Always great to hear Olsen stories yet this was extra "bomb diggity"- been a fan since I was a kid, yet this was extra wild- and so stoked he brought up Bert LaMar / first wave of comp snowboarding. Look forward to seeing that ramp painting and that pushing through France movie.

I just met Steve at the Kona 45th anniversary and he is the real deal! In the past I have met other skaters and they seemed like they could care less to talk to me. Steve was not that way. He was genuinely interested in the fact that I loved his skating and was interested in him. After I met him I loved him even more than I did before I met him due to the way that he responded to me when I met him. Thanks Steve for taking the time!

I skated with a couple kids from Canada that used to skate with Steve O Olsen Dan paguina I'm not sure if that's how he spelled his last name for sure but this was after he skated for world industries n these Canadians did a demo at a skate shop in my city that I missed but we hung out later n skated the city me n two friends showed them around fall river Massachusetts they were pretty good Rick mccrank was already known as one of the best I really thought Steve Olsen was from Canada cuz they talked about Steve like he was one of their own like he was a Canadian but whatever Dan was trying to Fs 50-50 a triple kink double square rail with a space between the two square rails , I told him don't try it especially not now after ur tired from the demo n traveling cuz donney barley had lived in our city for a lil bit we all helped move him in n he tried to get out mayor to put in the parks the right way but the mayor put them in the cheap way so in two three yrs it was trashed to many cracks n huge gaps before u can even ride up the quarters or mini half ,the spine everything was trash wat a waste of money but tiverton RI did it right u gotta dig into the ground not just put cement ramps on tar n put some cement on top ....Donny barley walked out the meeting if the mayor wouldn't change his mind n he did n his blueprints donney had were designed by Brian BA Anderson like wtf if the city is gonna spend money on a outdoor park then do it right one city over which happens to be another state Rhode island they did it right ik I went off a lil just thought to put out authentic history n that ppl who knew Steve O loved him n said he was the most creative skater they ever met

Thanks Andrea / Duncan, felt so raw and natural, that it was just like connecting in real life. So yeah was nice to catch up!! Loved your thoughts on covid too, exactly the wavelength I’m feeling and hearing too, embracing the stillness, gratitude for the time and space to reflect , and the silver lining of excitement for the change in the air. Great stuff!

Awesome episode. It was encouraging for someone like me that is starting out (24 and just out of film school), looking for more editing work, and concerned about the future of film/editing. It will definitely be interesting to see how technology plays a role moving forward. Thanks for having David on the show!

OMG I think this is my favorite episode of your podcast so far. I can so relate to her radiostory, it is so difficult to get into acting or anything like it eg radio , if noone of your family ever did it. And I love Irmgard Keun and never knew that Desirée ever portrayed her. you two are so natural and authentic, I love your chemistry with each other. And you are letting us into your circle. It's like sitting at the table with you, like a circle of friends=0)
