I have been living in the US for the last six years but I have been very disappointed in the use of technology and the service industry. I have encountered many problems such as bank applications, banks not providing 24/7 service, technical support of many businesses is really inadequate, websites of businesses are not user friendly. The last disappointment is related to the subject mentioned in this video. I live in Texas and usually we don't need a propane heater in the winter. We use electricity. But this winter it was very cold so I bought a good heater that runs on propane. Then I bought two 20lbs propane tanks and connected them. I soon realized that there must be a more practical way to do this. In the Middle East where I was born and raised we used these propane tank every winter and we never had a connection problem there because they made it very easy. Even a person who has no technical knowledge in such things can easily change one tank. Remove and put the other one. It's just a one-step process. There would be a regulator and a quick connect device at the end of the hose coming from the heater. When you wanted to change the propane tank, you would press the button on it, detach the regulator from the tank and easily attach it to the other tank. But they said there was no such thing in the United States! In a place that is presented as a developed country with the best technology in the world at every opportunity, we saw that a country (Turkey) that found the solution 40 years ago and did it wonderfully could not do the work it did. If I'm going to screw something together every time, it wouldn't be called a "quick connect." The solution is actually very simple. All the mouths of the tanks produced must be manufactured according to quick connection. Why would we need extra connectors? Why not make it user friendly? The five gallons of liquid gas will run out in no time and we will have to disconnect the hose again to setup a new one. When we think about sending people to Mars, I think it would be more logical to solve the problems on Earth first. Although we are talking about a country (USA) that doesn't know how to build proper roads. The roads are terrible. I can write more but there is no need. 😀

I think I would run the water for 30 to 60 seconds and then shut it off and connect the filter. That way you know you removed any debris, sediment, etc. so it won't go into the filter. Thus, prolonging the filter life and minimizing how often to backflush it.

How does it do in terms of range? Charging modern smartphones? What happens if you put rechargeable aa batteries in - will it charge those too or does it only recharge the internal battery from crank and solar?

Has nobody heard of cross-contamination? I would not want to store my water filtration system inside of my dirty water scooper 🤷

You forgot to taste each. The reason I say that is I have bought can tomato sauce (Hunts) that was terrible.

I have one and love it. But if it gets smudged, leave it alone. Even a lightly damp cloth will make it sticky. I had to let sit for days and keep rubbing my hand over it to wear it down. Even after a few weeks, it still has a slight tacky feel. But it's getting back to normal.

So, you have propane sealed in a container without ventilation and stored on a shelf - in your garage? I'm not sure that's smart. Perhaps if you store it in an outside shed and drill a few ventilation holes in the side of the tote - near the bottom as propane is heavier than air. The tote is a great idea; I love the organization and having everything together but please reconsider a few tweaks to your plan for safety sake. Thank you for sharing there is good info here.

Seems like a LOT of work.

Be sure to test the cnoc immediately after getting it. I had to get three before I got one without a pinhole leak. Only reason I even tried a second much less a third is because it was a free replacement from amazon. Still a pain. So I would not recommend the cnoc bag. Great design, very poor material choice.

I think that is just another part to lose. Best prefilter is a Millbank bag, or equivalent.

Myself and 3 other friends all bought the same set. 3 out of the 4 stoves didn’t hardly work. Ended up have to switch it out with my trusty Coleman “ peak 1” stove. But all in all. The cook set is damn worth it.

I've got a GREAT idea for all these Emergency radios: one of the radio bands should be TV audio so while you're sitting there powerless, at least you can listen to your favorite TV shows. EZ to design into these radios and worth every penny while you're sitting there doing nothing IMHO.

The Midland ER series has easily removable/rechargeable lithium ion batteries along with a large AA battery compartment. It's a better radio. However, I just wish they would include SW with all of these emergency radios.
