I was shown this at a film camp at Del Val college (where they filmed the movie signs) and that scene of the kids eyes missing scared the living shit outta me.
This short makes Coraline look like a fun family friendly movie 😅 if I had seen this as a kid I would have been scarred for life ! Would love to have seen this made into a full feature length film
This short looks like Tim Burton animation.
Like so many others who have commented on here, I had to have to watch this short in Year 8 English, we had to write a review on it in my case, and whilst writing the reviews, we got screenshot handed to us and one of those did include the kid with no eyeballs. Couldn’t sleep that night after I saw it. It’s beautifully animated and telling the story without any dialogue is impressive, but my god, this was disturbing and creepy. The after credits ending especially, when you realise this is a regular occurrence in whatever city or town this is set in, or even around the world. I dread to think how the poor mother reacted the next morning once she saw her child. Also Cosgrove Hall helped on this short, the same animation company as Danger Mouse, Count Duckula, Jamie and the Magic Torch etc. Quite surprising, as this has to be one of the darkest projects they worked on, other than the animated version of The BFG.
7:57 HE’S OFF TO NEVA NEVA LAAAAANNNNDDDD!!!!
I like the way how they title the Name Sandman kinda a Michael Jackson inspired like how they did it with Thriller
I had a dream as a young boy, 5-6 yrs old where I was walking down a long road with my mum and brother, only to turn around and see that they had both disappeared, I then turn to the wall nearby to see the Sandman's face on all the leaf's of the plant growing on the wall. I had never seen this animation before but the face stuck with me. Had this same nightmare 4-5 times over the space of a few months. Fast forward to me being 15 years old in art class and my art teacher plays this animation for some reason, the chills I felt on that day were unreal. No one believed me... This is a true story.
why did i watch this a kid? was scary as hell
I was watching TH-cam at 3:00 on my bed, with all the lights off. This got recommended, and I watched it. I loved it but I regret watching it at the same time…
Is there anyone who didn't see this with the English teacher?
I am

Does anyone else think the sandmans baby's are cute??? 😅
It reminds me of Henry Slick.
I swear I was shown this in school, idk why we were but I definitely remember this, reminds me of Tim burtons art style, what a terrifying story, imagine telling your child the original story of the sandman before bed
TMA reminded me of this masterpiece 🙏
MTV was peak animation for Halloween
My teacher show me this in elementary
Hello young man may I have your eyes.
Why bother going to sleep if this monster is just going to wake you up anyway.
“This is terrifying! I can’t wait to show my students this!”- Most English Teachers Apparently

My english teacher put this on in class back in middle school about 12 years ago and it scared the shit out of me, it still does tbh. 🤣

This animation looks abit like Tim Burton
The fantasy vas real 😭😭😭 and nightmare real
That was a Terrible Ending! 😢
This came out not long before I was born. I'm REALLY glad I didn't see it as a kid; it probably would have scared me too much to ever fall asleep with my face out in the open. Even now, as an adult, it's gravely unsettling. Though this might explain why so many people go to bed with masks over their eyes...
The music for the bird man is frightening but cool
Wow, never seen. Pre Tim Burton!.. I'm scared..💪😉
