years ago I said to a friend Starman and Somewhere over the rainbow have the same octave leap.....star...MAN. some....WHERE.
Just like that bluebird.....
Rip Starmen in the Sky, David Bowie and Mick Ronson.
Just before this concert, David had been criticised for using the melody of "Somewhere over the rainbow" in the chorus of "Starman". Therefore, he sort of confirmed or commented this "rumour" by actually singing the melody in the chorus at this concert. He often said that he stole things form others but he sure enough transformed them into something new, brilliant and personal. Fantastic that this event was recorded! And I would really liked to have heard David sing the whole "Somewhere over the rainbow"...! Thank you for all your creativity, dear mr Bowie!
absolutely correct but I still cannot hear it. It does not sound like over the rainbow
@@garrold7123"there's a STAR MAN" = "SOME WHERE over the rainbow", it is the use of an interval of an octave (musical term meaning the distance between these two notes) going from the low note to the high note.
A young lady named Tamar just pointed out to me that he sings Over the Rainbow at 2:30, which is a song that speaks of the Bluebird. And as we know, in his last lyrics of Blackstar he refers to himself as that bluebird. Not likely a coincidence, as the word Blackstar is also a song by Elvis, who he loved - the Blackstar in Elvis's song is the spectre of death.
could also be a Ziggy Stardust outtake as he had already written "Star," "Lady Statdust," "Moonage Daydream," and 'Hang On To Yourself" for Ziggy Stardust. He was basically, shifting between the two albums "Hunky Dory" which he was in the process of recording, and putting together other tracks for the Ziggy album. In the end, this never made it onto either. See "Round and Round," Amsterdam," "Velvet Goldmine." So it could well be called a Ziggy outtake.
David and Mick, together again at last. RIP, sweet David.
+67goldtops Trevor Bolder is with both of them also :-(
aah sucks what happen a lapse in creativity that you resorted to some elses material?
I really hope you've grown up in the two years since you posted that drivel.
Great performance of the song! Great version! :D And I LOVE the new lyrics! :D
sicuramente meglio di come lou la ripropone negli ultimi anni o nella versione con i metallica...
Where's the rest! Agh!
Bravo! Good for you, brother!
Yes, you're right... It's far from the original. But I don't think covering a song means producing a very simular version of it. MM's version changes the meaning of the song.
I know his interpretation. And I do also like it. But it's set in a totally different context and meaning. Why do you think he butchered it?
TU POLSKA PRZEJMUJEMY TEN FILM XD
WOW
I was there. Roxy Music supported.
What was it like?
I'm jealous 😭 I wasn't alive when David Bowie was playing The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars (i've only been listening to him for a year ☹️)
well i like it :3 harmony's a bit off, but it's live so fair play to them <3
I'm a big fan of hers.. but not really a fan of this cover.
I'm as big a Bowie fan as I;m sure you all are but there is nothing wrong with saying some of our idol"s work isn't their best. This song isn't even close to being one of his best and there is a reason it didn't make the cut. I just ain't that good. lol! Peace!
A gentle version but good! Please check out our version of the same song done acapella with a bit of silly thrown in! I hope you will like it!
gladt to own the single. hail to kate. she has a heart for records.
Where ever did you find this???!!!
would love to hear her sing the next part it would suit her
i like this version best more emotion
Oliver Stardust it is my favourite too, because it is so pure
Sounds more like a young Americans outtake than 1971
I would say it sounds more like a Space Oddity outtake... Very spacey, dreamy... Possibly MWSTW... Not as mature writing as HD or ZS, either lyrically or musically. Bowie generally left off the right songs when he made the final cut.
Its not ''My Movie''
