I have a 1650 super and a Ryzen 5 1600 my gpu usage was always around 45 percent guess the cpu is the problem.
You forgot about modders 'writting' dialogue.
We don't tell people to skimp on cpu. We understand bottlenecks. It depends on your budget and your wants but we would never say to purposefully skimp on cpu
Is there a way to turn lorerim back into vanilla, visual and atmospheric wise?
Im running on a 3060 and it runs fine for me even with enb 🤷♂️
I'm planning to install ngvo but i'm curious. its possible to install the mods on MO2 ? cuz i wanna add some mods for armours and followers
What do the two percentages under the CPU represent? Also, I'm very confused at 8:31. You say that the GPU is waiting on the CPU, but the overall CPU usage is at 47%. Is the main thread on which Skyrim is running hammered at 100% although it is not shown? Or is there another component bottlenecking the CPU and GPU?
For anyone wondering, Nordic Souls is a Wabbajack install of 1300+ mods, that changes everything from combat to quests, while maintaining a vanilla experience. Means most everything is either vanilla enhanced, or brand new very high quality content intended to fit with the original theme and feel of skyrim. Alot of modlists are very different from base game skyrim, but this one really nails what skyrim would be like if it got a 2024 remake. Also this is a terrible comparison video. Nordic Souls is actually drop dead gorgeous for what its system specs demand, far and away better than what vanilla could ever run on Ultra. I dunno if you lost alot in compression, or if your FPS drops are impacting the recording, but trust me guys, Nordic Souls is absolutely stunning.
Do you know if its possible to play this modpack with a controller? Especially because of the combat mods?! Thanks! :)
I have my own modlist but I like how Apostasy looks, and it seems to use less mods at that too. Quality over quantity. Btw having your FPS on screen would have made this comparison 10x more useful.
Probably my fav Home, may i ask what enb are you using?? Ty
Can you do a video on the winds of the north modlist? It has a vanilla plus aesthetic and is very performance friendly.
please do living skyrim 4 with halls of sovngarde
80% of the video the vanilla side looks better. The color grading and vegetation makes way more sense. Snowy areas look a bit nicer in the mod, but otherwise its too vibrant for the theme.
Definitely Og Skyrim was made by artists And modded versions at best are just better pixel density but composition makes no sense There are some mods that are better than the others ofc
@@kahowka yes because the chosen modlist is not that good, I see tons of that will blow vanilla out of the water but it doesn't mean vanilla suck, its just too dated
true
right on. i find the best approach to modding nowadays is to just stick to higher fidelity versions of the base game stuff and keep the vanilla weather etc.
One can also manually install another ENB, maybe into Ominous ENB for less vibrancy
So why is this better?
I think this "updates" the game for a new gen. Not better but more beauty;
Looks pretty. We like pretty
This specific Modlist is called Nordic Souls. It's a collection of around 1300+ mods aimed and designed to take Vanilla Skyrim into 2023. This video is honestly terrible, Nordic Souls is absolutely stunning in game. It also adds new perks, new combat animations, new npc animations, followers, cities, a metric shit-ton of award winning modded quest lines. Horses overhaul, Economy Overhaul, Bandit Overhaul, Forsworn Overhaul. Its actually really neat, and this video terribly undersells what it really is.
