Tribute to a Florida Cowboy
มุมมอง 20210 ปีที่แล้ว
[Watch in 1080 HD] Many, many thanks go out to Rick Davis, a real Florida cowboy and natural horsemanship trainer, who has shared his love and respect for horses with me over the past 4 years. Without him, I would not be having such fun riding and wouldn't have Shotgun. Mr. Rick has trained and rode with the best: Ray Hunt, Tom Dorrance and Tom Curtin. I found that a pair of 16x50 binoculars are ideal for general night sky viewing. They are relatively light easy to hold, give a good amount of light input and good sharp magnification of celestial objects. Looking at the milky way through them is absolutely breathtaking, you can see many many stars as long as there is very little light pollution. The Pleiades star system looks just amazing, and the Orion Nebula looks so beautiful. I have also seen the faint glow of the Adromeda galaxy through them, and 5 moons of Jupiter, so they do work extremely well. What really struck me about the milky way though, was that I was looking into the edge of our huge spiral galaxy, and the amount of stars you can see are quite staggering.

    I love this. Would it be ok to show this to students in a presentation i do for schools? I talk to 3rd,4rth,and 5th graders about the Floridan Aquifer and talk about it's importantance,what springs are, and how pollution gets into them. This would be an amazing companion to A Waters Journey.

    • @wes326
      @wes326 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Given a choice, alligators want warmer water. So the closer you are to the spring, the less chance of gators. You could go in the winter when the gators are in their holes and the manatees are in the springs.

    The Navy has ruined the beautiful Bugg Springs behind our property. When we first moved here 25 years ago it was clear and beautuful...not any longer. They put a chaon link fence across the head od the spring so it does not flow freely because vegetation has blocked it.

    This is an amazing video. I have been swimming in many of the springs named in this video that are in Central Florida from Blue Spring in Orange City, Florida, to Juniper and Silver Glenn in the Ocala National Forest since I was a young child. Yesterday, I swam for hours at Wekiva Springs State Park in Longwood/Apopka Florida (not featured). This video captures expertly the glorious beauty of the springs it was filmed in. Thank you for giving the world such an amazing view of the wonder that is the the Floridian Aquifer System and its springs. I'll take a swim in spring over a pool any day!

    The Florida aquifers are one of the most beautiful and important resources that the state has. We needto take care of them. I'm from Maine and I have visited these places a few times and I am blessed every time I go. I am very careful not to upset the environment, and just enjoy the beautiful fish and scenery. Thank you Florida for allowing me this pleasure in the middle of my hard cold winters.
