Eggtimer Wi-Fi Switch for Ejection Charge Testing
มุมมอง 5543 ปีที่แล้ว
Using Eggtimer Wi-Fi switches to test ejection charges makes life soooo much easier, no duct tape around a vacuum nozzle, no wires up the wazoo, just install the switch and wire up the charge. For those that are using a switch to turn on the electronics, its already in the avbay. For this rocket we have 2 sets of sleds one for the flight using StratoLoggers and one just for testing with the swi...

    Your demo shows coils that fit into a 4" rocket. Couldn't you use the harness winder to make coils that fit into smaller rockets by not winding the coils all the way? It seems that if you made marks on the winder for 3", 2.6", etc rockets, you could wind smaller coils. Am I correct in my thinking, or this will only work on rockets that are 4+"? Tnx.

    Excellent! I am building a MadCow Terminator-5 fiberglass rocket and will first fly it on a 5 grain Pro54 motor, but have a 4 grain Pro75 casing and will then use that with 2 spacers to launch with a 2-grain (later 3 grain) Pro75 motor. Question: Is the eyebolt on the end of the motor required? What is the use of that (to make it easier to remove the part after flight? Thanks for any comments. SCS 7 Oct 2022

    • @allenhall7675
      @allenhall7675 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Stephen, Glad you like the video. The only purpose of the eye bolt is to attach the harness. I thought I talked (in the full length video) a little about the eyebolt dilemma in a 4 grain case (using 2 spacers) in the video, but I could have edited it out. Ultimately I purchased a 2 grain case to avoid having to use 2 spacer for the K1085.

    Do you have a link to the router bit you are using? Or one you would recommend for g10?

    • @reliablerocket5398
      @reliablerocket5398 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for watching! Absolutely, I use a 1/4 (sometimes 1/8) router bit for Fiberglass Plain End McMaster Part# 8785A14. Unfortunately, it looks like they maybe discounting the specific bit. For safety it is VERY IMPORTANT any bit used have a diamond-pattern flute.

    Hi Allen, I cover 1 side of each with painters tape. (part & template) then apply a few drops of CA strategically placed around to secure the part to the template. (like using 2 sided tape) Very secure, easier clean up & separation with a putty knife or an Xacto blade.

    • @reliablerocket5398
      @reliablerocket5398 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for watching! Certainly do whatever works the best for you but there are at least 3 issues I encountered with what you describe 1) it's a 3 step process to attach and 2 steps to detach the template. 2) the tape creates buildup on the bit. 3) it does not work for really small parts which was the origin of the method demonstrated here.

    I just launched a certification flight with a kit converted for dual deploy. Because of space constraints, I could NOT have had a successful flight without using your winder. I was even told by a kevlar supplier that I couldn’t use that size kevlar in the air frame I was using. I just laughed because he didn’t know the tool I had. Thank you for a successful flight.
