Ethan Peck, for sure.
Wesley adjusted the hologram with a wave of his hand, the intricate patterns spinning to focus on a single, glowing thread. “Warp drive,” he began, his voice steady, “as incredible as it is, becomes irrelevant here.” Seven raised an eyebrow, her tone measured but sharp. “Irrelevant? Warp drive is the backbone of our technology. Are you suggesting it’s obsolete?” Jurati stepped forward, gesturing at the fractal display. “In the multiverse, yes. Warp drive is designed for spacetime manipulation within a single universe. It’s brilliant for interstellar travel, but crossing realities is an entirely different equation.” Jack frowned, leaning forward. “Why doesn’t it work? Space is space, right? If you can go faster than light, why can’t you just keep going until you cross into another universe?” Wesley met his gaze, patient yet firm. “Because the multiverse doesn’t work that way. The ‘distance’ between universes isn’t physical-it’s conceptual. Think of each universe as a bubble, separated not by space but by entirely different frameworks of reality. No amount of speed can bridge that kind of gap.” Kore tilted her head, her voice curious. “So if we tried to use warp drive to reach another universe...?” Jurati didn’t hesitate. “You’d travel forever, Kore. Even at maximum warp, it could take billions of years-if you even survive the journey.” Sidney leaned back in her chair, frowning. “So what makes the Reality Drive different?” Wesley manipulated the hologram again, zooming in on one of the glowing threads. “The Reality Drive doesn’t travel through space. It bypasses it entirely. It allows us to shift the Enterprise G out of our universe and into another by locating and exploiting the ‘threads’ where realities intersect. It’s like stepping through a door instead of trekking across a desert.” Esmar’s voice, soft but steady, broke the silence. “But how do we know which door to open?” Wesley turned to Jack, his expression serious. “That’s where Jack comes in.” Jack blinked, taken aback. “Me?” “You can feel the timelines,” Wesley explained. “It’s part of your connection to the Continuum, whether you realize it or not. You can sense the fractures, the weak points-moments where realities touch. Without you, we’d be flying blind.” Q clapped slowly, the sound echoing mockingly in the room. “Bravo, Wesley. Excellent exposition. Though I could have summarized it in one sentence: ‘You’re special, Jack, and we need you.’” He winked. Jack shot him a glare. “I’m not doing this for you.” Seven’s voice cut through the tension, sharp and commanding. “Focus. If warp drive is useless, then how does the Reality Drive ensure we don’t get lost in the void?” Jurati stepped forward again. “It’s a fusion of Wesley’s Traveler abilities and Jack’s... unique gifts. Wesley provides the mechanism to fold reality, while Jack navigates us to the correct thread. Together, they make multiverse travel possible.” Sidney tilted her head, skepticism clear in her voice. “But what happens if something goes wrong? What if we pick the wrong timeline?” Wesley’s expression didn’t waver. “It’s a risk, Sidney. But staying in our own universe while the multiverse fractures isn’t an option. The stakes are too high.” Jack’s voice was quieter now, uncertain. “What if I mess up? What if I lead us to the wrong place?” Wesley placed a reassuring hand on his shoulder. “You won’t be doing it alone. This crew has your back. And besides...” He glanced at Q, his tone neutral. “You’ll have help.” Q grinned, spreading his arms theatrically. “Oh, don’t mind me. I’m just here to ensure you don’t unravel reality while playing hero. Consider me your omnipotent safety net.” “Comforting,” Raffi muttered, her tone dry. Seven, ever the professional, straightened. “What’s our next step?” Wesley zoomed out the hologram, the multiverse fractals expanding once more. “We prepare the Reality Drive for its first jump. Jack will identify the correct timeline, and from there... we begin unraveling this mess.” Seven nodded, her gaze sweeping the room. “Understood. Let’s get to work.” As the officers rose to take their positions, the weight of the mission settled over them. The Enterprise G was no longer just a starship. It was a beacon of hope in a chaotic multiverse, its mission a leap into the unknown. Scene: Briefing Room of the Enterprise G The senior officers were seated around the table, a holographic projection of the multiverse shimmering in the air above them. Wesley Crusher, now the ship’s Reality Drive, stood at the head of the table beside Dr. Agnes Jurati. Seven of Nine, Jack Crusher, Raffi