Hey Ravindra! Yes, work processes under external audit is considered as relevant work experience to obtain the CFA Charter. Reasoning & my suggestion- As external audit involves analyzing and verifying financial statements /transactions to ensure accuracy and transparency for stakeholders, including investors, creditors, and regulators. This work builds expertise in financial reporting, compliance, and risk assessment-core skills emphasized in the CFA curriculum. It provides stakeholders-like investors, creditors, and regulators-with reliable and transparent information about a company’s financial health and play a key role in making sound investment decisions so ya definitely it’s a good to go job for this. But I would suggest as you grow further in your career ,try exploring core investment base jobs as well inclined towards valuations (M&As if you are fond of extensive research followed by complex number crunching game to find values for targeted companies) or if you are interested in trading area , then can aim for Portfolio Manager at some mutual fund house for higher packages or so. In each of these roles, your knowledge is being put to use, so just don’t continue your role as an external audit assistant for the sake of obtaining required work experience but to add value to your knowledge as well, reap the most this role has to offer you in learnings and then about 1.5 or so years later, hop on to something better and more career aligned (according to your interest) as work experience anyhow would be counted in this case too. @@Being_Enlightened like if you consider solely on the basis of your graduation plus CFA L1 you can expect in the range of 5.5-6 LPA (avg) in valuations or equity research role primarily at a decent firm, but since I have done FRM (both parts) as well along with CFA L1 during my college time , so around 9.5-10 LPA is something you can easily expect.

If it’s the case dear, then I would suggest you not to loose on your hope and revise your essay by stating only relevant information instead of lengthy explaining,like for answering “what prompted you to apply for this scholarship “ focus upon your finance skills, (a brief timeline from school till present) that demonstrates your interest in this field would help, and lil bit of financial background that is making you to apply for this, And for Q2 (“How will receiving a scholarship make a difference in your pursuit of the CFA designation?”) - Focus majorly on your financial condition like explicitly state that you don’t have back up funds to finance this exam if you are not awarded this scholarship (only if it’s true) and tell that you will be serving as an asset to this financial community and this asset (that is YOU) could yield great returns in form of becoming a notable finance professional and also contributing to the society only if investment is made in this asset today and that investment is in the form of the notable scholarship to be awarded by CFA Institute to you. @@RichaSharma-xb5uo Like the difficulty level remains the same, but the questions sets might differ on each exam day, sometimes different chapters under a particular subject is given more weightage on a given exam day, that's why it's said, you gotta study everything coz CFA Institute considers everything as equally important so it makes sure to test you on all the topics (you can't give it to luck to be tested on your preferred areas of topics)..

Hi Shankar! See, derivatives forms an imp. part of CFA curriculum so anyhow you need to put the fear bug out of your mind. All concepts whether its theoretical definitions, deriving synthetic values through put call parity, binomial pricing or studying related terms and its implications via graphs needs prime focus. If the lectures, books and portal questions are sounding way too complicated for you to understand, just make use of AI tools (chatgpt, google's gemini) and give prompts like" simplify this example," or like "explain this in indian market context ", explain "the pricing strategy step by step using simplest example", " Explain this question to a layman who doesn't know derivatives ", and so on and so forth.. You will see a drastic difference in your understanding after playing around with this tool and using it to your vest advantage to understand the complex portions you find in derivatives! Just trust me for once and try it out, it helped me and hopefully will help you too..

Hi Shankar! I would suggest you to stick to either portal practice pack of 2500 questions or EOC questions of cfa book, coz about 95% questions are overlapping, and unnecessarily would consume your extra time. What I considered an ideal way to go about this was sticking to portal questions to assess my score in real time and referring to the mistakes and revising the answers through the explanation displayed on the screen for each question alongside doing module quiz questions of each chapter in Schweser after giving it a read. Doing this much only, will solidy your concepts and will make you land up in a decent percentile, provided your conceptual understanding is strong for each sub.

