Sharing my journey as a working first time biological mom and stepmom of 2. I started off trying to grow on Tiktok enough to quit my 9-5 but now with the potential for it being banned I am moving to TH-cam and trying to grow here. I will be sharing what works and any tips and tricks.

If possible, build up your hours slowly. Unless your baby already sleeps through nights, this is going to be tough. Building up hours softens the blow. Set goals for your working day that are realistic, dont be discouraged if you dont make them. Just try again tomorrow. If you are 80% as productive as you were before the baby, you are doing amazing. DO NOT get a tablet. Even though it's the easiest shortcut you can take, there are long lasting neurological effects for your child if they get screentime before the age of 2. Studies have shown that these children have a drastically higher chance of developing neurodevelopment issues. Brightly colored toys are a great way to keep baby's entertained for longer periods. A mixed up rubics cube is a way better toy than all those pastel colored knitted stuffed animals. Get rainbow my little ponies and stuff like that, the more bright the colors the better. Sound stimulation is also a great way to keep a baby busy. Complex pieces are especially effective in stimulating the brain. Touch is also a great way to keep them busy. And not only yours. Putting a hand in their crib whilst reading is a great way to keep the contact up and goes a long way. But I got this stuffed animal with different types of (baby safe) fabrics. A baby can be entertained for hours because they explore the different textures with their mouth. I hope this helps.
Oh and congratulations on your kiddo! You are already doing the hardest job there is, being a mom. It can only get easier from here.
@@Dankonen thank you so much!! This advice is all amazing! I found out today I can do half days for the first week so that will help and I’ve set up little stations for him with his bright colored stuff.
@RobinLynWight the half days are a relief, and it's better for the company tbh. You can be more productive, and the baby is happier. I don't know why more companies don't do this basic, logical thing🤦♂️. Instead, they expect new mothers to work 110% and be ready at odd hours. I mean, seriously? Are you seriously testing the love of a mother for her baby against her loyalty to the company? Let's see how that turns out 😂...
@ right? It’s such a hard thing to balance and we’ll always pick our babies 💜
Do you have insurance?
@@MrWildplum yep. They said that was after insurance
Asking for more money a year and a half later is just absurd. Does it state what the additional amount is specifically for (for example, they hadn't included the anesthesiologist fees because they're billed separately sometimes)?
No they said I owed $300 but they only collected $212
i dont get why mothers need to work after the baby isnt even a year old. its not natural. i'd quit my job honestly.
@CassPup-bs4qj it’s really not but we need the money
Why not stay home with baby and let your husband go to work?
@@B_High_Man we need both incomes
@ I get it. I hope you can challenge this belief one day. What type of work does your partner do?
So some people have babies that sleep for 5 hours right off the bat. And some people have babies that are up every 2 hours around the clock for 8 months. My babies were the second one. It's literally a survive at all cost just like you said scenario. There is no time for anything at all. If I could suggest anything to a mother of a newborn it would be to have an amazing support system around you where you can ask for help a mother-in-law a mom a sister maybe the dad whoever that's willing to take a feeding or let you take a nap or whatever.
That's what you get for thotten 😂
@@fordman573 if only that were the case
I miss my newborns, they stay where you put them. They are so easy compared to all the other stages....
New born stage is the easiest.
@@jeans398 not for everyone. I’m much better with 1 and up
@RobinLynWight I found 8 months to 1.8month the absolute hardest.
Good job mama! - from another breastfeeding/pumping mama
Pump AFTER he has eaten from your breast :) from my lactation consultant. This way you let baby eat as much as they want. You want to make sure your breast is as empty as possible. And in the next feed do the same thing. The more you empty the breast, the more you encourage milk production: supply and demand. AND baby will get lots of fatty hind milk :)
@@rebeccag4682 it’s so hard to know if they’re getting enough this way though lol
How old is your baby? I’m four months in and that was my main concern too. lol I learned that it’s always gonna be a “idk how much baby ate” after breastfeeding. Just keep offering the breast frequently. But don’t worry. If baby is giving you 8-12 wet diapers in 24hrs and at least 1 poop every ten days, you’re good! lol If that’s too much anxiety for you, then you can exclusively get pump that way you can track oz. Do what works for you and baby. ❤️ and always consult with your pediatrician!
@ he’s 3 months old, but only just started latching. I’ll continue to monitor weight he is peeing and pooping plenty lol
Mine started latching without nipple shield at three months. Had to supplement with bottle because I knew he wasn’t emptying me out. What a JOURNEY! I just offer the boob a lot. Congrats on your baby latching! I still feed and pump and feed and pump bottle if I feel they didn’t eat enough. As baby gets bigger, they’ll suckle with more strength! If you’re concerned about weight go ahead and make an appointment with doctor for a quick weight check
@ that’s amazing! It’s so nice when our persistence finally pays off. And I love being able to nurse at night instead of pumping 😅
😂 I eat out maybe a few times a year max n cook my own food

