PHISH BIG CYPRESS CAMPGROUND AND NYE CELEBRATION 1999
I saw my tent row 😂
from Gerry- Love watching these guys!
I just had gotten outta jail for possession of weed and extacy
I was at Big Cypress it was so much fun and the best way to bring in 2000 love the footage bring back so many memories God I feel old but so glad I was there I still have my little map they gave you and my ticket and my little wristband ✌️
Very grateful for this offering bless your life
8:58 I see my campsite!! Thanks Matt!
Happy Fest! Glad we got to get back home 🪕
Nice recap! ❤
Well done!
We;; dpne, Matthew.
Take me back 😭😭😭 thank you for documenting this!
Genius Matt!!! Really captures the magic of the PFF weekend!
Next Week
I lived 15 miles from Deer Creek in the 90s. What a pleasure that place was, before it was expanded and the area around turned into what you'd expect.
Strip mall hell now
Boy boobs!
5:00 mark: me in a red shirt jamming at the drum circle I started with only two other guys. We played for hours… couldn’t make a fist for days. 😂
Great version of You May Be Right !! This is the year i had my high school band also!
The mid 90's were the absolute best
You can’t see the bass player/main vocalist and the guitar player is blocked by the bassist but the music is actually well done and the sound is pretty good too.
Good stuff. Get some tragically hip in there to. All Good song choices though either way.
Niceee so many good memories. And awesome bowie tune. ! Niceee
Good stuff !!!
what happened to the time capsule?
We all started somewhere.... Work on the abs, the hair is perfect!
This video is 33 yrs old!😅
I have no idea why this was recommended to me.
We played the last in a cover band I was in
Why?
I had a strong feeling they were going to play a Beatle song!
I gotta say somebody from this band still plays :-)
this has made me so unbelievably angry
Are you that kid from 91?
This should be in front of 1k people... So damn good
Those cypress trees were nuts while tripping balls
I was 19 and this was a trip of a lifetime. The show, the setup, and those GIANT balls flowing from the front of the stage to the back. So great
My favorite memory of this whole experience was standing peacefully at the orange barricade listening to the sound check. No one wanting to be unruly, everyone who was there just standing there peacefully enjoying the music.
This seems so familiar, I think I was there.
I'll never forget that night. I got some sloppy top in the back of my van from some spinner chick from colorado. She was greedy as all hell
No cell phones!
9a, 6a before phones we used the force
I was a day shy of turning 2 when this happened. My mother said she made sure I was awake when the clock rolled over to 2000. Being in Arizona, we left 1999 around the time they were playing Sand. I can only imagine how intense that night was. Glad I can sit here and listen to it whenever I want here in 2024.
Was there too... drove from Washington State. I saw phish probably 2 dozen times - this was my last show. Life changed and I figured this couldn't be beat. Maybe I'll see them again, not sure...
Drums disappeared.. was it the cell phones or the N2o? or both?
Not a phone in sight...
Oh shit..... I forgot about the drum circle in the woods.... What a good time..... CHEESECAKE!!!>>>>>Thanx!
The greatest Phish show ever.!!
No smart phones it was beautiful!
SLAVVVVVVVEEEEE TO THE TRAFFIC JAM
the end of a golden age no better place to cash in your chips
This is great stuff, Matt! I'm impressed! Such a unique arrangement which truly carries forth the tonalities and the spiritual essence of the song.
I grew up 10 mins from where the GW took place. The year prior to that some promoter tried to have a show called Spudstock with these old performers like Eddie Money that was a total flop. Like 2000 people showed up. So everyone thought the GW would be the same. They were all cynical. Of course those of us that were Phish fans and had been to a bunch of shows knew better and just kept saying, “You wait. This is no Spudstock”. The locals were blown away by the number of people that showed. So the next year at the Lemonwheel all the older people went. I ran into my girlfriend’s parents and was like, “Ok this is getting surreal”.
