පෙට්ටිගල සහ බඹරගල රජ මහා විහාරය මහනුවර නගරයේ සිට කිලෝමීටර් 21 ක් දුරින් පිහිටා ඇත. බඹරගල විහාරය කඳු පාමුල පිහිටා ඇති අතර මුදුනේ ඇති විශාල ගල "පෙට්ටිගල" ලෙස හැඳින්වේ. මෙම ස්ථානයට පැමිණීමට පෙර ඔබ මුලින්ම දිගන නගරයට පැමිණිය යුතුය. මහනුවර සිට දිගන දක්වා දුර කිලෝමීටර් 17 ක් පමණ වේ.
මහනුවර සිට දිගන නගරයට බොහෝ පොදු ප්‍රවාහන බස් රථ තිබේ.දිගනට යන්න විනාඩි 40ක් යනවා.දිගන නගරයට පැමිණ එතැන් සිට Victoria Golf Club පාරේ කිලෝ මීටර 4ක් ගමන් කරන විහාරයට යන මාර්ගය වම් පසින් හමුවේ. එතැන් සිට කිලෝ මීටරයක දුරක් ගමන් කල විට බඹරගල රජමහා විහාරය හමුවේ.දිගන සිට දිගන-සෙනරත්වෙල බස්රථයෙන් බඹරගල රජ මහා විහාරයට හැරෙන මාර්ගය තෙක් පැමිණිය හැක.මහනුවර සිට මහනුවර-නිතුලේමඩ බස්රථයෙන්ද බඹරගල රජ මහා විහාරයට හැරෙන මාර්ගය තෙක් පැමිණිය හැක.ඉහත කී බස්රථ දෙකම සීමිත වාරගණනක් ධාවනය වේ.

Pettigala and Bambaragala Raja Maha Viharaya are located 21 kilometers from Kandy city. Bambaragala Viharaya is situated at the foot of the mountain and the large rock at the top is called "Pettigala". Before reaching this place, you must first visit Digana town. There are many public transport buses from Kandy to Digana town. It takes 40 minutes to reach Digana. When you reach Digana town, you will find the road to the temple on the left, which is 4 kilometres along the Victoria Golf Club Road. From there, after travelling a kilometre, you will come across the Bambaragala Raja Maha Viharaya. From Digana, you can take the Digana-Senaratwela bus and get off at the Bambaragala Raja Maha Viharaya road. You can also take the Kandy-Nithulemada bus and get off at the Bambaragala Raja Maha Viharaya road. Both the above buses operate a limited number of times.
The hike starts from the old Bambaragala temple. First, you will enter a forest area. There is a rocky footpath. The last part of the forest road to Pettigala is quite difficult. The reason for this is the steep nature of the road. However, when we reached the top of the mountain, we could see a very beautiful view.