@RobinLynWight I had to many typing errors
@RobinLynWight I was just trying to say it's unusual that baby would have tummy aches with breast milk usually opposite formula does that to baby of course if mom ate something gassy then baby could get tummy ache that's all thank you sorry I messed that first one up terribly
@ lol no worries, he was diagnosed with milk protein allergy. So we switched to hypoallergenic formula which helped. And I cut out most dairy. I’m wondering if he’s really sensitive to it and I’m still getting it somewhere
Literally just scrolling and came across this one so sorry if you are already doing this. My daughter was lactose intolerant. Lactose can piggyback on your milk proteins and make baby's tummy upset. I cut all dairy from my diet, and she was a happy sleepy baby within three days.
@@Lisa-nv6lx I’ve cut out all dairy but the occasional cheese. But I didn’t realize he needed vitamin d so I’m wondering if that’s it
I have this really tasty veggie dish i'd like to share: Eggplant Casserole Recipe serves 2-3 people Ingredients: 2 large Egglpant 250g Mozarella (in Germany thats 2 balls of moz) 200g Parmesan (freshly grated is best) 800g Crushed tomatoes (2 cans) 1 small Onion 2-3 cloves of garlic Olive Oil Herbs and Spices to taste (i like salt, pepper, a pinch of sugar, dried oregano, dried basil and whatever other herbs i have😅 also the olive oil gives a nice taste) How to prepare: Wash the eggplants and peel the skin with a veggie peeler. Cut the tops and then slice the eggplant longways into 1cm thick slices. Heat a pan (non Stick works best) with some olive oil and brown the eggplant slices on both sides (helps to soften and relaese some water) . Preheat the oven to 200°C (390°f). Let the eggplant slices cool on some papertowels. Peel the onion and cut in half from top to root. Slice the onion into rings , mince the garlic and cut the mozarella into slices. In the same pan on medium high heat, heat some more olive oil and put in the onions, when they become fragrant put in half the garlic. Let the garlic brown a little then pour in the tomatoes and let it cook for five minutes, stir ocationally. After that you put the rest of the garlic and spices to your taste and let it cook on low heat for 5-10 minutes to let some water evaporate. Turn the pan off and put it on a coaster to cool. Prepare an oven save dish (30x30cm, or whatever holds all the ingredients tbh) Lightly grease the dish with olive oil and put enough tomatosauce to thinly cover the bottom. Now start the first layer of egglplants. It's best to lay them side by side not overlapping. On that put more tomatosauce, sprinkle on some parmesan and pull apart the mozarella slices into smaller pieces and spread it out. Save some extra mozarella and parmesan for the top. Then repeat with eggplant, sauce, parm and moz until ingredients run out. Top with the saved mozarella and parmesan. Put it into the oven for 15 minutes, don't forget to check on it once in a while. It's done when the cheese has browned and the sauce is bubbling on the edges of the dish. 🤣CAREFUL IT SMELLS DELICIOUS BUT IT'S NOT WORTH BURNING YOUR MOUTH ON IT🤣so please let it cool off a little. Serve on it's own or as a sidedish. Either way i love it. Best regards, Celine from thuringia (yes this is my dads account)

@RobinLynWight yes just wish I had someone to share it with
Step mothers got a bad wrap because historically the killed off a lot of kids on purpose to have full access to the man’s resources. This is why you find in the past a man was most likely going to remarry his wife’s sister or cousin if the wife died in child care, they were less likely to kill the kids.
@@ericbrown1132 that’s terrible
Becatse fearing what you don’t know is exactly what you’re programmed to do and what happens? People attack what they don’t know then kill and dissect it. If you’re making your child anxious or they’re firming unhealthy attachments to computer programs then you should make sure they understand nature and connecting with it in a healthy respectful way. Also with other children prior to any computer initiation in their lives.
Btw good thing you did!

@@dcandjames that will be nice this summer
you interact so they don't become a robot, and only can receive. get them to output, or they'll forever just be input, and never develop creativity.
What output should I be looking for from a newborn?
Hold him, do your thing and be with him, sing, read outlook, snuggle, get out in nature, be still together
He wants to sit up and do something it seems. Even when I hold him and talk to him he cries and seems to want something else
