Chopin trazia estes sons de planos muito elevados...esta foi sua missão e estes artistas o representam fielmente.

C'est une grande chance que cette œuvre existe. Et un bonheur de l'écouter avec ces interprètes ensorcelants.

The most action-packed 2:45 minutes i can ever recall. I was asked to find this and play it after college for some senior former grade school teacher, i never did this any justice. I'm inspired to try again.

I began violin lessons at age nine in 1950 and this is one of the pieces I learned by ear. I heard it on my folks RCA console radio. It was a theme song for some show that I don't even remember. I do recall being very fascinated with it. However this young lady takes it to another level....BRAVO!

As spirited as could be! And the high spirits are supported by exceptional technical capabilities on the part of both performers. "Brilliante" indeed. Bravissimi! I do, however, have one caveat: the piano tends to drown out the cello.

At first hearing I thought his cello sounded different. Spectacular but I can’t put the way it sounds into words. I soon realized it isn’t the cello, it’s the way he plays that makes my heart race. What an amazing performance of this piece. If Chopin was a cellist this is how I’d imagine him playing. What a great duo!

DROPPIN BOMBS DAM is Mr. Harrell not reading music? i wanna be that kinda old if he isn't reading and playing from memory. to have music like this written within the fabric of your being. actually it looks like he is reading - either way, greatness, n he could've probably played something like this from heart. I DONT EVEN KNOW my mind is racing now

Apparently Chopin wrote this (the original version has a much less virtuosic cello part; this is the sexed-up arrangement by Feuermann) for a nobleman who was an OK cellist, and his daughter, who was an excellent pianist, so the piano part stands out even more.* I agree, it is fun when the "accompanist" has a big part and is totally up to the job :) *There is a wonderful recording of Argerich, accompanied by Rostropovich on the cello ;-P made around 1980. He obviously had the chops to play the Feuermann version but chose not to. It is fun to listen to her casually set the house on fire while he sits there going "yes, dear..."