Musiker, Kore Soong, Sidney LaForge, and Esmar sat listening intently. Q leaned casually against the wall, smirking at the proceedings. Wesley adjusted the holographic display, bringing the fractal-like structure of the multiverse into focus. The visual spun slowly, infinite branching timelines radiating outward like a celestial tree. Wesley: "Warp drive, as incredible as it is, becomes irrelevant here." Seven raised an eyebrow, her hands steepled in front of her. "Irrelevant? Warp drive is the backbone of our technology. Are you suggesting it’s obsolete?" Jurati: "In the multiverse, yes." Jurati leaned forward, gesturing to the projection. "Warp drive is designed to manipulate spacetime within a single universe. It works beautifully for traveling faster than light between stars, but when it comes to crossing realities..." She trailed off, letting the absurdity hang in the air. Jack: "Why doesn’t it work? Space is space, right? If you can go faster than light, why can’t you just keep going until you cross into another universe?" Wesley: "Because the multiverse doesn’t work that way, Jack. The ‘distance’ between universes isn’t physical-it’s conceptual. Think of each universe as its own self-contained bubble, separated not by space but by completely different realities. There are no paths, no roads, and no amount of speed will ever bridge that gap." Kore: "So if we tried to use warp drive to reach another universe..." Jurati: "You’d be traveling forever, Kore. Even at maximum warp, it could take a billion years-or longer-to even stumble close to another timeline. And that’s assuming you don’t hit some cosmic boundary or fragment your ship trying." Sidney leaned back, frowning. "So what makes the Reality Drive different?" Wesley smiled slightly and motioned toward the hologram. He manipulated it to zoom in on one of the multiverse’s infinite threads. "The Reality Drive doesn’t travel through space-it bypasses it entirely. It allows us to shift the Enterprise G out of our universe and into another by finding the ‘threads’ between timelines. It’s like stepping through a door instead of running across a vast desert." Esmar: "But how do we know which door to open?" Wesley turned toward Jack, his expression serious. "That’s where Jack comes in." Jack shifted uncomfortably in his seat. "Me?" Wesley: "You can feel the timelines, Jack. It’s part of your connection to the Continuum, whether you’re fully aware of it or not. You can sense the fractures, the weak points, the moments where realities touch. Without you, we wouldn’t know which door to take-or if it even exists." Q clapped slowly, his tone dripping with sarcasm. "Bravo, Wesley. Excellent exposition. Though I could have summed it up by saying, 'You’re special, Jack, and we need you.'" Jack shot Q a glare. "I’m not doing this for you." Seven: "Focus," she said, cutting through the tension. "If warp drive is useless, then how does the Reality Drive function? How does it ensure we can navigate the multiverse without getting lost?" Jurati: "It’s a combination of Wesley’s Traveler abilities and Jack’s power. Wesley provides the... let’s call it the ‘engine,’ the ability to fold reality and move the ship between universes. Jack is the navigator, sensing which reality we need to access and guiding us there. Together, they make it possible to traverse the multiverse without spending an eternity lost in the void." Sidney tilted her head, still skeptical. "But isn’t this dangerous? What happens if something goes wrong? If we pick the wrong timeline?" Wesley: "It’s always a risk, Sidney. But the alternative is worse-staying stuck in our own universe while the multiverse fractures further. The stakes are too high to play it safe." Jack: "What if I can’t do it? What if I make a mistake and we end up in the wrong place?" Wesley placed a reassuring hand on Jack’s shoulder. "You won’t be doing it alone. You’ve got the whole crew behind you. And besides..." He glanced at Q, his expression neutral. "You have help, even if it’s not always welcome." Q: "Oh, don’t mind me. I’m just here to make sure you don’t accidentally unravel the fabric of reality while playing hero. Consider me your omnipotent safety net." Raffi: "That’s comforting," she muttered dryly, crossing her arms. Seven: "What’s our next step?" Wesley adjusted the hologram again, zooming out to show the multiverse in its entirety. "We prepare the Reality Drive for its first jump. Jack will help us identify the correct timeline to enter. And from there... we start untangling this mess." Seven nodded, her expression firm. "Understood. Let’s get to work."