Ya sure would love to help you on this .. Firstly, yes, you can easily opt for this course even if you are from commerce w/o maths bg (many of my friends opted for this course having plain commerce). See the level of maths is pretty basic, only what is required is your understanding of the concept, as the figures are easily fetched by doing basic (division, and multiplying by the power and all). Like in finding real price/base currency, be mindful of which currency's CPI to take and understand its logic too! Then its a one step simple division step. As the core maths that one studies in 11-12th primarily regarding derivations, trigo,and complex eqns solving and all at school is not really something that comes under CFA curriculum. Cfa Institute's focus is on concept building and even the minor calculations you'll be doing will be something that just requires you to plug in the numbers from the question and get the final value , here the testable part lies in which value to be divided by whom (like when doing TVM questions, make it a golden rule to make a time line to understand what primarily the questions is asking and be through with your PV, FV and related terms concepts). Similarly for other subs, its primarily around finding ratios (again here you need to be specific about what items to consider for finding a particular ratio and when you are certain about it, its a simple easy step to do via calculator, same for finding value of a firm or backward calculation for finding the growth rate or so (again very intuitive, and nothing to worry about) Then in probability, take it as a fresh topic, and don't link it to maths coz its super practical in terms of content, and something you can easily remember and enjoy to learn once you solve questions on these lines (here Bayes theorem is the most imp) And for finding correlation, std deviation ,you have direct inputs in your calculator to help you there but also manually if you do,its super easy I'm telling you, nothing related to typical scary maths and for confidence intervals and all in normal distribution, it requires referring to the tables and remembering of z- value for key confidence levels (90%, 95%, 99%). Don't worry if you don't get this last part coz once you study it, its interesting and easy to understand if you practice alongside!. Rest minor equation solving stuff, finding option payoffs, duration/convexity practical sums is also doable . I hope you get a basic idea that not having maths is really not a big concern here and you can be at the same level like the maths folks by giving a lil extra focus to quant section, as the only edge the ones having maths have is that solving part becomes easy (esp in prob, TVM,) . And since you are from commerce bg, accounts that is (FSA sub here) is easily manageable by you and similarly for eco too, everything is practical oriented (with few exceptions) . Only maths was your concern, which I hope that through my explanation I was able to resolve your query to some extent :)) Will try to make a proper video in future on this💫. Don't stress out dear! Hi, I can see you have neglected Ethics so far and I hope you are not saving this subject for the last. Also the subs which carry relatively high weightage -FSA, eco , (derivatives and FI being imp from investment career perspective) is not touched upon by you. I feel you should have a balanced approach and start away with FSA, FI as rest things are easier on understanding part (portfolio mgt, derivatives can be easily covered as they are intuitive and can easily be remembered) , but obviously each sub requires attention, but if you have commerce bg, FSA, eco and certain degree of quants is a smooth sail for you, but try to wrap up with your course in the next 35-40 days to ensure sufficient time for revision.. And in this 35-40 day span I'm including your portal question solving time too (considering you are a full time student) else if in a working profession, would suggest to stretch the course during weekends and in the next 60-65 days get done with it, as a sense of practical exposure in this field while working will make things easier for you to understand. Tho will try to come up with a video addressing the right study approach keeping time as a constraint!

Here are few tips to help you remember and understand topics for CFA Level 1: Active Recall: Regularly test yourself on key concepts instead of just rereading notes. (Solve sectional mocks, chapter wise questions from diff sources to increade the coverage of diverse testab portions) Spaced Repetition: Review topics at increasing intervals to reinforce memory. Mind Maps: Create mind maps to visualize connections between different concepts. (rough flow charts or your Institute material if provided) Practice Questions: Solve as many practice questions as possible to reinforce understanding (2500 ques. practice pack is a must,with revisiting the main ones which you feel are imp and needs further revision as well when close to exam) .Teach Back: Explain concepts to someone else (study partner), which helps solidify your understanding. Focus on LOS: Stick closely to the Learning Outcome Statements (LOS) to guide your study and use acronyms wherever required. Summarize: Write brief summaries of each imp topic in your own words or record audio in your understandable lang(need not be formal at all) .Flashcards: Use flashcards for quick reviews of formulas and key definitions. Real-World Examples: Relate theoretical concepts to real-world financial scenarios to improve retention. I hope this helps.. Will try to address this topic properly in my future videos

The questions were on the lines of CFA official curriculum & the structure of the questions was inclined to the portal chapterwise & mock questions on CFA Institute website. (like at first I myself was worried in regard to how the questions would be as you must be knowing the changed syll for 2024 where some portion has been put to pre-requisite material which is not subject to be tested. But don't worry, you will not get any alien questions or such, for deeper understanding browse through the pre-requisite material but majorly focus on the testable portion (CFA learning modules). You'll ace this one for sure 💫.All the very best.