@@brianross920 i mean thats cool but in most of the video it looks like an unfinished game. OG skyrim kinda looks better in some part? which is hard to think since we all know how dated skyrim look lmaoo but this mod looks unfinished, the ground while having more fidelity looks like a downgrade to vanilla's terrain
Wrong, wrong, WRONG! there are MULTIPULE ISSUES HERE! #1- Your CPU has low CACHE if you used a Ryzen 5 3600 ya wouldn't have this problem, also the "CALLS" thats not a Direct X 11 Problem.... it's a Resizable BAR Problem! YOUR GPU is ONLY at around 50% usage! like im using a RTX 3060 lAPTOP WITH ONLY 6GB VRam! And 12 Extra GB of Mods! With a i5-10500h... A and i get 80-90 FPS on 1080p ULTRA EVERYTHING/ Max Draw dustance Everything! #2- you are using waaaaaay too much vram for 1080p makes me think u have 4k textures installed but are using them at 1080p completely defeating the purpose! Ya wont see a difference unless at 4k! you're just WASTING VRAM! like LOOK 50% gpu usage but 7.5 gb of vram used?!? Dafuq?!? that ain't right bud! #3- i also used to own a rtx 2080 super and a ryzen 5 3600 it out preformed yours by aleast DOUBLE the FPS! Your basically running 4k requirements or higher at 1080p without Resizable BAR and not enough CPU-CACHE for the TEXTURE MOD .... fix!!! is download a 1080p texture mod and turn on resizable bar or upgrade your cpu
wow! what a nice way to inform someone :D
no, its shit
what is the texture mod for this modpack?
lorerim has such weird saturation and bloominess. apostasy looks much better.
Lorerim better
both lists are top tier, imo
You dont need to buy ANIVERSARY EDITION. With the last Version of Special Edition it will work.
Lorerim github page says it needs full paid update to anniversary. i dunno, maybe something changed
This help nothing in decided which one you want. If you want graphic find the modlist that focus on graphic, Both Apostasy and LoreRim are focus one diffrent things in the game you should do your research and chose for yourselves. For LoreRim they focus on stability, Lore and immersion of the world. Instead of mordern gaming feel you will have many more animation mod and well picked mod included to make you feel like you are actually live in the game. For Apostasy they introduced Poise system and stance as a main engine of the game and focus more on the action aspect of the game. To sum up, graphic didnt help anything in deciding which one you would go for. Do your own research and find the one that fit for you.
Awesome modlist, tried it out the other day and love it. Visually stunning and includes most of my favourite mods. Just needs Seasons and less HUD clutter to make it perfect : -)
9:09 You were fearing the monster away.. Its not a mechanic they use to make combat more interesting its probbably your weapon enchant. Usually when i attack something in Lorerim they wont let me breathe and make me suffer I can see the blue tint around the monsters that appears when u fear someone.
good eyes, good catch! I didn't realize it was the fear sword
What program is it you use that allows you to see the performance of your gpu/cpu? I wanna test this for myself. Having a ton of studders on my load order and I wanna know if its a vram problem or not
msi afterburner, but you need to setup from inside Riva Tuner
Personally LoreRim is always one of the most beautiful lists, but is a LOT for many systems to run. While Apostasy feels lighter in terms of graphics with few frame drops and a stronger emphasis on combat. If I’m in the mood for roleplaying a merchant build or something similar I’ll play LoreRim while if I’m wanting to play fast action combat I’ll stick with Apostasy.
This type of video is very helpful.. for making me even more confused about which one to go with
lol well my grandma always said "if there's two delicious cake in front of you, and you can't decide, eat BOTH!"
HELP, i just installed NGVO and it works but although SSE display tweaks is in the list, my ingame fps is locked at 60 and i really want to unlock it .. If i play vanilla skyrim, my frames are unlocked so it is just happening with the modlist. I bet another mod in NGVO is conflicting/overwriting/capping fps against SSE display tweaks. Do you have any idea of a fix for me ? Or what mod of NGVO is locking the frames and that i would need to edit or remove ? Also i installed the visual C++ thing .. i checked, it's not onedrive either. Thanks a lot for any help 🙏🙏
check the ENB menu screen. can be entered either with END key, or SHIFT ENTER, or something similar. you should see FPS limiter there. Some modlists do limit FPS though
@@ModdingZone-r3z i fixed it but not in this menu (i first checked there and there was no limitation to be removed), actually i went to enblocal.ini in the modlist folder (NGVO) and had to edit the frame limit that was in this file to = false 😀
what armor is this? its beautiful
twilight princess armor!