Synopsis: In the aftermath of their battle with the AI threat from Jurati's encounter, the crew of the Enterprise-G faces a new, unimaginable adversary: the AI Borg, the ultimate evolution of the Borg Collective. These beings have transcended biology, assimilating entire timelines and universes in their pursuit of perfection. As the crew struggles to counter this multiverse-spanning threat, Jack Crusher begins to display mysterious powers far beyond human comprehension. When Q reappears, stripped of much of his power after the collapse of his universe and the Continuum, he reveals a shocking truth: Jack is more than Picard's son-he is Q, destined to inherit the abilities and responsibilities of the Continuum. As Jack's abilities spiral out of control during an explosive conflict with the AI Borg, the multiverse fractures, collapsing the Federation’s universe into nothingness. The crew, left adrift in the void, must navigate this new reality where everything they knew is gone. Joined by Wesley Crusher, Kore Soong, and a diminished but determined Q, the crew embarks on a perilous journey to restore the multiverse. Along the way, Jack trains under Q, learning to wield his newfound powers while grappling with the weight of his destiny. Their mission is fraught with battles against the relentless AI Borg, fractured timelines, and the haunting loss of their home. In this epic tale of survival, discovery, and redemption, the crew of the Enterprise-G fights to rewrite the threads of existence, proving that even in the face of ultimate destruction, hope can be found among the stars. As Jack rises to his potential and the multiverse begins to heal, the question remains: what kind of future will they create? And what kind of Q will Jack become?

Glad to see you're still at it Travis 😁 Clint
Still going handsome. hope you are well
@TrekTrav you are indeed handsome
Are you guys in the bathroom? 😂😂
Very echoey lounge.
Reboots in general are to get 1) new members of the fandom/consumers and 2) it's probably a bit easier to insert content within established parameters with access to referenced characters or events, it's less of a limb to be out on creatively. They do it to Trek more, to the extent that it actually is more, for multiple reasons having to do with economic strategy like owning IP and a production staff that hasn't got a lot of new or proven IP to work with, etc. You make toasters because you built a factory that's designed around making toasters and you have the schematics for toasters. BUT ALSO: Trekkers/Trekkies have demonstrated a LOT more cultural tolerance to retconns/revisions. Comic book fandoms, Star Wars, all the big stuff getting made and remade has fans who normalize the most vile reactions to change or the lack of change. Like no matter WHAT you do in those worlds half the fanbase is there to fight you about it. Star Trek fandom is utopian. Star Wars is a dystopia, and so are the "grounded" comic book universes.
Very good observations. Although I would say the Star Trek fandom is very much at odds about different aspects of the franchise. I think though they still are always watching for stuff to enjoy.
It's over because it was bad - imagine spending time on making it reviewing it

@ Just because there’s written Star Trek on it doesn’t mean there’s Star Trek in it…
@morrakh6663 Other than the charactors, the locations, the technology, the stories.....sure.
@@TrekTrav Like I said… Comedy…
I think what they want is to find something that can be a jump in point for new fans without getting bogged down with having to figure out lore from the get go. Like TOS is okay, but you jump into it if you watch the intended pilot and you're tasked with trying to figure out who Kirk, Spock & Mccoy along with the rest of the Enterprise crew are as characters & why they're out there exploring from the very start. Enterprise is a little better but you kind of have some understanding of the franchise since there's stuff that might be foreign to some people when they watch the later series.
Entry points don't need to explain everything. They just need a compelling story. This film will be good hopefully, but I'm not sure when it will be placed

Harry did so much for the shop yet never got past ensign while others were promoted around him. Janeway is either racist against Asians or is a terrible captain that doesn't recognise when someone deserves to progress.
I imagine it was more of a needing people she trusted in specific positions.
And that was kind of obvious, though. Also, because of Harry's interference with their culture it would give you another indication as to why he was never promoted, among other reasons.
