This version of Pop Cult Café was recorded in 1984-1985 at Lansing Sound. This is the Microtones' only recorded song that has seven band members playing on it. It was recorded just as their new member, Charlie Parker, was joining the band. At this time the Microtones consisted of Don Julin, Doug Perry, Matt Gregg, Wes Ivankovich, Stan Williams, Stephan Nesvacil and Charlie Parker.