Lorerim is way clearer than apostasy
both have their unique charm, imo
Good job, i for one find this video useful. Appreciate the effort
just installed lorerim on my xbox and I'm having a blast
it's a top tier modlist!
I noticed in your showcase plus in me playing it is there any way to get rid of the random line glitching in the camera movements
your eyes are better than mine, i don't notice it lol. you mean the light flashing? any particular section you have in mind?
both look great, but I feel like apostasy blends better
both belong in top 5 modlist, i think
huh I'm playing using apostasy modlist but my riverwood doesn't look like that
what's different on your riverwood?
Author of LoreRim here: I think this comparison would have made a lot more sense if you at least used the same ENB. Amon is one of the ENB options for LoreRim. It also looks like the shots were taken at different times of day. Also I think in general, modlist authors aren't here trying to have their lists compared. I don't personally care but these are free lists that we just make out of passion, not paid products. I say this because I've been yelled at by modlist authors for the same thing before when I wanted to make comparison videos. EDIT: It also looks like your ENB cache was bugged out or something when you recorded LoreRim. The water shouldn't look like it does in this video.
Personally I like stuff about both of them but yeah they are not trying to compete for the same audience so comparing them side by side without showing gameplay differences or anything else is kind of rough.
hi biggie_boss, thanks for taking the time to comment. I agree, same ENB should be used. I also did use 11am or 11pm for time, I gotta work on that more. That really sucks you got yelled at for comparison videos, I mean, comparison videos are useful for the community to get a sense of what they want to download next. The one thing I'm careful of is not saying anything bad about the modlist, I know how much work has to go in there. Also, the average player just doesn't have the SSD space, time, or mental energy to try all 54 modlists available, so comparison videos can be useful. But yeah, I get it, if modlist authors don't want their work compared, I'll leave that modlist alone and move on to other types of videos. Because of your reasonable comment, I like you now even more. Again, very much appreciate all you do. Love your work!
The two mod list; Apostasy and Lorerim are both very different not just in terms of the visual choices but in terms of the goals of the mod authors and what their visions are. I like the comparisons but people should also understand that at their core they have a different focus in terms of quests, lore, combat, etc. Both are great list and they both mod list authors deserve a great deal of thanks for producing such good products for the rest of us to enjoy for free.
Thanks, I don't think I've ever seen this kind of modlists comparison although it's very useful
thank you. But i might not do another modlist vs modlist comparison in the future, it's rather too controversial. maybe I'll focus on other videos
Nice specific mod comparison you did it. Sub and like o:
LoreRim is better
definitely in my top 5 favorites
So my opinions on these lists. Lorerim. I do like the textures for the buildings and how it fixes the biggest issues i have with graphic mods. No pitch black shadows, Hate going in to a cave or even stand under a roof and have my visibility reduced by 90%-100%. Not fun. The Ui is more to my liking, gives more info and is easier to see, With the exception of the compass, i like having it on the top. Apostasy. The darker green vegetations looks way better and the softer shadows that this mod has, does help making it better. The other shadows is the pitch black ones that i despite. I will say that the trees, grass and the water looks better with the Apostasy list, in Evergreen grove. However i do prefer the mountain/rock texture of Lorerim. It is brighter and makes it easier to see and it makes the details stand out. Can you tell that i dislike dark shadows ?
hehe. the proper shadow do make an impact! If Lorerim and Apostasy had a baby, it might be your perfect modlist
@@ModdingZone-r3z Indeed.
The lighting of Lorerim in this video looks broken and flat - unrealistic amount of ambient light and non-existent (?) skylighting. That's how (modded) SkyrimVR usually looks, but Flatrim should be able to do better. I can't imagine this is how the modlist looks OOTB on high settings...
I'd say something is wrong with his setup. I don't believe Lorerim is meant to look like that at 3:02 for example. Looks like there's a strong orange filter on all its scenes.
Thank you. I'm going to check again with a fresh, clean install. I wonder if ENB setting changed somewhere accidentally
thank a lot for the video!! can you do please nordic souls vs fahluaan
yes, but in the far future. right now i want to analyze and see how to improve for the next comparison video :)
My lorerim looks much better. Whas this the ultra preset?
yes, ultra. There's OBS studio and youtube compression too. :) but I'm Doing a clean install now
There was a time (like 5 years ago) where graphic enhancement mods for Skyrim hit a sweet spot. When the game looked like vanilla but just better. But now it's too overmodded. Skyrim does look like it had too much Botox and dinghy lips and atomic boobs. It's so weird. All those shaders and effects and 128k textures in combination with the low poly world and buildings and outdated NPCs and animations etc. looks so off and artifial and weird. It's disharmonic.
yeah these modlists do way too much i dont play skyrim for visuals i prefer gameplay modlists like gate to sovengarde or constellations on nexus
Nordic souls still has the vanilla essence!
i just have to state this. my lorerim looks completely different to urs. why? i actually took a different ENB lol.... i dont know which options there are for apostasy, but lorerim has the option of Amon, Cabbage, Cabbage - biggie cut, dawnstar, dawnstar performance friendly, ebony, rudy, silent horizons 2 and pi cho. if i pick amon for a vid, or i pick rudy for a vid. IT WILL BE WAY DIFFERENT. so imo, for both vids, same ENB should be used .... because my lorerims water for example looks natural whilst urs looks like its toxic waste water lol
after checking the list trough wabbajack it appears so that apostasy is using amon enb - with some tweaks. well, that explains why its so different because i can tell u straight up this lorerim u see here is using probably the cabbage biggie cut, which is vibrant and way more fantasy based.
@EuDirijo051 thanks ;D
I agree about syncing the ENBs. If both lists use the same weather, ofc, otherwise it would be difficult. As it is, the video is not very useful, at least for judging graphics fidelity.
@@marcdwonn9772 theyre both using NAT III weather, but even if the weather would be different. atleast using amon on both, or rudy on both.. or whichever are available in both of the lists. apostasy uses a modifiedd amon so i feel like that should also be used in lorerim for comparing it to eachother. even if the weathers were different i feel like it would be a way closer comparison
hey, thanks for feedback. I'll be sure to make both modlist use same ENB for future. and toxic waste water ahahah
imo Apostasy definitely looks more realistic than Loreim which seems to have too bright unrealistic colors and shades
enb matters though ...
Now i'm really interested to see what Apostasy would look like with Cabbage ENB, which is more bright and colorful
@@ModdingZone-r3z well, ive looked through the modpack and they only have amon enb... so u would have to mod the modpack urself to try XD but, you could set amon up in lorerim on the same way as in apostasy to compare and if it looks similar you could try with cabbage and see how it coud be on apostasy ;p
I've added Cabbage to Apostasy and I think it looks great. (After a couple tweaks)
A LOD comparison would be nice
Slow down your comparions. Too many different shots, with different comparison crops.
would be nice if you described both and your experience in them. There's only so much we can see in a video compared to having hands on experience. What is the overall mood of each mod list?
hi! i originally wanted the video to be just graphics and not a review. possibly for future video. But Lorerim with Cabbage ENB makes me feel happy and vibrant, even in cold, snow area. Apostasy with AMOM enb for a "serious" playthrough, possibly for a survival type. The atmosphere does feel cold, and Nordic, slightly still in tune with the Vanilla skyrim bleakness.
I can’t even play a wabbajacklist without the game stuttering heavily. Like my fps is constantly skipping around but I can’t even walk in a normal area without the game jerking and stuttering. I don’t get why I can’t get the game to a stable place. I’ve done a lot of tweaking and no guides seem to work for me. 3060ti Ryzen 7 5800x 16ddr4 ram
your fps stuttering is due to hardware, as I'm sure you already know. also, VRAM on 3060ti is lower side. you're on Ultra or performance mode? ENB will destroy FPS too. which modlist have you tried, most are very hardware demanding
